Under My Umbrella, Friendship Card, 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I'm trying my hardest to work with this new layout for posting a card. UGH. I do NOT like change.  And right now with all that is going on in the world, I don't need anything new to try to deal with. But here I am muddling through this and hopefully it will work. I normally put my photo on here first and then type the words.  I added the photo and then started typing the words but they were blue with a line underneath that looked like it was a hyper link.  So I removed the photo and I'll do my words first and see where the photo lands when I'm done.  I'm crossing my fingers (which makes it kind of hard to type! LOL)

I found this card here on Pinterest but the link didn't take me anywhere, so I had to guess at colors and sizes.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  I ran the front of the card through the Big Shot using the brick wall embossing folder. I'm not sure if that's the name of the folder. I left my catalog upstairs and I'm not going up to get it.  When I go upstairs I'm grabbing my purse had heading to McDonald's to get a coke because I have a shot of (earned) rum waiting for me!!! LOL

I cut a piece of some retired Poppy Parade Designer Series Paper (DSP) that was from the 6" x 6" color collection paper packs.  There's different designs in the new packs for 2020-2021.    I cut this piece 4-1/4" x 1-1/2".  I taped it to the bottom of the front of the card.

Then I die cut the two Basic Black strips using the "Ornate Borders" dies.  I set them aside.  I also punched out the umbrella handle.  I cut a piece of Whisper White card stock that measured 4-1/4" x 1-1/2" and I stamped the flowers from the "Under My Umbrella" set using black Memento ink.  I colored them using both light and dark Poppy Parade, Pool Party, and Bermuda Bay Blends Pens. I used the dark Daffodil Delight Blends pen for the flower centers. I added tape to the back of this piece on the edges and set the black die cut strips in place on the top and bottom. I trimmed the side edges.  I taped this strip in place on the front of the card using snail tape. I placed it on the front of the card 1-3/8" up from the bottom edge of the card.

I stamped the boots, more flowers, one large and one small, and the umbrella.  I colored them in using the same Blends pens.  For the umbrella and the boots I added some black dots using a fine point Sharpie marker.  I did this after the pieces sat for a bit to allow the alcohol to evaporate. If you do it too soon the black dots will bleed.

I die cut the second largest stitched circle and stamped the words from the "Under My Umbrella" set using black Memento ink.  I set the umbrella piece on the circle using Dimensionals.  Then I slipped the handle under the Dimensional before I pressed it in place.  I added the small flower to the top with a dot of white glue and the flower on the circle was set in place with a Dimensional. The entire circle was set in place using Dimensionals.

The boots were added using Dimensionals.

I tied a black bow and set that in place under the boots area using a glue dot.

I had some Pool Party epoxy dots and I stuck them in place on the bottom right side.

This was a fun card to make. A little fussy cutting.  More if you don't have the umbrella punch.  I have played with this set a lot and still find it a fun one to have. It's great for several occasions too!

I added the photo and it landed at the bottom. I tried to get it up at the top right where I usually place my photos but the program just wouldn't let me. I'm hoping it's just a bug in their software.  But I'm sure I will get it all figured out just in time for them to change things again. UGH!!!

Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today,
Wanda
