Banner Year, Life is Beautiful, Thinking of You Card, 2020 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

Today I thought I would play with the "Banner Year" set from the 2020 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.  I was going to make a "Happy fall y'all" card but I don't  usually send out fall cards so I went with a thinking of you card.  There's a lot of people I think about all four seasons so this will be a perfect card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Crushed Curry. This card opens on the bottom and the fold is at the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Rich Razzleberry card stock and taped it to the Crushed Curry card base.

I cut a 2" x 5" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Plaid Tidings" 6" x 6" paper stack. Mine was from a piece I had left from a different card I had made.  I'm not going to use up the stack 2" at a time!!! LOL  Then I cut a 2-1/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White card stock and I taped the DSP to the bottom end of the Whisper White piece so the piece measured 5" x 3-3/4".  When I had trimmed the Rich Razzleberry piece I took the 1/4" strip and glued it to the front of my card where the DSP and the Whisper White meet.

I was trying to figure out how to stamp the pumpkin. I didn't want to stamp it with it taped to the DSP but I couldn't figure out another way to do it without having to make pencil marks on my card and hope that I can find them or remember to erase them. So I decided to just stamp it with it already taped to the DSP. I really didn't need to have the base of the pumpkin on the Rich Razzleberry line so it didn't matter if it was taped or not.  I stamped the pumpkin from the "Banner Year" set using Pumpkin Pie ink. Then I took my markers and colored the leaf using Old Olive and the stem using Early Espresso. I huffed on it just before I stamped it on the pumpkin.

I took some linen and wrapped it three times around the focal piece and I tied a bow. I added a glue dot under the bow to hold it in place. I also took some scotch tape and taped the backside so the two pieces were a little more firm and would stay together better.

On a scrap piece of Whisper White I stamped the words from the "Life is Beautiful" set using Old Olive ink. I die cut it with the 1-5/8" circle die and I die cut a scalloped circle just a little bigger using Pumpkin Pie card stock.  When I die cut my Whisper White piece I wanted to make sure the words were closer to the top so I had room for a leaf or acorn. I had trouble deciding but I ended up with the leaf. The leaf is from the "Banner Year" set and I stamped it using Crushed Curry ink and then drew on it with my Cajun Craze marker. I fussy cut it out and set it aside. I stamped the little leaves on the circle using Crushed Curry ink that was stamped off once. The leaves are from the "Life is Beautiful" set.

I taped the circles together and then I set them in place using Dimensionals and then I added a small Dimensional to the leaf and set it in place on the circle.

Don't forget to add a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside of the card to complete it and make it easier to see what you write!

This was a fun card to make, even with the fussy cutting!!!  I want to play with the cute bat in this set! I'll have to think of a fun layout to make it work, it's not much bigger than the pumpkin.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today,
Wanda
