Peaceful Moments, Wildflower Path, Sympathy Card, Stampin' Up!

WOW, we have now stepped into the New Year. I hope 2023 will be a great year for all of you. I have plans of creating some great posts to share with you.  You can sign up for email notices by looking on the right sidebar to either sign up or follow! I welcome you all.

So for today's card I saw one on Pinterest that sparked my interest and I thought I'd give it a try. I made a few minor changes. You can see the original card here

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. My card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Old Olive card stock for the layer. Then I cut a 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Regals" 6" x 6"  stack. I rarely use these stacks yet I feel I need to purchase them! So I was thrilled to see that this card used a piece of the DSP from that stack.

Next I cut a 2-1/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and I stamped the stem from the "Wildflower Path" set using Old Olive ink. Then I took the other long stem and stamped off once on that image and then onto the focal piece twice on the right and I repeated that for the left side.

The flowers were stamped using Melon Mambo ink and then the highlight part of the flower (which doesn't show up on my card, probably because my ink pad was too juicy) was stamped using the second step stamp.

The little yellow flowers were added using the smallest flower group image from the set and Daffodil Delight ink. I stamped directly onto the focal piece and then stamped two more times. I repeated this too. It's a pretty look with light and dark flowers.

The next Melon Mambo layer was cut at 2-3/8" x 4-3/8" and the Old Olive layer was cut at 2-5/8" x 5-5/8". I taped the focal piece to the Melon Mambo layer. Then I tied some linen thread round it twice and tied a bow. My thread was leftover from an old Paper Pumpkin kit.

The words are from the "Peaceful Moments" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. Then I die cut them using the third smallest circle die (1-5/8") in the "Layering Circles" die set. I also die cut the next larger (1-7/8") using the Old Olive layer for the focal piece. I could have cut it from the larger one but I had already cut a circle from it for a previous card and I put the piece back in my Old Olive folder. The 1-7/8" circle fit nicely, I made sure I centered it and I had no issues.

I glued the Melon Mambo layer to the Old Olive layer and then I taped that piece in place on the front of the card. I lined it up so it was about 1/4" from the top and left side of the DSP.

I taped the two circles together and set them in place on the lower part of the card. Before I set them in place I did cut 6 small squares of Basic White card stock and I glued them together in a set of three. The word piece would sag on the left side without them. They went on top of two Dimensionals on the right and then a dot of glue was added to hold it all in place. The circles laid evenly across the card. And that was it.

This was a fun card to make and simple too. I do like the multi-colored stamping. This card could be used for a number of occasions.

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's floral card,
Wanda
