Botanical Butterfly, By the Bay, Thinking of You Card

NEW STUFF!!!  Yay!!  If you lived in my neighborhood you may have heard me scream when I saw the box on my porch!  I was SO excited to play with the new stuff!  I cut the box open and I was taking things out and setting them on my worktable. I even broke the box down before I took a good look at the new stuff!  It was SO cold that I couldn't touch it for long, it actually made my fingers hurt.  I needed to make a quick decision as to which cold set I was going to warm up to play with!!! LOL

I opened the package of "Botanical Butterfly" Designer Series Paper (DSP).  The butterflies on the very first page were SO beautiful.  I fussy cut two out.  I took another piece of the DSP, the light and dark green piece that I used on the strip here.  I cut that strip 2" x 4-3/4".  What's bad about the butterfly paper is, the backside is a fun small black buffalo check.  But I got two packages of that paper so I'm sure I will be using the butterflies in one pack and the check in the other!!  These packages were free, they are part of the Sale-a-Bration that started last week!  I have been anxiously awaiting my order so I could play with some fun new stuff.  After cutting the butterflies I was thinking of spring while my fingers were still cold from handling the stamp sets!!! LOL  Winter isn't over yet, it's just started.  But one can think of spring, right?  LOL

This was a fun and super easy card to make.  The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is the light and dark DSP strip.  The black layer behind the strip was cut 2-1/8 x 4-7/8".  I taped those two layers together and I taped them to the card base.

The words are from the "By the Bay" set.  I stamped them using black Memento ink.  This is another Sale-a-Bration set. I liked it because it seemed like a great masculine set.

I fussy cut the butterflies and I set them in place on the DSP panel using strips of Dimensional. I cut them thin enough and ran them along the body of the butterfly.  And that is it.  The butterflies were already colored so I really didn't do a lot to make this card.  I did cut out two strips of the DSP and I think I'm going to make another butterfly card but I will probably make it a birthday card.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

It's always fun to get a package of goodies like that. Your card is very pretty.
