Softly Sophisticated, Flight & Airy, Delightful Doily, Anniversary Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have an anniversary card to share with you. Please read on to see how I made it.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Softly Sophisticated" embossing folder. I got it free from the Sale-a-Bration catalog with a qualifying purchase. I did have a little trouble getting it out of the folder. It was stuck in all of those little dots but I did get it out and once I got it started it came out nicely. I thought I was going to rip it and I'm one who likes to be rough with it to see how much stress the paper can take so I know how to handle it in the future. It can take a lot which made me happy. I always glue my embossed pieces in place.

Next I cut a 3" x 4-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock for the top layer. On top of that is a 2-3/4" x 4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Flight & Airy" 12"x 12" package.

I finally used the "Delightful Doily" die set. I forgot I had it. I die cut a Basic White doily and I cut it in half. In the set is an outline of the doily. It is mostly for the embossing folder but I thought it would look good as a layer behind the lacy doily. I cut this piece in half too. I added a bit of glue to the lacy piece and attached it to the Lemon Lolly piece. That piece was then taped to the left edge of the DSP.

The bird is from the same "Flight & Airy" package and was fussy cut. Dimensionals were added to the back of it and it was set in place on the front of the card.

The word piece was punched using the "Double Oval" punch using Basic White and Boho Blue card stock. They were taped together and set in place on the front of the card. I do not know where the words came from. I had stamped them at Terri's Stamp-a-Stack but didn't use them. I added different words to my card and just stuck that in my bag for future use. I set the word piece in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.

I'm not overly fond of the Lemon Lolly part but it is what it is.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's anniversary card,
Wanda

I really love that Flight & Airy dsp and a doily works really well with the designs. I'm going to have to remember that and pull out a doily the next time. Very pretty!
