Perfectly Penned Papillon Potpourri

I decided not to make a Halloween card but I do want to wish you a Happy Halloween!  I also decided not to make a Halloween card for today.  I'm all Halloween carded out!!! LOL  I made quite a few Halloween cards this month and I don't usually do that many!  So I thought I would make the last thank you card I needed to get done instead.

I had found this card on Pinterest and I had closed the window before I copied the link over.  The original card used a larger butterfly and the butterfly was up a bit higher on the card.  I thought I would put the butterfly in the "U" shaped area.  I assumed that was why that area was cut like that.

The original card did not have a creator on it and the link to it actually lead to Stampin' Up!'s Stampin' Connection site.  That site is for demonstrators only but I did get that far in hopes of finding who created this fun card.

The original card also had ribbon running across the front where I have the textured white strip.  I didn't have any thin Calypso Coral ribbon or I would have added it.

This card was easy to make.  I first cut the Basic Black card stock in half on the short side.  Then I folded it in half.  I cut off some of the black card stock (1-3/4" too be exact).  Then I cut my decorative paper and added just a little bit of tape to hold it in place.  I used the 1-1/2" circle cutter and punched the half circle.  Then I took a piece of scrap copier paper and set it behind the decorative paper and used the 1-3/4" circle cutter and cut a little more off the circle.  Then I taped that piece in place.

I punched the scallop piece and added that white strip to it.

The words are from the "Perfectly Penned" set and the butterfly is from the "Papillon Potpourri" set.  And my color of ink is the Calypso Coral.

I can see making a set of these as a gift.  The "Perfectly Penned" set has enough words to make a set of 4 different cards.  Hmmm, I may just have to try that.  Like I said, it's an easy card to make and quick too!

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
