Hippest Hippos, Very Best Occasions, Birthday Cards, Stampin' Up!

I have been finding a lot of fun cards using the "Hippest Hippos" bundle.  I found this one on Pinterest but I did change it up a bit. You can see the original card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the bottom and the folds is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Subtles" 6" x 6" stack. I taped it to the front of the card.

Next I cut a 5-1/4" x 2-1/2" piece of DSP from the "Rings of Love" 12" x 12" package. A 5-1/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Poppy Parade card stock was cut for the layer behind it. I taped these two pieces together and then taped that to the front of the card.

The hippo is from the "Hippest Hippos" set and was stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I colored her in using my Blender pen and Smoky Slate. I colored my marker on my acrylic block and picked up the color with the Blender pen.  For the tutu, I used Poppy Parade right from the marker, along with the shoes and "fingernails".  I die cut the top part of the umbrella using a scrap piece of DSP that I used for the background. The handle was die cut from a scrap piece of Early Espresso card stock.

The Basic White circle was die cut using the second largest circle in the "Stylish Shapes" set.  Then I die cut a Poppy Parade scalloped circle using the "Layering Circles" die set and the second largest die. I used my blending brush to scrub on some Mint Macaron ink and then I taped the two circles together.

The words are from the "Very Best Occasions" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using black Memento ink.

I die cut some Poppy Parade hearts and Blushing Bride flowers using the dies in the "Hippest Hippos" set.

Now to assemble the front. I added Dimensionals behind the circle piece and set it in place on the front of the card.  Then I added Dimensionals to the back of the hippo and set her in place on the circle.

The word piece was added using Dimensionals on the right and a dot of glue on the left.

The hearts and flowers were set in place with dots of glue. I added crystal rhinestones to the center of each flower and the card was done.

This was a fun card and so darn cute too!!!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
