Take to the Sky, Adventurous Sky, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I made a birthday card for hubby. Yup, his birthday is the day after Christmas and I celebrate it as a separate day, not combining Christmas and birthday gifts. Though I do put the birthday gift under the tree, he can hold it and shake it but he's not allowed to open it till his birthday. Anyway, this is the card I came up with, it's short and sweet and to the point. I'm exhausted from all of the holiday stuff and here I am making his card because I didn't remember to do it ahead of time. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Take to the Sky" 12" x 12" package. Before taping it to the card base I cut a circle using the die from the "Everyday Details" set.

I stamped the clouds, plane and words from the "Adventurous Sky" bundle. I cut them out with the matching dies.  I took my light Blends Balmy Blue pen and drew along the cloud lines.

Using the light and dark Smoky Slate Blends pens I colored in the airplane. My light pen is almost dried up. How does that happen.  I often wonder if I could just add some rubbing alcohol and bring it back to life. I guess I could give it a try, I don't have anything to lose, I need to order a new one so if it doesn't work it gets tossed out and if it does work I will hold off on ordering a new one. Anyway, Dimensionals were added to all of the pieces and they were set in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was such a quick card to make and I'm sure hubby will like it.

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
