Pinewood Planks, November 2018 Paper Pumpkin, Alternative Christmas Card

Today I found another fun and stunning card using the November 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit.  I can not believe all the beautiful alternative cards I've found using this set. And to be honest here, I have not made a single card from the kit they way they were presented in the kit. I've been having too much fun finding all of these fabulous alternative cards. I usually do alternative cards when I'm not fond of the original card. I do like the original card but the ones I've found have been better!!!

I found this one on Pinterest. Click here to see it. It's SO darn adorable.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Cherry Cobbler. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla that was textured using the "Pinewood Planks" embossing folder. I set it in place using snail tape.

Next I took one of the plaid pieces from the Paper Pumpkin kit and cut it at 2-1/4".  It's already cut 4" on the other side.  I cut 3/8" strips of the gold foil card stock and taped the strips to the back of the plaid card stock.  I have very little gold foil card stock left and I feel like I'm actually treating it like gold!!! LOL  After taping the gold strips to the back, I taped that whole piece to the card front, on top of the Very Vanilla piece.

Next I took two of the branches from the kit and set them in place on the plaid piece. I didn't tape them down yet, I needed to work on the placement. I used glue dots to set them in place.

The words are from the Paper Pumpkin kit and I stamped them using the Cherry Cobbler ink that came with the kit.  I set the word piece in place using Dimensionals (that came with the kit).

I tied a bow with the wide thread from the kit and the final touch was some sequins that came with the kit.  The sequins were already attached to glue dots so you just removed it from the plastic backing and stuck them in place.  And there you have it. A fun, quick and adorable card!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
