Love What You Do, Bokeh Dots, Thank You Card, 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Today's card is kind of plain.  I was thinking about coloring in the flowers but when you have green in the background of your image and you add color, you could end up with mud.  I didn't want to make mud today!! Perhaps the Blends markers may work better, they won't lift the watercolor off, they are alcohol base.  I will have to think about it and if I decide to give it a try, I will post it on here!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black. The Mint Macaron is cut 5-1/8" x 3-7/8".

The Whisper White focal piece is cut 4-1/8" x 2-7/8" and the Basic Black layer behind it is cut 4-1/4" x 4".

I stamped the "Bokeh Dots" sparkle image using Mint Macaron ink.  My ink pad is still a bit too juicy and I don't always get a crisp image.  But this one was okay.  I added a post it note to the bottom edge of the sparkle image and stamped the flowers from the "Love What You Do" set using black Memento ink. The words are from the same set and they were also stamped using black Memento ink.

I cut a 1-1/4" x 5-1/8 strip of the dotted Mint Macaron Decorative Series Paper (DSP).  I love the DSP this year, it's not as expensive and it's not the 12" x 12" sheets.  I have yet to use a full pack of the 12" x 12" and I have yet to use up a full pack of 6" x 6" stacks from years past.  And when you only us a little strip like this, UGH, it takes forever!!! LOL   I taped that strip in place on the Mint Macaron piece of card stock. Then I taped that to the Basic Black piece and I taped those to the card base.

I added the Basic Black layer to the focal piece and I set those in place using Dimensionals.  And there you have it.  A kind of blah card.  I am thinking of using the Highland Heather Blends on the flowers and I may just do it. I'll post it if and when I do it.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

Hi Wanda, I don’t think this is a blah Card. I can see this as a Sympathy, Thinking of you, Get Well Card because of its simplicity. Very peaceful. Look forward to seeing your “update”.
