Climbing Roses, Thinking of You Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog

Now it's time to dig into those 2019 Occasions catalog sets and have some fun.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  This card opens at the bottom.

The first thing I did was I die cut the lattice piece using Whisper White card stock. I used a double-sided adhesive sheet so it would become a sticker. I wasn't up for gluing this piece in place!!!  I also used my spritzer bottle and sprayed it with "Frost White Shimmer Paint" mixed with some distilled water.  I always use distilled water at my worktable.  Tap water can get a nasty smell after a while of sitting, distilled water does not.  I set that piece aside to dry.  When it was dry I set it in place on the card front.  It was a little difficult to line up but using a ruler helped.

Next I stamped the flowers, the large image and the single flower. I die cut them and colored them using the Real Red light and dark Blends pens.  I also used the Real Red marker on the very center of the flowers and anywhere there were stamped shade lines.  I colored the leaves in using the Old Olive Blends pens.  I set this piece in place on the card using Dimensionals.   I had also colored in the small flower.

The words are from the same "Climbing Roses" set. I stamped them using black Memento ink. Then I took my Blender pen and removed the black on the word "you".  I colored in the "you" using the Real Red marker.  I die cut the piece with the fun die in the matching "Rose Trellis" thinlits die set.  I set that piece in place using Dimensionals.  I was going to add the tiny rose to the upper right on this piece but when I was moving my larger piece around while coloring, I got a little bit of marker on the word piece.  So that little rose is hiding my mistake.  Not that it was difficult to redo the piece, I just didn't want to.  My workroom is cold and I am ready to go upstairs where it's warmer.  We still have a little snow on the ground here.  Mostly the piles at the end of the driveways but it's not comfortable warm here yet.  I don't think my workroom will warm up until July!  This was a nasty cold winter.  Anyway, back to that little flower. I set it in place with a little bit of liquid glue. Anything could be used, tape or a glue dot.  And that was it.

It was an easy card to make and I was really in the mood to do some coloring today. This is a very pretty set.  I think it would be great for a birthday, Mother's Day, get well or wedding card.

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
