A Sparkly Season and Sleigh Ride Christmas Card

I really need to learn to take better photos.  The words at the bottom are really straight and there is not that big of a gap between the top and the bottom of the blue showing.  It's the angle of the card and camera.  It's me!!!  But even if it were crooked, I know that you would make yours straight!!  LOL

This was a fun card to make.  It looks much better in person.  The globe has a window sheet on top of it.  I used the "Sparkly Season" set to make the snow part inside the globe.  I had taken a clear block and inked it up with Pacific Point.  I misted it and then stamped directly onto my Whisper White card stock.  Then when it dried, I stamped the snow using Whisper White Craft ink.   I cut it out with the 2-3/8" Circle Framelits Die.

Next I used my "Sleigh Ride" Framelits Dies and cut out the sliegh and horse image.  I set the sleigh piece over my snow background circle and lined it up to where I wanted it and I taped it in place.  Then I cut it out using the 2-3/8" Circle Framelits Die.  I also cut a Window Sheet using that same die.

The base of the globe was stamped using VersaMark and I embossed it using silver embossing powder.  I taped it to the bottom of the globe.

The background snowflakes was made using the snowflake image from the Perpetual Calendar set.  I stamped off on each snowflake.  That piece was cut 3-3/4" x 5".  I set the globe in place using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Happy Scenes" stamp set.  I trimmed them up and rounded the corners with a circle punch.  I added Dimensionals to the back and was just about to set it in place when I noticed how light it looked. It would get lost.  It needed a layer. So I cut a 5/8" piece of Pacific Point card stock and then I added the words on top of that.  Then I taped that piece to the card.

I layered the focal piece on top of a piece of Pacific Point that was cut 5-1/4" x 4". And the base of the card is Whisper White.

I do like how this card turned out!!! It's about time!  Sometimes I feel like I've lost my Mojo.  I've copied so many other cards on the net and sometimes I can't be creative or think up my own cards!  I did surf the net and I managed to come up with this!!!  YAY!!!

Thank you ever so much for stopping by today,
Wanda

Hello and thank you for posting this and for giving the construction detail. It really helped me design my card for this year, ten years later. It's a beautiful card all these years later. Merry Christmas! MJB
