Abstract Impressions, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Birthday Card, 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Isn't this a sweet looking card?  I think it would be great as an anniversary, wedding or get well card too.  I found it on Pinterest. It's easy to make and fun. I didn't have the colors that were used in the original card so I used what I had. Meaning that I don't have a lot of the ribbons and accents. I did find some ribbon that I had bought at Walmart because it was cheap and I thought it would match the Pool Party color, and it did.

The directions for this card are to draw a circle using one of the circle die cuts.  I used the third largest one.  I lightly traced around the circle with a pencil.  I later erased all the pencil marks with a kneadable art gum eraser. If you don't have one of those I highly recommend you get one. They remove pencil marks without marring the paper or the image.  They pick the graphite off the paper and do not leave a mark.

I used the new "Abstract Impressions" set to make this card. I stamped the flower using Pool Party ink, stamped off once. I went around the circle starting at the top center and working each side. You want to work both sides so by the time you get towards the bottom (or where you're going to add your ribbon) you can fudge with the flowers and squish them together to fill in the circle. Mine somehow worked out that I was able to get all the flowers in without having to overlap them.  Next I took the center part of the flower and stamped it directly from the ink pad to the image. The leaves were stamped using Granny Apple Green stamped off once.  I wasn't sure I was going to like the card because the original card was SO pretty.  But once I got it all stamped, I did like what I saw.

I stamped the words from the "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" set using black Memento ink.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. This card opens from the right.  On top of that is a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of the metallic foil paper. If you look at the bottom right corner you can kind of see a reflection. In person it's REALLY pretty.

Next I taped the stamped Whisper White piece in place. Then I added rhinestones to the center of each flower.  I tied the bow and added a 3" piece of the tiny sequin ribbon. I folded the ribbon in half and stuck it to the bow using a glue dot. Then I added the bow with another glue dot and the card was done.

I think it's a very pretty card and I'm happy with the color I used.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
