Rain or Shine Baby Shower Card

At the end of the month I will be in need of a baby shower card.  My daughter-in-law is having a baby (yup, I'm going to be a grandma!) and I am in need of a baby shower card. Actually I will be in need of two.  Her family is also having a shower and I will be attending that one too.  SO this is the first card I have ready.

I used the Rain or Shine set in the new mini catalog.  And the background was done using the boots from the Spring Sampler set.  The cute raindrops in the strip are from the Rain or Shine set as well as the words.  Now I need to find some verbiage for the inside.  And I snuck away here for a second and found a site that has words for inside baby shower cards.  You can find it here.  I'm taking one of them and personalizing it a bit more. I'll print it out on the computer and tape it on a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of card stock inside the card.  I'm going to stamp some boots on the envelope and it will be ready! One down one more to go!

Bordering on Romance and Cio Baby

I had bought the download for the "Bordering on Romance" set.  I wanted the real set but just couldn't swing it on my budget.  So buying the download is almost just as good.  There's a few things I can't do with it that I can do with the rubber stamp but I didn't have great plans for this set so it's ok.

I colored in the flowers with Daffodil Delight.  The leaves were colored in with the soon to retire Certainly Celery.  I'm going to miss that color.  After coloring I punched out the image and then I used the Sizzix die and cut out the scalloped circle.

I added a punched ribbon on top of the decorative paper that came from the "Summer Smooches" pack.  Another fun pack of paper.  Since summer is not that far away (though you couldn't tell it by today with a winter storm hitting us) I can make a few summer cards before these papers retire.  And of course I will share them with you!

The little "Happy Day" words at the bottom are from the "Cio Baby" set.  And punched out with the new matching punch.  It was the first time I got to use those two items.  I need to play with this new stuff more before they retire.  Though I have a feeling these are going to be in the new catalog.

This was a fun card to make. I was in the mood for coloring so I found this fun!  And I must say it was a very easy card to put together too. I'm all for fun and easy too!

A Secret Garden Mother's Day Card

I think this may be the card I'm going to give to my mom. I like the cheery look of it and I like the Rose Red color.

I used a little piece of decorative paper from the "Sunshine & Sprinkles" pack.  Another pack of paper I keep picking away at and there's still lots left.  I swear it multiplies when I'm not looking!!! LOL  Except for the sheets I REALLY like and have used up.  Ever notice that, there's usually one design in the pack that you just love and use it all up and then wish you had more?

The flower is from the "Secret Garden" set.  I just thought it would be pretty to make a single stem flower in a panel.  I like the simplicity of it.  The decorative paper gave the card the "fun" look and the flower gave it the simplicity look.  And of course the words say it all!  The words were done on the computer. I had printed out a full sheet of them and punch then out when I need them.  They fit with the 1/4" punch and they also fit in the oval, that is why I don't punch them out until I need them.  And I finished it off with the Rose Red scalloped circle behind the words.

I think this one is a keeper!

Spring Sampler and Delightful Dozen Mother's Day Card

Once again I had to use some more paper from that cute paper pack in the spring mini catalog.  I have used it a lot but yet have hardly put a dent in the pack.

Today I thought I'd try another Mother's Day card.  The cute little flower came from the "Spring Sampler" set.  And the words are from the "Delightful Dozen" set.

This was an extremely simple card to make.  Just a couple of layers and the word piece.

It's a cute card but not one I'm going to be using.  I'll probably be adding it to the pile for the May garage sale.

Beaded Star Christmas Bulb

Today I am going to share with you a beaded Christmas bulb I designed.  I taught classes for the past two holidays and the students enjoyed making them.

It's an easy design to follow and it does go together rather quickly.

I had fun designing it and even more fun teaching it.

I finally got the pattern put in PDF format so I can make it available for sale in my web store.  You can find the pattern here.

I'll be back to stamping tomorrow!

Thoughts & Prayer Mother's Day Card

Last month I made a card much like this. You can see it here.  What I had done was I didn't like the background I did so I remade it.  I kept the piece I didn't care much for.  And when I had stamped the flower image I huffed on the rubber stamp and stamped it on another piece of card stock and set that aside too.  While picking up things today I ran across those pieces and put them together and made another (yet similar) card.  The only thing that is different is how the wording was done.  But I do have to say that this was a quick card to put together. It's always fun when you find pieces to make a card and then end up with a decent finished card!  I will add this one to the ones I'm going to be selling in the garage sale next month!  It's an easy way to sell Mother's Day cards.  The HUGE garage sale (over 200 homes) brings in lots of shoppers and it's the day before Mother's Day.  A perfect time to sell Mother's Day cards now isn't it?  LOL

Love & Sympathy Mother's Day Card

The "Love & Sympathy" set can be used for lots of other occasions other than just for sympathy cards.  I thought the flower would make a very pretty Mother's Day card.  I'm not overly fond of the background I used but the flower is pretty and with a little work this card could be better.

The colors I used here are Wild Wasabi and Marina Mist.  I actually used markers, no ink pads.  And the words were done on the computer.  Super simple.

This post is short and sweet so you can move on to the next one in your list of cards to see today!

Spring Sampler Mother's Day Card

I thought I would play with the "Spring Sampler" set again.  There's SO many fun images in that set. And they don't just have to be used in the spring either.  Though most of them do have the spring theme. But there are some that will work well with summer, babies, showers and kids, along with all the other spring things.

Anyway today I used the tulip in the set.  Which of course does scream of spring.  It's still too cold here to see the tulips blooming!

I colored in the flower with Regal Rose (a color soon to retire) and Old Olive (not retiring).

The words are from the "Delightful Dozen" set and I stamped them using Regal Rose as well.

The rose is from the mini catalog and is called "Vanilla 5/8" Flower Trim".  You get 2 yards of it.  I cut off a flower and I pushed it into my Regal Rose ink pad.  I set it in place on my card using a Glue Dot.

I had stamped my tulip on a small piece of Very Vanilla and then I cut it short enough on the edges to hide behind a piece of Very Vanilla cut 5-1/8" x 2-1/4".  The piece under it is cut 5-1/4" x 2-3/8" and set in place with Dimensionals.

The decorative paper is from the Sunshine & Sprinkles pack.  A pack that will soon be retiring and I know I won't be using up before that!

This was a very fun and easy card to make. And you get to use those little images in a big way!

Spring Sampler

Today's card was one found on Pinterest.  You can see the original card here.  And of course I changed it a little bit.  I used More Mustard (another color retiring!) and I sponged it a lot.  I believe the original card was made using Daffodil Delight.

This was a fun card to make but some "Bee" wording may have been more fun on it.  I suppose I could have done something on the computer but I never think of those things until I'm all done with the card and I'm seeing it on the computer screen as I'm writing up the post.  At this point it's too late to do much about it other than starting all over and most of the time that is not an option.

I did get to finally play with the honeycomb embossing folder.  I am still not sure why I bought it.  I think it was because I saw a card made with it and the "combs" were filled in with small hexagons.  I wasn't fond of the idea of cutting all of those little hexagons out but I did hear through the grapevine that Archiver's has a punch that is that exact size!!!  I may have to check that one out if I want to get more use out of my folder!

I had made this card over a week ago and it got lost in the pile of papers on my worktable.  I had forgotten about it until I was straightening up stuff.  I'm such a messy stamper!  I hate having to stop stamping to clean up my mess so I just move things over a bit and continue on.  Then when it's time to clean it all up I whine!!! LOL  I need someone to pickup after me!  LOL

Kindness Matters Mother's Day Card

I wanted to make this card for several reasons.  The first one being I LOVE the Pool Party color and two I really liked the looks of this card.  I found it on the net and the link to it lead me to a website but I couldn't find the card there.  Though I did not search for a very long time. I think it would take a little while to locate it. The one who originally posted it didn't give a direct link to the card.  It's difficult to locate the card samples without a direct link.  But you can still go to that site and check out the other cards there.  They're very nice.   I also wanted to make this card because I actually had the matching ribbon.  And I found out today that Pool Party is going to be added to the color line and Bashful Blue will be leaving, along with several other colors.  Stampin' Up! is doing another color revamp but not on a huge scale.  I think it's something like 10 colors are going and 10 are taking their place.  But none of them are brand new.  They are bringing in some old ones.  That's very interesting.

Ok, so now let's talk about this card.  I used the "Kindness Matters" set.  I did change the background.  The original card had the snowflakes background.  I used the Lattice one.  And I did change the words on the card too.  I'm still on a mission to find the perfect mother's day card!!!  Is there one out there?  I'll keep you posted!  LOL

Bright Blossoms Mother's Day Card

I did find this card on the internet by doing a Google search for "Bright Blossoms" stamped cards.  I ton of images came up.  Even ones from Pinterest!  As I was scrolling down, this one caught my eye and I just had to make it.  The original one is a birthday card but with this layout it's easy enough to change it to what you want it to say.

I used the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set to do the words on here.  The paper is from the "Summer Smooches" pack and  I added a strip of Lucky Lime ribbon.  I don't have much for current ribbon so I tend to use retired stuff now and then.  This ribbon is not retired (yet).  This is a very easy card to make and it went together quickly too.  I also like that it's a versatile card.

Just Believe Notes Weekend Project

I have made a number of these fun notebooks in the years.  I found the pattern at Capture the Moment.  You can click here for a link to the directions.

I had a scrap of decorative paper the "Print Poetry" paper pack.  I know I won't get through that pack using scraps!!! LOL  But at least the scrap piece is gone now.  Once again I find that I should have put a layer behind the image. And I'm thinking that I should have used Very Vanilla card stock instead of the Whisper White. But I had run across this notebook and it just needed decorating.  I don't even remember making it or putting it away!  But that doesn't surprise me! LOL  Anyway, the pencil was already wrapped in white paper so I had to go with white.

You can get a good deal on scratch pads at Office Depot, Office Max or Staples.  You just have to shop around.  Sometimes you can go to your local printer and see if they have any for sale too.  I had bought a TON of them a long time ago so I just slowly pick away at the stash.  One of these days I'm hoping to find that I am in need of shopping for more.  But with the amount I have on hand right now and how quickly I am not using them I don't see myself buying anymore for a VERY long time.

These notebooks are very fun to make.  Now I did alter mine a bit from the original pattern.  I made mine shorter because of the size of the scratch pad.  It's extremely easy to adjust the pattern to what size notepads you have.  I also cut my pencil down too. We have a band saw so I just took it out there and cut it off.  You can take a craft knife and mark your length and then just roll the craft knife across the pencil and apply some pressure and when the cut gets about half way through or a bit more, you can snap the pencil on that cut line.  Just sand the end and now you have safely cut a short pencil.  Or you can try to find some short ones at the dollar store!  How ever you make these, they all turn out cute.  I just like the idea of having a pencil holder along with my notepad!

A Bright Blossoms Mother's Day Card

This card nearly did me in!! I was trying to make a card with out layering everything (like I normally do).  I just couldn't stand it so on the image piece I just had to add a layer behind it.  Now I wish I would have added a layer behind the other two pieces.  So all we can do is imagine them being there!! LOL

I used the "Bright Blossoms" set and the "Summer Smooches" decorative papers to make this card.  And the words are from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set.

I stamped the vase using Old Olive and I just glued the flowers on using Crystal Glaze.  That pretty layered piece was set on the card using Dimensionals.

I may give this layout another try but I will definitely be layering the pieces when I do!!! LOL

Stop back tomorrow, I have a fun little project to share with you!

A Bright Blossoms Mother's Day Card

Bright Blossoms is a very fun set to play with.  I'm SO in the mood for flowers right now and this little set has some cute and fun ones.

This card is not my original design.  I know that just surprises you!!! LOL  I wanted to make a Mother's Day card using this set.  I spend a lot of time on Pinterest but this time I just used Google images and a TON of them came up, even ones that are on Pinterest!!!  Makes me wonder if I should continue to use Pinterest or just do a Google search???

Anyway, lets get back to this card.  After all, this is all about me here!  LOL  The card is very simple and quick to make.  And yet it's very pretty.

I used Summer Smooches decorative paper.  Yup, I still have some of that left too.  I know that surprised you too.  It is rare for me to use up a whole pack of decorative paper.  I would like to sometime.  But then again I think that if I use  it up it's because it was fun and then I will just buy another pack and have left over paper when it retires!!! A vicious cycle!!!

After cutting my card stock I punched the edge.  Then I added a 1-1/2" x 3-7/8" strip of decorative paper.

I colored the images in using markers.  I huffed on the image and then stamped them on Whisper White card stock that was cut 3-7/8" x 5-1/8".  And then I stamped the words on.  This could also be used for other occasions as well.  I can see it as a birthday card, a thank you card and a get well card.  All would be bright and cheery!

It is as simple as that.  And I told you it was quick too!  Don't you think it's an adorable card?  I sure did, that is why I wanted to make one and share it with you.  You can see the original card here.
