Hang Your Stocking, Christmas Stockings, Candy Cane Lane Decorative Paper Christmas Card

I had some fun playing with the "Candy Cane Lane" Decorative Series Paper (DSP).  The background on this paper is not one of my favorites, I rarely use the Crumb Cake card stock, but I do like it on this layout.  How fun!!!

I cut my DSP 2-1/4" x 4-1/4".  I cut two of them.  For the Real Red layers, I cut them 1/8" larger.  I used the oval die and oval scalloped die for the stocking to be attached to.

I die cut the stocking using the swirly stocking, the solid stocking, the toe and heal dies and the cuff.

For that cute little bow on the stocking, I took the red glittery piece off the Baker's Twine and tied it in a little bow and trimmed it up.  Well, it's not actually a bow.  I just took pieces and tied them together and trimmed them.  I just saved my scrap pieces of twine and removed the white twine and kept the red part.  I thought it was a new and different touch to a card!! I set the stocking in place using Dimensionals.  The oval was set in place with Dimensionals too.

This was a super simple card to make.  The most difficult part was tying the red fringy stuff together, and it really wasn't that bad to do.  But everything else on the card was super simple!!

Wetlands, Thinking of You Card, Pop of Pink Washi Tape

Do you need a card quickly?  Grab your Washi tape and you're half way there!

I used the "Pop of Pink" Washi tape and tied some gold thread around the 4" x 5-1/4" piece of card stock.

I stamped the words from the "Wetlands" set and punched them out with the label punch. I also punched out a Melon Mambo piece and cut it in half. I did trim the center edges so they wouldn't show from the front.  I taped them to the word panel and set them in place on the card using Dimensionals.  

I set the panel in place using Dimensionals as well.  The base of the card is a folded half sheet of Whisper White card stock.

And that was it. I was able to get the card made and out in the mail before the mail carrier arrived!!!  Yay!!!

So, if you need quick card or just want to make a quick card, just grab your Washi tape and have dome fun!

Hang Your Stocking, Christmas Stockings, Christmas Card

Okay, I'm liking this card too.  I think it's because it's in the fun and festive red, green and white that I typically find appealing at Christmas time!

I used some new "Fancy Frost" Specialty Designer Series Paper.  That pack has some great textures in it.  This paper allows you to put a card together in no time. The background is already done!!!  Gotta love that!

For this card I thought I would not fill in the snowflake on the stocking.  I set it in place on a piece of decorative paper from the "Warmth & Cheer" 6" x 6" Paper Stack.  There's lots of pages in those little stacks!!! I have yet to use one up!

I added a piece of the new red ribbon.  The square that the stocking is set on was put in place using Dimensionals.  The measurements on that square is 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" for the Real Red piece and 2-1/4" x 3" for the decorative paper.

The words were stamped in Real Red and die cut with the oval Framelits. The Garden Green layer behind it was cut using a scallop oval Framelit.

Click on the photo and you can see the little clear enamel dot in the center of the snowflake.  

This was a quick, fun and very festive card to make!

Star of Light, Christmas Card

My friend Katie left me with her "Star of Light" stamp set and matching dies for an hour or so!!  I looked through the net to find something that would catch my eye using this set and this is what I found on Pinterest.  Though the original card had some glitter paper on each side, under the front panel.  At least that is what it appeared to me to look like. You can see the original card here.

This was a very simple card to make and it would still be simple with the pieces of glitter paper on each side. I'm okay without it on this card, it makes it a more clean and simple looking card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.

The focal panel was cut out using the starburst die.  Then the words were stamped using Versa Mark and silver embossing powder.

The star in the center was die cut using silver glitter paper.  A rhinestone was added to the center. That focal panel was set in place using Dimensionals.  And that was pretty much it.  I told you it was simple!

Hang Your Stocking Christmas Card

This card is right out of the 2016 Holiday catalog on page 15. It's easy enough to figure out and super easy to make.

And once again, I used stamps to make this card.  Stamps and the dies!!!  I am so stuck on using glitter paper so when it comes to using card stock, I think it looks dull.  But when I make a few with just card stock I'm okay with it. But I have to move the glitter paper out of the way or it will catch my eye and I'll think the card stock looks dull!!! LOL

This was a fun card to make, go to page 15 in the holiday catalog and make one your self!!

September 2016 Paper Pumpkin Kit Alternate Halloween Card

Here is another fun card I found on Pinterest using the September 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit.  I think it's fun to find these little gems using the stamps from a kit to make additional or alternate cards.  Though this set contained the test tubes, I didn't find it necessary to go looking for something else to make instead of what was in the kit.  When I find these little gems, I like to try to reproduce them.

I pretty much copied this as I saw it on Pinterest but I did add a black frame around the words, I thought it needed a that.

This was a fun and easy card to make.

I used Crumb Cake card stock and ink.  The ink on the pumpkins was stamped off once and then the bottom part of the pumpkin was inked regular.

The pumpkin in the circle was done using Peekaboo Peach and Pumpkin Pie.  The circle layer is Garden Green.  I set it in place with Dimensionals.  Behind that was some left over linen thread from the kit.  The words are also set in place using Dimensionals.  The rest of the layered items were just taped in place.

This was a very fun and easy card to make.

September 2016 Paper Pumpkin Friendship Card Alternate

Here's a little gem I found on Pinterest.  I didn't change the card much at all.  I LOVED the look of this card and it was made with things left over in the September 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit. This kit had the 16 test tubes in it to decorate and fill with your own candy.  I had fun with the test tubes and I had fun making this card too!!! You can see the original card here.  

The sunflower image is included in the kit. The background was done using the petals image from the sunflower. I used it on an entire quarter sheet of card stock.  That way I could make 2 cards.

The striped looking paper in the middle is actually the sticky strip pieces from the kit.  The only thing different I did with this card was I trimmed the end of one of the strips so the color bands continued to alternate so it looked like one piece instead of 2.  

The base of the card is a folded half sheet of Whisper White card stock. The colored top part is Crushed Curry and Crushed Curry ink was used to stamp the petals.  Then Pumpkin Pie ink was used in the center of the flower at the bottom.  The words from the kit were stamped using Old Olive ink.  And that was it.  SUPER easy and extremely fun!!! I had a great time making this card.

Cookie Cutter Halloween Card

This was a very fun card to make (copy!). The original was made by Sandy at the "Stamp n' Scrap Shop".  I was thrilled to find out that I had most of the stuff to make it.  I think the only thing I didn't have was the black and white Baker's Twine.  All I had was black, so I just made do with what I had. 

I did add Pear Pizzazz marker to the skeleton's eyes.  I thought it could use a bit of color.

The brick paper is from the "Halloween Night" Specialty Paper pack.  There's LOTS of fun papers in that pack.

I remember when I was looking at the cute gingerbread boy shaped punch, I was only going to buy that.  But then I thought I should get the "Cookie Cutter Halloween" set. It was just too cute, plus it was in a bundle so I could save some money on it.  And paging further through the Holiday Catalog, I found the "Cookie Cutter Christmas" set and had to get it as well.  I don't have any plans on playing with it this week, I have other thing going on. Hopefully next week.  I know it's a bit early for Christmas stuff, but I get Christmas sets and I don't end up playing with them enough and then at the end of December they are retired.  So, I'm going to try to play with all of my new holiday stuff until I feel like I've played with it enough or until I'm sick of playing with them!!!   It could happen, not very likely, but it could!!! LOL

Hang Your Stocking Noel Christmas Card

This card is a little too busy for me.  I think it's that striped background that is the problem. 

The Noel is from the "Christmas Stockings" Thinlits dies.  I cut the letters off from the line they were attached to.  I had used the red glitter paper to do the letters.

The stockings were cut using the small stocking die and the Dazzling Diamonds glitter paper.

I set the letters in place with Dimensionals. They sit on a circle and a scalloped circle which are taped directly onto the decorative paper.  That busy paper came from the "Presents & Pinecones" Designer Series Paper pack.

I added a strip of "Candy Cane Lane" Washi tape and tied a couple of pieces of Candy Cane Lane Baker's Twine around the card.  And to finish it off I added a couple enamel dots.

A very simple, quick and busy card!!!

Paper Pumpkin Alternate Halloween Card

Here's a fun card I came up with some left over stuff from the September 2016 Paper Pumpkin.

I just stamped the pumpkin on two of the hexagon pieces and the "Happy Halloween to you" on another one.  I had set them in place with Dimensionals. I used the extra strips on the background layer.

That background layer is a piece of Smoky Slate and I stamped the "Happy Halloween to you" using Smoky Slate ink.  I cut it 4" x 5-1/4".  I used a folded half sheet of Pumpkin Pie card stock for the base of the card. And that was it.  Super simple. Super fun!!!  Oh and it was super quick too!  I loved it that Stampin' Up! added a lot of extra pieces in the kit.  It's a fun one!

Hang Your Stocking Christmas Card and Spray Technique

It's always good to play with the other images in the stamp set.  I don't often do that.  I tend to play with the few I really like and don't bother with the other images. So today I thought I would give some of those other images a try!!! Like that little stamped stocking.  I've been playing a lot with the Thinlits and not so much with the stamping.

This card has a lot of fun elements.  I used a jingle bell, some red Baker's Twine, a paper doily and pompom ribbon.  

For my technique here, I took some rubbing alcohol and put it in a misting bottle.  I added about 10 to 15 drops of Emerald Envy inker, shook it up to mix it and sprayed the Dazzling Diamonds glitter paper. If you don't completely saturate the paper, the center will remain white to light color. I even turned my pieces over and sprayed the back to get a better saturation.  If you are going to use this on your card, do it first so it has time to dry while you work on your card.  What's fun about this is, you have lots of different colors of inkers, that means you have lots of different colors of glitter paper!!!!  How fun is that?  Imagine the doors that just opened up here!!!  

The base of my card is Basic Black.  A non traditional Christmas color for a card.  Crumb Cake was the layer on top.  My decorative paper came from the "Candy Cane Lane" Designer Series Paper pack.  It was a fun card to make!!! I love the busyness of it!  It keeps my eye moving around the card.

September 2016 Paper Pumpkin Kit

September's Paper Pumpkin kit was SO much fun.  I LOVED the idea of using the test tubes and decorating them. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them but I'm sure I will find 16 people to give them to!! Filled with candy of course!!!

The kit came with some twine you tie in a bow at the top. There is striped strips that you stick on the tube.  Then you stamp the elongated hexagons.  Some of them have a design at the top and some are blank.  You set them in place with glue dots and that's it.  Well, you should fill them with something fun and yummy!!!

There's lots of pieces left over to stamp on and make card elements with.  I have a couple more cards I'll be showing you soon.

Hang Your Stocking Christmas Card

This was a very fun card to make.  I wanted my background smooth but yet I wanted some color on it.  So I had stamped the snowflakes from the "Hang Your Stocking" set but I didn't think it was enough color. So I took a misting bottle and added rubbing alcohol and some Emerald Green inker.  I shook it up until it was mixed well.  I sprayed the paper and let it dry.  It was just enough of a splash of green to give the background the bit of color I was hoping for.  Click on the photo to see a closer view.

Next I worked on the strips of decorative paper.  I cut a strip and tore the ends. I taped it in place on the card. Then I worked up the cut doily piece.  I attached the doily to the paper strip and it was set in place with Dimensionals.  

I die cut the stocking using the glitter paper.  The leaves and berries were stamped and then die cut. 

The words were stamped using the Emerald Green ink pad. It was die cut and taped to a scalloped die cut circle of Real Red card stock.  The sparkly snowflake was taken from a red stocking I had die cut.  I save all the pieces from these die cuts!!!  Some I will be putting in recycling, but not yet!!!  Anyway, the words were set in place with Dimensionals.

I added some enamel shapes to the card for a little more bling and then I called it done!!

In the Meadow Spritz Your Color Technique

This is one of the cards I received in a swap using the "Spritz Your Color" technique.  You can find the instructions for this technique here.   

This card was made by Tanya.  She used the "Petal Burst" embossing folder for the background on the Flirty Flamingo card stock.  I do not know what colors she used for her spritzing but I can guess that they are the in colors, Flirty Flamingo, Dapper Denim, and Emerald Envy.

The tree is from the "In the Meadow" stamp set.  

This is a very fun technique to play with.  Grab your spritzer bottles, inkers, and rubbing alcohol and go have some fun!!
