Snowy Wonder, Take a Bow, Sophisticated Sled, Snowy Scenes, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

 

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun Christmas card to share with you. I had found the layout on Pinterest and wanted to give it a try. You can see that card here. I went to the website and tried to find any measurements but I had no luck. Please read on to see how I made the card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. I cut a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic White and I textured it using the "Snowflake Sky" embossing folder. Then I cut it to 4" x 5-1/4". I glued it to the front of the card.

The strips were done next. I used the Designer Series Paper (DSP) "Take a Bow" 6"stack and cut them at 4-3/4" x 1" and 4-1/4" x 1/2".  I glued them in place on the front of the card. The larger one is about 3/8" from the left edge and the green one is about 1" from the left edge.  

Next I cut the circles using the 9th and 10th die from the "Deckled Circles" set. The large one is of Real Red card stock and the smaller one is from the "Take a Bow" stack. I also cut one using the smaller die on a piece of Basic White card stock. I taped the DSP circle to the Real Red circle. I tore the Basic White circle and taped one piece on top of the other circles and on the other side of that Basic White circle I tore a smaller piece and taped that on top of the other piece of Basic White torn piece.

The snowman is from the "Snowy Scenes" DSP 12" x 12" package. I used the matching die from the "Snowy Wonder" bundle. I fussy cut two trees from that same package of DSP. I added tape and slipped the bottoms under the torn Basic White piece. Tape was added to the snowman and it was slipped under the top torn Basic White piece. I added Dimensionals to the back of the circles and set it in place on the front of the card about 1" up from the bottom edge.

The words are from the "Sophisticated Sled" bundle and were stamped using Garden Green ink. I cut them out using the die from the "Greetings of the Season" bundle. The dies in that set are tags. I add a Dimensional to the left side and tape to the right. I set the piece in place on top of the circle at angle. A double bow of red and white Baker's Twine was tied and glued in place.

For a final touch I added some of the cute Peppermint Candies embellishments.  I'm SO glad I got mine when I did, they are still sold out (again). We all need to contact Stampin' Up! and beg them to bring them back next year.  Anyway, the card is done and I think it's got a very festive look to it.  I could have made the background behind the snowman a bit more wintery but I do like how festive the stripes make it.

Greetings of the Season, Sophisticated Sled, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a pretty card to share with you. I found it on Pinterest. It is originally the cover of a box so I had to improvise a very tiny bit. You can see that box here. Please read on to see how I made the card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Real Red card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4' x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White and taped it to the inside.

Then I cut a 3-1/4" x 4-3/4" piece of Basic White card stock for the layer on the front. On top of that is a 4-1/4" x 3" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Take a Bow" 6" x 6" stack. I taped it to the Basic White piece and then I taped that to the front of the card, I centered it as much as I could by eyeing it.

Next I cut the tag from the "Greetings of the Season" bundle using Basic White card stock.

The sled and all the other components to it were cut next. They are from the "Sophisticated Sled" bundle.  The runners on the sled and the blades on the skates were cut using silver foil card stock.  The skates were cut using Basic White card stock. The laces were cut using a scrap of Real Red card stock. The bed of the sled was cut using Pecan Pie card stock. The greenery was cut using Old Olive and Garden Green card stock. 

The words are from the same "Sophisticated Sled" bundle and were stamped using Early Espresso in on a scrap piece of Crumb Cake card stock. Then they were cut using the small die from the "Greetings of the Season" bundle.

I glued the sled together. The greenery was added next. I cut the Old Olive one in half and glued the pieces separately.  The laces were glued into the slit on the skates and they were glued to the front of the sled.

I took a piece of ribbon (retired) and thread it through the large white tag and then through the word tag. A piece of the Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine was tied into a bow around the ribbon. I tied a knot first so it would stay and then I tied the bow. I added a little it of glue to the knot on the bow so it stayed in place. I used school glue for that because the Mono glue can be a bit sticky when it dries. (ever try to get that glue off your fingers?  UGH!!)  

Once the pieces were all in place I added tape to the back of the large white tag and set it in place on the front of the card and the card was done. 

This is such a pretty card and I love how it turned out. I also like the green one that was on the original post. I may have to give that one a try later in the week.

Sparkling Snowflakes, Snowflake Sky, One of a Kind, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a Christmas card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "So Swirly" embossing folder. I glued that to the front of the card. I use glue because tape doesn't cover all the indentations on the back and you don't get a good adhesion. I don't feel it sticks as well anyway.

Next I took a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock and I stamped the three little snowflakes from the "One of a Kind" bundle using Pool Party ink. I cut a 7/8" x 4" strip from that piece. I cut several of them so I could make more than one card.

I took another 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock and I textured it using the "Snowflake Sky" embossing folder. I cut the strip on the left at 1" x 4" and the right strip at 1/2" x 4".  

A 3" x 4" piece of Pool Party was cut and  I glued the three strips in place on it. Then I glued that to the front of the card.

The words are from the "Sparkling Snowflakes" set using Pool Party ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using a die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. I set the piece in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals. 

I die cut the snowflake from the "One of a Kind" bundle using Basic White card stock. I added a small Dimensional behind it and set it in place on the front of the card. A little rhinestone was added to the center of the snowflake and the card was done. 

This was a very fun card to make and I really like the colors.

Sparkling Snowflakes, Frozen Edges, One of a Kind, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a snowflake Christmas card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

On the front of the card I used my blending brush and Pool Party ink and scrubbed the color in about half way up.

I took a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2"piece of Basic White and I cut it using the die from the "Frozen Edges" die set. I just guessed at how far I wanted it up on that piece.  This will depend on the wording you are going to use. 

The words are from the "Sparkling Snowflakes" set and were stamped using Pool Party ink.

I glued the "Frozen Edges" piece in place. I didn't want to use tape because I was afraid it might rip some of the delicate detailed snowflakes. 

Next I took some scrap pieces of Basic White card stock and I lightly scrubbed on some Pool Party ink. I cut out the snowflakes using the die from the "One of a Kind" bundle. I glued them in place on the upper part of the card. Then I had an after thought. Being the wording mentioned sparkle, I thought the snowflakes should sparkle so I took my Wink of Stella pen and colored the snowflakes. It didn't show up in the picture but they do have a nice shimmer to them.

This was a very fun and quick card to make. I like how soft it looks.

Sophisticated Sled, Snowy Scenes, Peekaboo Flap Technique, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

 Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun card to share with you. The technique is called the "Peekaboo Flap".  I found it on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. If you click through there's even a PDF file you can download for free that will show you how it's made. Please read on to see how I made today's card. 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Garden Green card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock for the inside (don't tape it in place yet.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) was cut next. It measures 5-1/4" x 4" and is from the "Take a Bow" 6" x 6" stack. I taped it to the front of the card. Then I cut the center out using the 4th largest die in the "Countryside Corners" set. 

Using the same die I cut a Pool Party piece and textured it using the "Snowflake Sky" embossing folder. 

The piece that will be placed on top of the textured piece was cut from Basic White card stock using the 5th largest die in the set. Using Pool Party ink and my Blending Brush I scrubbed on some color. I glued the two pieces together.

I fussy cut the globe from the "Snowy Scenes" 12" x 12" package of DSP. On the other side of the globe sheet is the pretty snowflake piece. I cut that strip at 1-1/2" x 5".  I snipped the top to give it the two points. I folded the piece so the top part was 4" long, from the tip to the fold. I glued the 1" of the folded piece to the back center of the Basic White piece. I'll give you a little tip on how I found center quickly and got the piece on straight. Making sure my fold was straight helped with that. On the upper part of the Basic White piece I found center and just touched the edge a bit with my fingernail to make the tiniest dent on the top. I eyed the center of the arrow/ribbon end and taped the bottom part in place. You can also measure 1-7/8" from either side of the Basic White piece and taped the back 1" of the strip in place. 

Once the strip is in place then I taped the Basic White piece to the inside of the card. I slipped the ribbon piece through the opening of the front of the card. 

I taped the Pool Party layered piece in place on the ribbon. Make sure you only place the tape where the ribbon is in the opening. I used a lot of tape there. 

Next I stamped the words on the globe. They are from the "Sophisticated Sled" bundle using black Memento ink. My pad was just recently inked so it was a bit juicy and made the words thicker. The I added the globe using Dimensionals. 

For the final touch I added a bunch of the cute little snowflakes from the "White Loose Snowflakes" container. And the card was done.

I thought this was a fun card to make. I would rather have had something else for the background on the card base but I was limited in colors with my DSP. Maybe if I would have switched the ribbon strip color for the green snowflake color.  Hmmm, sounds like it might be prettier.  But I think I was looking at colors and found the center might be too washed out that way. Oh well, it is what it is. It was still fun to make.

Sophisticated Sled, Take a Bow, Wildflower Designs, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a Christmas card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Real Red card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut two 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic White card stock. One I taped to the inside and the other I textured using the "Snowflake Sky" embossing folder. I glued that to the front of the card.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) was cut next. It's from the "Take a Bow" 6" x 6" stack. I cut it at 1-3/4" x 4" and the Real Red layer behind it was cut at 2" x 4-1/4". I taped the two together and glued them to the front of the card about 5/8" from the top, fold and bottom. 

Next I cut the scalloped piece using a die from the "Wildflower Designs" bundle using Basic White card stock. I glued the frame piece in place on the center of the card. Before I glued the center piece in I stamped it using the words from the "Sophisticated Sled" bundle. Real Red ink was used for that.

The reindeer is from the "Reindeer Days" 12" x 12" package of DSP and was fussy cut. It was then set in place on the front of the card.

To finish off the card I used the "Red & White Adhesive-backed Peppermints" embellishments. I just love those things. I hope Stampin' Up! brings them back next year, they're just to cute. And the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I love all the red and white on it.

Christmas Labels, Take a Bow, Joyful Images Ephemera, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a quick and easy Christmas card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Take a Bow" 6" x 6" stack. I taped it to the front of the card.

Next I cut the strips. The strips are from different piece of DSP from the same stack. I cut them at 1/2" x 3-3/4". And the Basic White layers behind them were cut at 3-3/4" x 4". I taped the strips together and then taped them to the front of the card. The top one is about 1" from the top and there's about 1/8" space between them. You can make the space as large as you wish. I chose that distance because I wanted the image to fit within it.

The circle image is from the "Joyful Images Ephemera" package. I set it in place using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Christmas Labels" bundle and were stamped using Garden Green ink on a piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using a die from the same bundle. I set them in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.

This was such a quick card to make. I LOVE layers and this card had just enough layers to please me! LOL

Sophisticated Sled, Take a Bow, Wildflower Designs, Reindeer Days, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a gift card holder Christmas card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Take a Bow" 6" x 6" stack. I taped it to the card base.

The "Z" fold piece was cut at 4-1/4" x 9" and it was scored at 3" and 6".  On the front of the "Z" fold piece I taped a 2-3/4" x 4" piece of DSP from the same stack. 

Next I made the pocket. It's a 3-1/4" x 3" piece of DSP that was scored on the sides at 1/4" and 3". Once scored it measured 2-3/4" x 3".  I used my bone folder on the score lines and then I glued them plus the bottom edge to the inside of the "Z" fold piece. Allow the glue to dry some before you slip in a gift card. If you're like me you want to see the card in the pocket right away. 

On the front I taped a piece of Basic White card stock that was cut using the die from the "Wildflower Designs" bundle. I glued both pieces in place. I said both pieces because the die cuts the frame and the center at the same time. I just lined up the frame with the edges of the DSP and I glued it in place.

Before gluing the center part in place I stamped it using the wording from the "Sophisticated Sled" bundle and Real Red ink. I glued the "Z" fold piece to the front of the card

I fussy cut a deer from the "Reindeer Days" 12" x 12" package. I set it in place using Dimensionals.

A few peppermint candy embellishments were added to the front and the card was done.

This is such a super easy gift card holder to make. I love the red and white, it really says "Christmas".

Reindeer Days, Snowflake Sky, Perennial Postage, Sophisticated Sled, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a Christmas card to share with you that I found on the internet. You can see the original card here.  The card there is part of a purchased PDF so I don't think I can give measurements.  But I will give you the materials list because it's obvious by looking at the card that was posted there.

The base is a half-sheet of Real Red card stock. There's a layer of Basic White. Then a layer of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Reindeer Days" 12" x 12" package. On top of that is a piece of Basic White card stock that I textured using the "Snowflake Sky" embossing folder. 

The deer are from the same "Reindeer Days" DSP package and were fussy cut. They are set on top of the Basic White die cut piece from the "Wildflower Designs" bundle. 

The words I used are from the "Sophisticated Sled" bundle and were stamped using Real Red ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using a die from the "Perennial Postage" package. I set it in place using Dimensionals.

Red and White Baker's Twine was used and some Red & White peppermints were added.  A

a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was added to the inside for writing on. 

I thought this was a fun card to make. I love all the red and white. And you can't beat those little peppermint candies. They were available the first part of October. I'd check every day. We were out of town and I checked and they were back in stock but I couldn't order them because I was out of town and the internet connection I had was not secure. UGH. And it wasn't until last week they came available again so I ordered 2 packages. I found out the next day they were sold out again. I hope Stampin' Up! realizes how popular these cuties are and brings them back next season.

Sophisticated Sled, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun Christmas card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a 4"x 5-1/4" piece of Smoky Slat for the layer and a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock for the top layer. I textured it using the "Snowflake Sky" embossing folder. I glued it to the Smoky Slate piece and then I taped that to the card base.

Next I made the sled using the "Sophisticated Sled" bundle. I used Early Espresso for the runners on the sled and Pecan Pie for the bed. I glued the bed to the runners. 

The greenery was cut next. I used Shaded Spruce, Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive card stock. I cut each one in half and glued them in place on the upper part of the sled. 

Then I made the skates. I cut them using Basic White card stock and the laces were cut using Basic Black card stock. I glued the laces in place. I also cut two blade using silver card stock and I glued them in place. I set the skates together and added Dimensionals to the back. 

I took a piece of black Baker's Twine and glued it to the center of the greenery and I let the ends hang down. I removed the backing from the Dimensionals on the back of the skates and I set them in place on the front of the card. I made sure the strings were under each skate to make it look like it was hanging from each one.

I had some gold ribbon so I tied a bow and glued it on top of the greenery.

The words are from the same bundle and were stamped using black Memento ink. I cut them out using the "Perennial Postage" dies. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.

I colored some crystal rhinestones using the dark Real Red Blends Pen and I set them in place on the greenery and the word piece. And that was it, the card was done.

I just love using this set. The skates are so cute and they look great on the sled. You can't go wrong with a card like this.

Season of Green & Gold, Christmas Labels, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a quick and easy Christmas card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4' piece of Old Olive card stock for the layer. On top of that is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White that was textured using the "Distressed Tile" embossing folder. My piece was a quarter sheet and I trimmed it after embossing because the piece can sometimes not remain the same size as cut before texturing. I glued the embossed piece to the Old Olive piece and then I taped that to the front of the card.

Next I fussy cut the mistletoe piece from the "Season of Green & Gold" 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP). And I cut two bells from the same package. There are die cuts for greenery but I didn't purchase it, I just purchased the DSP. I glued the two bells together. I set the smaller one on top of the larger one to hide the bottom side. It was an edge piece and a little bit of the bell was missing. I didn't want to toss out that piece so I cut the bell and just covered the part that was missing.

The words are from the "Christmas Labels" bundle and were stamped using Old Olive ink. I cut the out with a matching die. I cut one of Old Olive card stock too. I felt the word piece needed a layer behind it. I just snipped the little spot on each corner. I taped the words to the Old Olive piece. Dimensionals were added to the back and I lightly set the piece on top of the card. 

I added a little bit of glue to the leaves and slipped the mistletoe piece under the word piece. Before the glue set, I had added glue to the bells and slipped them under the mistletoe piece and the card was done. I had thought about adding some embellishment but I liked it just the way it was.

This was a very fun, quick and easy card to make.

Sophisticated Sled, Greetings of the Season, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I have been having SO much fun playing with the "Sophisticated Sled" bundle. I have created many cards and copied many cards using it. Today is a "copy" day. I found this card on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. There were no instructions on how it was made so please read on to see how I put it together. 

The base of my card is a half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. 

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Real Red card stock for the top layer. I stamped the words from the "Greetings of the Season" bundle using black Memento ink.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the 6" x 6" "Iconic Celebrations" package. I cut it at 1-1/2" x 5-1/4". I taped it to the Real Red piece and then I taped that to the front of the card.

Next the circle was cut using a die from the "Spotlight on Nature" bundle. I taped it in place on the front of the card.

Then came the sled pieces. First I cut the skates using scraps of Basic White card stock. You could cut them when you do the circle but I didn't think of that at the time. Then I cut the sled runners and the skate laces from Real Red card stock. The greenery was cut from Garden Green card stock, you need two of those and the sled was cut using Pecan Pie card stock.  I also cut the blades of the skates using some silver foil card stock I had. I glued the laces to the skates and set them aside to dry.

I taped the bed of the sled to the runners. Then the greenery was added. I took some red and white Baker's Twine and tied a double bow and glued it to the center of the greenery. My twine was 12" long and I folded it in half before I tied the double bow. 

When added the skated I made sure I had the ends of the red and white bow under them to make it look like they were hanging up by it. 

And lastly I took a 6" piece of jute and tied a knot at each end. I trimmed the ends just a little so they looked even and I glued it to each side of the upper part of the sled bed. And the card was done.

This was such a fun card to make and I'd love to make more but I have so many other ones I want to try before that happens.

Sentimental Christmas, Regal Floral, Greetings of the Season, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a quick Christmas card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock. It was textured using the "Snowflake Sky" embossing folder.  I glued it to the card base.

Next I cut two pieces of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Take a Bow" 6"x 6" stack. They measure 2" x 3" each. I glued them to the front of the card. The top piece is about 5/8" from the edge and 5/8" from each side. The bottom piece is 5/8" from the bottom edge and each side. 

The stocking is an image from the "Sentimental Christmas" 12" x 12" package of DSP.  I used the die from the "Regal Floral" bundle to cut it out. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front center of the card.

The words are from the "Greetings of the Season" bundle and were cut using the smallest stitched circle from the "Stylish Shapes" set. I set it in place using Dimensionals on the right side and tape on the left.

I had some green ribbon so I tied a double bow and glued it to the top of the stocking piece and the card was done.

This was a super quick and easy card to make.
