Snowman Magic, Gift Card Holder, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up! 2022

What is better than a Christmas card? A Christmas card that is also a gift card holder. No more figuring out how to wrap up a gift card, just slip it inside the pocket of the card. Super simple, fun, and quick too. So read on to learn how to make this fun card so you can make them for your friends and family!

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Shaded Spruce card stock. The card stock was cut in half on the short (8-1/2") side so when it was cut the piece measured 4-1/4" x 11".

The piece was scored at 5-1/2" and 8-3/4".  Fold the card in half like usual and fold the shorter scored piece inward as well. This is the pocket to the holder.

I used a 1-1/4" paper punch to make the half-circle on the edge so it's easier to take the gift card holder out. You can use anywhere from 3/4" to 1-1/2" circle punch.  Once the punching was done I glued the two outer edges of the pocket.

Next I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Celebrate Everything" 12" x 12" stack. I taped it to the front of the card.

The words are from the "Snowman Magic" set and were stamped using Poppy Parade ink on a 2-3/8" x 2-3/8" piece of Basic White card stock.

A 2-5/8" x 2-5/8" piece of Shaded Spruce was cut for the layer and the word piece was taped to it.  I set the piece on top of the card to see where it looked best. I held it in place with my thumb and finger and marked a line along the back edge using my fingernail. You can use a stylus if you want. I could see a faint line and I know not to cross that line with my Dimensionals. I added the Dimensionals to the back and I set the piece in place on the front of the card.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was added to the inside and the card was done.

I ended up making two, after cutting the sheet of card stock in half, I thought I might as well make two since I was half way there! They are quick enough to make so why not?

This is a fun gift card holder to make. This layout can be used for birthday or wedding cards too. And it can also hold cash instead of gift cards.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas card,
Wanda
