Magical Day, Beautiful Bouquet, Children's Birthday Card, 2018 Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog

I found a fun card on Pinterest using the "Magical Day" stamp set.  I was so excited to play with this card because my granddaughter loves mermaids.  She's 4 and she's very good at it!!! LOL  She wants to be a mermaid when she grows up!  I thought she might have some fun stamping and coloring this image. So before I go out on my own with a stamp set I usually get a few ideas off the net and run with them until I feel the ideas come in.

I didn't use the wording and the or the netting that was used on the original card. I moved the seahorses apart a bit more too.  I also added some tiny pearls above each of the seahorses.

The wavy things are from the "Swirly Bird" bundle dies.
The paper is from the "Myths and Magic" Decorative Series Paper (DSP).  I cut that piece 3-3/4" x 5". The Tranquil Tide piece behind it is cut 4" x 5-1/4". And the base of the card is a folded half sheet of Crumb Cake.  I stamped the image and the words on Whisper White card stock and the seahorses were stamped and die cut from Crumb Cake card stock.

It's a pretty simple card to make, most of the work was done!!!  Ya gotta love those matching dies!

I colored in the mermaid using the Bermuda Bay new Blends pens.  So easy to color with those new alcohol markers.  Remember the Blender Pens?  These are much like them except the cover is much easier to remove and the tips seem to be nicer and not so easy to squish down.

The words are from the "Beautiful Bouquet" set and I layered them with a scalloped oval of Crumb Cake. I set the words and the seahorses in place using Dimensionals.

I can't wait to make more mermaids with my granddaughter.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
