Positive Thoughts, Friendship Birthday Card, 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I was looking at Pinterest for something other than cards and I ran across this stunning card.  Well, it was stunning until I tried to remake it.  LOL  You can see the original card here.

I didn't have some of the products to reproduce the original card so here is what I had and here is what I did.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Soft Suede. I was going to grab a piece of Crumb Cake card stock but somehow a piece of Soft Suede was in the pack so I decided I would use that instead.  It had a nice rich look to it. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I used the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder to texture the front of the card.

I die cut the third smallest "Rectangle Stitched" Framelit from Whisper White card stock.  I set the piece up in my Stamparatus to make sure I got nice clean images.

I set the fern leaf image from the "Positive Thoughts" set in the Stamparatus and I stamped the image using Crumb Cake ink.  I cleaned the stamp and moved it over to the left and stamped the left leaf.

I stamped the flower from the "Positive Thoughts" set covering it in Mango Melody ink and then tapping the Calypso Coral stamp pad around the edges.  Then I used the matching die cut and cut out the flower.

There was some cute tiny leaf clusters in the dies so I cut two of them out using Granny Apple Green card stock.  I wasn't sure if I was going to use them but I wanted to have them ready so I could see how good or how bad they'd look on the card.

The words are from the same "Positive Thoughts" set. I stamped them using black Memento ink.

I cut a 4-1/2" x 3-1/8" piece of Granny Apple Green card stock for the back layer. I had scrap for those cute tiny leaf clusters but if you don't have any scrap, die cut your leaf clusters from the center of this piece, no one will ever know it's not a solid piece. I taped the Whisper White piece to the Granny Apple Green piece and then I taped those to the front of the card.

I set the flower on top of the card to see where it was going to lay.  I slid the leaf clusters behind it and liked what I saw. Then I added some snail to the stitched piece so the stems of the leaf clusters had somewhere to stick to.

Then I added Dimensionals to the back of the flower piece and I set it in place on top of the leaf clusters. I also added some Wink of Stella to the flower. And I just wasn't done with the Wink of Stella. I just had to add some to the tips of the leaves on the little clusters. I recommend doing this before you tape them down.

I colored three tiny rhinestones using my dark Pumpkin Pie Blends pen. I set them in place on the front of the card to give it a little more color and bling.  I didn't have enough sparkle or shine like the original card had using the foil paper. I didn't have any foil paper so I omitted it and added sparkle and shine where I could.  I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside of the card and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make. I REALLY like this set and I think I may make another card using it this week.

Thank you SO very much for taking the time to stop by,                                                                            Wanda
