Teeny Tiny Wishes & Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape

This is such a stunning card.  I was at Terri's FABULOUS Stamp-a-Stack tonight and this was one of the cards I made there.  All of her cards were wonderful and I think this time they are ALL my favorites. I can't pick one above the other.  I went there with my sister and we had a GREAT time!

To make this card you will need Night of Navy and Very Vanilla card stock.  You will also need the gold foil sheets and Brushed Gold paper.  The ink used here is black StazOn.  I  had added that sentiment when I got home.  I had forgotten to do the words.  And I also forgot that they were done in Night of Navy!!  And you know the sad part about all that?  It was only an hour ago that I had made the card and in that short time I forgot the color!!! UGH!!!  And I have to redo the words anyway, I used Whisper White card stock instead of Very Vanilla.  Time to get my eyes checked too!!! LOL

I LOVE this Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape and I especially LOVE the way Terri used it on the card. It made the card SO elegant looking.  It could be used for a birthday, thank you, wedding, anniversary, a get well, and a thinking of you card.  I just LOVE the looks of this card.

Just looking at this card makes me anxious for my Washi Tape so I can make more!! I just LOVE it (I know I said that already - several times!!! LOL).  Oh and did you notice the 3 tiny pearls on the Gold Foil Butterfly?

This is a very quick card to make too.  It seems like all of those using Washi Tape are quick to make!  You can't bead a beautiful card and one that is done quickly now, can you?

Thoughts & Prayers Sympathy Card

Today I thought I'd better make a sympathy card.  My husband's niece's husband's sister had a brain aneurysm and is not expected to make it.  The rest of my week is busy so I thought I should make my card now so I am ready.

I had found a card made by Glenda at "The Stamp Camp"a while back and I had saved it .  It's a very pretty card and a bit fussy to make but so worth it.  It really did go together quickly until it came to the flowers.  Gluing them in place one at a time took a few minutes but not that long.  I LOVE the little pearls in the centers of each flower.  I did change the card a bit but not too much.  And now as I look at it I think I should have changed the orientation of the card.  Keeping the music at the top (of the new orientation), moving the flowers piece to the upper left corner and having the words in that open space under the flowers (or in this case, on the side of the flowers.  I think I may make another card and give that orientation a try. I need a birthday card and this would make a very pretty one, with music and all!!!

My colors here are Very Vanilla, Basic Black and So Saffron.  The ink is black StazOn.  The decorative paper is from the "Modern Medley" pack and the words were done on my computer.  I was asked what size font was used on the words and I don't remember.  I had made them several years ago and put them in a PDF file for sale in my web store (click here to see them).  It's an after payment download, you get an email with instructions.  There's many greetings in the file.  They include: Thinking of You, Thank You, Happy Anniversary, Happy Birthday, With Sympathy, Get Well, Merry Christmas, Happy Father's Day, Happy Mother's Day, and Be Mine.  And there's 24 to a page.  They can be punched out with the circle or oval punch.  You can print out as many as you like and use them as you wish on cards for personal use or on cards and projects for sale.

Perfectly Penned and the Chevron Technique

The Chevron technique is a very fun and easy technique to do.  I found it here on YouTube.  There's lots of them out there but it was the black and white card that peeked my interest.  I LOVE black and white cards.

The instructions had you cut 5 pieces of the decorative paper 2" x 1".  You folded three of the strips one direction and the other two in the other direction.  This means you take a strip and fold the right corner over to the left side forming a 45 degree angle.  Turn the strip and repeat the same thing on the other end.  Turn the strip, not flip it over.  Both folds are on the same side.  You do this for 3 strips.  The other two strips are done the opposite.  You take the left corner and bring it to the right side forming 45 degree angle and you repeat it for the other end of the strip.  You need 2 of these folds.  Then you just put the strips together.

To add more layers to your card you will need to shorten the length of the strips just a hair or however much you want.  The more you trim the less surface they will cover when you are done folding them.

Fun, isn't it?  And they don't take that long to make either!  I want to make some of these cards using the new Sale-a-Brations paper!

Teeny Tiny Wishes Valentine's Day Postage Card

I honestly don't recall using the Postage Stamp punch.  I do remember buying it.  I thought it was something I just HAD to have but I don't recall making any cards using it.  Though I could have and just don't remember.  I don't remember a lot of things anymore!!! LOL

This card is a very quick and simple card to make.  I just took a 2" x 2" piece of decorative paper.  Here I used Strawberry Slush.  Then I punched a piece of Whisper White using the Postage punch.  Next I took a scrap piece of Strawberry Slush card stock and punched a small heart in it and then using the 1" square punch I centered the heart and punched it out.  That piece had Dimensionals added to it and then set in place on top of the postage punched piece.  Then the piece was taped to the decorative paper.  And finally the entire piece was taped to the card base.  I did attach the piece on with removable tape first so I knew where to put the words.  I got smart after a while of many mistakes. I stamped the words and then I added permanent tape to the piece.  Many times I have taped the piece down and then stamped the words and got them so crooked or smeared that it was unsalvageable. I hate it when that happens!!!  So lately I have been trying to outsmart the stamps by using removable tape and the results have been interesting, I actually get a great image.  Go figure!!! LOL

The words on my card are from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set.  One of my favorite sets!!!

I can not take credit for this card though.  I found it at Jen's "Simple & Sincere" blog.

This is a very quick card to make.  I actually made 4 extra ones to make a gift set with!

Off the Grid Valentine Envelope Punch Board Box!

That grid image from "Off the Grid" is such a fun stamp to play with.  Here I stamped it on a piece of white card stock and embossed it in gold.  I just cut it to fit my fun box I made.  Inside hides a Russell Stover Peanut Butter Heart!

This box was very fun to make.  I had been surfing the net to find out how to make smaller boxes.  I found one that told me to cut my card stock 8" x 8" and score at the 3" mark.  It worked but the box was too big for what I wanted.  So I thought if I cut my card stock 6" x 6" and scored at 2" I may get closer to the size I am looking for and get this, I did!  I ended up with a 2-1/3" x 2-1/4" x 1-3/16" box.  Perfect for the candy!  And such a nice size to decorate too. Not too big and not too tiny!

The words on the front are from the "Delightful Dozen" set.  I punched out two Real Red scalloped ovals and set them on the top and bottom of the large white oval.  I also punched out two Real Red small hearts.  One went on the front and the other is on the back.  It helps hold the tip of the box in place.  I didn't take a photo of it but it's just below the center.  The tip of the flap tucks in between it and the back of the box.  I just glued the bottom tip down and it provides enough space for the flap to fit in and stay shut.  I also tied a red ribbon around the box.  That alone would hold the box shut but adding the heart kept the tip down.

I like the size of this box and I think it's going to come in handy for other things I make, including some of my clay stuff!!!  You can find the directions for the larger box here.  Like I said, I just cut my card stock 6" x 6" and scored and punched at 2" and 4".  Round one of the tips, that will be the flap of the box.  Fold on all the score lines.  Pinch in the two bottom corner pieces and glue them together and to the bottom of the box.  The original instructions just show you pinching the pieces.  I preferred to glue them so they would stay in place.  For the top two corner pieces I just clipped the one scored line next to the top of the box (on each side). I also trimmed that piece up a bit after clipping.  You will see that it looks a little too long.  Next I glued the bottom and side flaps together.  Make sure you get them even or your box will be lopsided.  I added the heart to the back of the box and then decorated the front.  Have fun with it!

Thoughts and Prayers Birthday Card

Today I needed to make a birthday card.  It's for a January birthday but with us falling back into the deep freeze, I didn't want to make a winter theme card.  I'm really thinking spring.  I'm SO tired of being cold.  I am one who likes winter but NOT this year!!

For this card I used the "Thoughts and Prayers" set. This set is very versatile and you know how much I LOVE to have versatile sets!!!  This would make a lovely Mother's Day card, a Thinking of You card and of course a Sympathy card too.

I used the tiny flower punch and with the end of a pen I pressed the punched flowers into a piece of Fun Foam.  I glued the flowers in place and then I took the gel pen and added some white dots to the center of each flower.  The flower stem was stamped using Chocolate Chip ink.

The words were done using my computer. I punched them out with the 1-1/4" circle punch, the Strawberry Slush circle was made with the 1-3/8" punch and the Scalloped punch was made using a piece of Chocolate Chip card stock.

I used the Ribbon punch for the Chocolate Chip strip between the Whisper White card stock and the Strawberry Slush decorative paper.

This was a very fun and easy card to make.  I think it would make a wonderful Stamp a Stack card too!!

A Gorgeous Grunge Valentine's Day Card

You'll never guess where I was surfing again?  Pinterest did you say?  You guessed it!!  I found a very fun card to make using the "Gorgeous Grunge" set.  I just can't seem to get enough of that set!  It's fun and different.  I LOVE that combination!  You can see the original card here.

And as usual I did change the card some.  The original card has a butterfly on it instead of the hearts.  The plan for my card was for it to be a Valentine's Day card.  Not to say that the other card wasn't pretty, it was VERY pretty but it wasn't what I was looking for.  So I just copied it as close as I could and then added the Valentine's Day theme to it.  I like both cards but this one I have a use for!  This would also make a very pretty Mother's Day card too!

This card has some fun elements to it.  I used gold embossing powder on the "Gorgeous Grunge" line images.  It's got a little piece of the paper doily on the left there.  It's got a couple of rhinestones, the Washi tape, Real Red and Pink Pirouette ink splotches using the "Gorgeous Grunge" set.  And the words are from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set.  I'm hoping very hard that the set doesn't retire.  I LOVE using it and it has a lot of occasions in it.  Though I think I will use it even if it does retire.

I really enjoyed making this card and I think I may make another one for Mother's Day.  I still have lots of Washi tape left.  I'm just amazed at how far that tape goes!  If you make a card like this pay special attention to getting the lines straight on the "Gorgeous Grunge" stamp.  I was able to hide it with the Pirouette Pink piece and the doily.  Maybe that is why the original designer of the card used those two elements!!!!?  If so it was smart thinking!  LOL

Hearts & Butterflies Sizzlet

No stamping on this card!  I don't make too many cards that I don't need to do any stamping on and it's kind of fun!  Not much to clean up after making the card either!!!  Such a deal!!!  LOL

For my card today I used the heart Sizzlet and the Butterfly Sizzlet.  I actually found this card on Pinterest!!! Imagine that, me on Pinterest!!! LOL  You can see the original card here.  When I saw the card I knew I just had to make it.  I had it sitting on my computer for a few days and today I was able to find some time to create (copy) it!!!  I just love to make cards that can be used for more than one occasion too.  This can be used not only for a Valentine's Day card but wouldn't it make a great thinking of you card or a pretty wedding card?

It's a very simple and quick card to make too!  You can't beat a deal like that, now can you??

Delightful Dozen Meets Gorgeous Grunge on Valentine's Day!

I saw this Valentine's Day card on Pinterest and just HAD to remake it.  And of course I did change it a little bit.

First of all, my card is in English!!!

My heart is done using the polka dot Real Red decorative paper.  And it appears in the photo that my vellum is not as white.  Though in real life it looks ok.  I added a small black heart to the red heart.  The original card used a star.  It was pretty but I thought since it was for Valentine's day I would use another heart.

The words here are from the "Delightful Dozen" set.  I added a Real Red heart to cover the black dotted heart.  I used the "Gorgeous Grunge" set for the splatters and splatter dots, and for the black angled stripped strip.

I also layered the front of the card.  This was not intentional but out of desperation.  I had ruined 2 cards prior and decided I would first make a card front and attach it if and when it turned out. You know what they say, "Third time is a charm!"  This was my third attempt and this time I didn't get any of the edges of the stamp on my paper. I did turn the images upside down to ink them and that helped out a lot.  Once I got the card front done I used Dimensionals and attached it to the folded half sheet of card stock.  Kind of a waste of paper but so was ruining them!!!

This card was fun to make (once I got past the mistakes part).  I SO love using the "Gorgeous Grunge" stamp set.  It can give a card a lot of character!

It's TIME for the School of Silly Walks

Many (many) years ago Monty Python's Flying Circus use to be on TV.  I remember watching it when it was in reruns, I was too young for it when it first came out.  I did get most of the British humor but some did slip by!!  LOL  I do remember liking it though.  And one of the things I remember is when John Cleese was in the "School of Silly Walks".  You can find some clips of it in YouTube!  I still find it funny!

While surfing the net I ran across the "School of Silly Walks" clock and it had instructions with it.  I was hoping it would since it is something that can not be made to sell due to copyright laws on the images of John Cleese and the words "School of Silly Walks". So I downloaded the instructions and set forth to work on the clock.  I am planning on redoing it though.  Somehow I got the numbers a bit crooked.  The download has you doing the clock on a square canvas. I may go that route next time.  I had a clock so I thought I would work with it.  The download also has a clock face and a clock face with the torso to print out.  I didn't print it out, I used my Cricut to make the numbers and that is where it all went wrong!

Anyway, I'm sure you want to make one now, don't you?  LOL  If you do you can find the information on how to do it here.

Hubby thought it was cool and it's hanging on the wall in his office! (warts and all!)

En Francais Valentine's Day Card

Quick.  Simple.  Fun.  Three words that best describe this card.  I found a card much like this on Pinterest, you can see it here.  I tried to click on the photo to find more information on the card but it took me to a dead end.  I find that a lot on Pinterest.

I will tell you how I made this version of that card.  First I took a quarter piece of Crumb Cake card stock and stamped the "En Francais" background stamp on it using Soft Suede ink that was stamped off once.  Then I cut the card down to 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" and I used the envelope maker to round the corners.  Then I sponged the edges.

I took a half a paper doily and folded it over the top part of the card. I clipped the corners of it off in the back so they couldn't be seen.

I tied a piece of white Baker's Twine to the card, wrapping it around it 3 times.

I used the hearts Sizzlet and Real Red card stock. I put all the hearts from that Sizzlet on the card, including the tiniest one on the twine.  I used Dimensionals for all the hearts except for the one on the twine, for that one I just used a Glue Dot.

I used Dimensionals on the back of the stamped piece and set it in place on top of a half sheet of card stock that was cut on the short side and then folded in half.

It's a super easy card to make!!!

Painter's Tape Technique and Another Thank You

Today I am going to share another "Painter's Tape" Technique card with you.

This was from a swap I attended at Terri's Tuesday Technique Night.  Once in a while I participate in the swaps.  That is, when I have time to make the cards to swap.  It's hit or miss with me but when I can join in I always come home with some of the most fantastic cards!!!  Many of them are made with products I don't own so it makes having the card even more fun!

I do not know who made this card.  There was no name on the inside to tell me.  The set used here is the clear stamp set called "Another Thank You."  The title on my post makes it sound like I'm posting yet another thank you card!!! And I am!!!  LOL

You can find out how to do the technique here.

It's a very fun technique and I've had a great time making the cards I did using it.

A Fabulous Florets Thank You

I needed to make two thank you cards for my sister-in-laws (twins) so I make them both the same cards.  This was was fun and easy. I first created the background piece by stamping the yellow (Daffodil Delight) flower all over a 1/4 sheet of card stock.  Then I stamped the outlined flower using black StazOn.  I cut the piece at 2-1/2" x 4".  You should be able to get two pieces out of that for two cards.  This technique is called a "One Sheet Wonder".  It's were you stamp all over (usually a full sheet of card stock) and cut pieces off it using it on your cards.  It's a wonder how many cards you can make using that single sheet!

I punched out the black strip using the Ribbon punch. A punch I like to use but don't very often.  Don't ask why, I haven't a clue.

Then I stamped the greens of the flower on a 1/4 sheet of card stock.  I turned the card stock 180 degrees and stamped the image again.  I cut that piece 4-1/2" x 2" and the layer behind it is cut 1/8" larger.

The scallop was punched and a Daffodil Delight circle was punched.  The words were done on my computer.  The words and the flower in the center that is cut out were set in place using Dimensionals.  The card had to have some depth to it.  The light was a bit bright on my card, the flower doesn't really glow!

These were quick, easy and fun cards to make!

A Fabulous Florets Birthday

I love playing with the "Fabulous Florets" set.  I wish it had a punch or die to go with it though.  I had seen a card on the net that just caught my eye so I made my interpretation of it.  I didn't want to make it exactly like the one I found because of the ribbon and other factors.  You can see the original card here.  I really liked the "En Francais" background and the "Hello Doily".  Plus I liked the flower but I did change it a lot.

For my card I used the following:
Fabulous Florets
Hello Doily

En Francais
Simply Sketched
Cherry Cobbler
Smoky Slate
Black StazOn
Always Artichoke
White embossing powder

I did stamp off when doing the background. I wanted the words to be extremely light.

I had originally stamped the green part using Wild Wasabi but it was just too light for the flowers so since I had already cut it out I just colored it in with the Always Artichoke marker  I wasn't going to cut that piece out again, it was the worst to cut out because of all the thin pieces.

The words are from the "Simply Sketched" set and I used the oval punch and oval scalloped punch.  That piece was set in place using Dimensionals.  I am wanting to make another card using that same background but maybe different flowers and different colors too.  It was a fun card to make except for all the cutting.  Which I learned was called "fussy cutting."  Fussy is right!!! LOL
