Daisy Delight, Happy Birthday Thinlits, Birthday Card

This was a fun card to make.  I found this card on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. I did change it up some.  I used the same colors of (Designer Series Paper) DSP and card stock but the words were from different DSP, DSP that I don't own. The flower center is a bit different too but it worked for me!

For this card, the fold is called a "Z Fold". It's where you fold a half-sheet of card stock (Whisper White was used here) and then you fold the front in half towards the fold edge. Now if I were to redo this card I would have just cut off that 2-1/8" piece instead of folding it back.  But the original card had it folded back because the word part was on another "Z Fold" piece.  I didn't want to do that.  It makes it difficult to write on the card.  But having this leafy DSP on the inside only leaves me room to write on the back of the "Happy Birthday"  and I'm okay with that.

So, once I got the base of the card folded, I added a 1-1/8" x 5-1/4" piece of DSP from the "Delightful Daisy" 12" x 12" pack.  The leafy DSP on the inside is from the same pack. It's cut 4" x 5-1/4".

The "Happy Birthday" is die cut using the "Happy Birthday" Thinlit.  I used Tranquil Tide card stock. I also colored over the words with the "Wink of Stella" pen.  Click on the photo to get a closer view. The Whisper White piece the words are on measures 3" x 3-3/8".  The Tranquil Tide layer measures 3-1/4" x 3-5/8".  The top part of the word panel taped to the folded top piece.

I stamped the flower using Tranquil Tide ink. I stamped 2 flowers and taped them together. Before I taped them together I took a sponge dauber and lightly sponged some Basic Black ink around the center area. I used Daffodil Delight and stamped the flower center. I punched it out using the 1/2" circle punch. I taped it in place. I also colored the top of it with Wink of Stella. I added a Dimensional to the flower and set it place, just enough to line it up to the side and to the right enough to miss covering the words.  That was a little tricky but I managed to get it so I was able to accomplish both!!!  And that was it.  I am thinking I may cut a 3" x 3-3/8" piece of Whisper White to the inside.  I was going to keep it for me but since I am not I felt that a piece of Whisper White should go on the inside for writing.

I didn't like how the top kept popping up so I taped that "Z Fold" down and then I really liked the card!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

very cute card. if you keep that extra piece of cs and fold it back and tape down the sides and cut out a half circle in the middle of the open end it can become a gift card holder or cash holder. have a wonderful day. thanks for all of your ideas. I really enjoy them.
