Petal Palette, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Share What You Love, Birthday Card

Here is one of the stamped and die cut images I had in the "Petal Palette" stamp set.  I thought I would play with it today and this is what I came up with. I used the same layout that I did when I made a card in April.  You can see that card here.  

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that I centered and taped a 3-3/4" x 2-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Share What You Love" 12" x 12" package.  

The top layer was cut 4-7/8" x 3-5/8".  I used  the "Stitched Rectangle" die that measured about 3-1/8" x 2-7/8". I centered it on the Whisper White piece and then I ran it through by Big Shot to cut it.

The words are from the "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" set and I stamped them using black Memento ink.

I colored the flower image from the "Petal Palette" set using Poppy Parade and Mint Macaron Blends pens, light and dark.  I set the image on top of the Whisper White die cut piece and I flipped it over. I took a pencil and drew a couple of lines so I knew where NOT to put any tape. I taped the image to the die cut piece.  

Next I added Dimensionals to the back of the die cut piece and I centered it on top of the card base and the card was done. 

I thought this was a super easy and quick card to make. I am going to miss this stamp set when it retires at the end of the month.

Petal Palette, Itty Bitty Greetings, Sympathy Card

I was looking on Google for a fun card to make using the "Petal Palette" set and I found this super quick and easy card.  I inadvertently hit a key on my keyboard and the next thing I know the page was refreshing and I couldn't get back to where I was at.  What I had copied here was the Whisper White piece and the Basic Black card base.  

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock.  On top of that is a 5-1/4" x 3" piece of Whisper White that I had stamped the leaf spring using black Memento ink. The leaf sprig is from the "Petal Palette" set that will soon be retiring.  I really like that set and I will be sad to see it go.  Though I usually say that about sets that I really like and what ends up happening is that something new and better comes along and I like the new one even more and rarely look back at the retired one.  And that's how you end up with a room full (and I mean full) of stamp sets! You could use a full sheet of Whisper White and fill it with the leaf springs and have a "One Sheet Wonder" and you could get 5 cards from that one sheet.  I didn't do that because I only needed one sympathy card.  It does me no good to have cards in a stash, I always feel I need to make a fresh one when I need a card.  

The words are from the "Itty Bitty Greetings" set.  I stamped them using black Memento ink. I used the "Classic Label" punch to punch it out. I set the words in place using Dimenisonals.

For the final touch, I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside of the card and the card was done.  See, I told you it was quick and easy!

I'll have to play with that set again. When I opened up the case there were a lot of die cut pieces in a baggie in there just waiting for me to create something with them.

Lovely as a Tree, Itty Bitty Greetings, Sympathy Card

Since the "Lovely as a Tree" stamp set will be retiring soon, I thought I would make a card using it.  It's been a while since I've played with this set. I looked at the wooden blocks on my set and they have the date 2001 on them.  This set has been around a very long time! So I guess it's okay that it is retiring.  And being that I have not played much with it anymore, it's even more okay!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Balmy Blue card stock.  On top of that is a 4-5/8" x 3-3/8" piece of Basic Black card stock.  The Whisper White focal piece was cut 4-1/2" x 3-1/4".  

I stamped the trees using black Memento ink.  Then I sponged in some Balmy Blue ink and then I added a little bit of Melon Mambo ink. 

The words are from the "Itty Bitt Greeting" and I stamped them using black Memento ink. 

I taped the Whisper White piece to the Basic Black piece and set those layers in place using Dimenisonals.  And that was it.  

This was a pretty quick and easy card to make.

Beautiful Bouquet, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Birthday Card

While looking on Pinterest, I found a card that caught my eye.  I was intrigued by the corrugated piece.  I had not purchased the "Corrugated" embossing folder but I remembered I had a piece of corrugated card stock left over in my April Paper Pumpkin kit and I made it work.  You can see the original card here. I did change it some but the basics of it is there!

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 2-5/8" x almost 4" rectangle stitched die cut.  

I die cut the corrugated circle was cut using the 2-1/8" circle die.  I also cut another circle using Whisper White card stock.  I cut the corrugated circle in half and taped it to the bottom of the Whisper White circle.  

Then I went on a search for a set I had that contained small enough flowers to look good in the space I had to work with.  I used the "Beautiful Boutique" set. I stamped the flowers using Berry Burst ink. I die cut them along with the leaves from the same set which I had stamped using Old Olive ink.

The words are from the "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" set using black Memento ink.  I had set the corrugated circle on the rectangle so I could eye where the words would be stamped.  Once the words were stamped, I was ready to assemble.

I added a ribbon to the stitched rectangle.  I cut a 3-3/4" piece and taped the ends to the back of the rectangle.  I slipped the end of the ribbon (still on the spool) under the taped ribbon and tied a knot and then I cut the ribbon.  Less waste doing it that way.

I added Dimensionals to the stitched rectangle and set it in place on top of the card base.

I added a small Dimensional to each flower and set them in place on the circles.  I glued the leaves in place, tape just wouldn't work, I had trouble slipping them in.  I set the circle in place using Dimenisonals and the card was done!  I like this layout.  This was a fun card to make and I do like how it turned out.

Healing Hugs, Get Well Card

I have a lot of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Petal Promenade" 12" x 12" pack.  It's probably because I had purchased two packs and merged them.  So now I'm on a quest to use it up.  I don't usually use a large piece of DSP but the flowers on here were too pretty to totally cover or to just use a little piece.

Today's card is a very quick and simple card to make.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that I taped a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of the DSP.  

I cut a 1" x 4-1/4" strip of Blushing Bride card stock and tried to center it as much as I could on the card front. 

I stamped the words from the "Healing Hugs" set using Mossy Meadow ink.  I die cut them with an oval die and then I die cut a Mossy Meadow scalloped oval just a little larger than the word oval.  I set the oval in place using Dimensionals.  And that was it. I told you it was quick and simple!!  And I think it's kind of pretty too!

Birthday Card, April 2019 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card

Today's card was fun to make.  I found a card on the internet that used the "Healing Hugs" set.  I couldn't find the actual card.  The link provided only brought me to the site. I did spend a little time searching for the card but I gave up. Here's the link to the site.  The card looks similar.  You might be able to view the original card here. 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Soft Sea Foam card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Soft Sea Foam that was textured using the "Tufted" embossing folder.  

Next I took a piece of Whisper White card stock and stamped the leaves from the April 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit. I used Versa Mark to stamp them and then I embossed them with white embossing powder.  I sponged in Fresh Fig and Mossy Meadow ink.  I wiped off the surface, ink does not dry on top of embossing.  That piece measured 5-1/4" x 2-1/8".  I taped that piece to the textured Soft Sea Foam piece.  

I taped a strip of the "Polka Dot" Tulle ribbon over the seam.  Then I took another piece of the ribbon and tied a bow right to the strip I taped down.  I like to do my bows that way because I can slide it and position it much easier.

I stamped the flower using Fresh Fig ink and I stamped three leaves using Mossy Meadow ink. I fussy cut them all.  I also colored both of them with Wink of Stella.  The Wink of Stella picks up the color of the ink and spreads it around as you color over the surface.  I like that effect.  The flower and leaves needed something more than just the ink outlines.  

I stamped the words using Mossy Meadow ink. I die cut them with an oval die and I also die cut a Mossy Meadow scalloped oval.  I taped those two pieces together.  

I set the flower in place using Dimensionals.  I set the leaves in place using Dimensionals.  And the words were also set in place using Dimensionals.  And then I set the whole panel in place using Dimensionals.  Lots of Dimensionals here!!!

I really like how this card turned out and I will be giving it to my mom on her birthday.

Waterfront, Woodland, Southern Serenade, Masculine Birthday Card

Today's card was easy and fun to make.  My plan for today was to make a masculine birthday card and it worked out. 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Tranquil Tide card stock.  And on top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White that was embossed using the "Woodland" embossing folder.  This is such a cool folder. I LOVE those trees.

Next I took a piece of Whisper White card stock that was cut 3-5/8" x 2-3/4".  I stamped the mountain image from the "Waterfront" set.  I used Soft Suede ink and I did stamp off once before stamping on my card stock.  The grassy area below the mountain was done by stamping off once using Tranquil Tide ink.  Looking at the image on my computer, I'm thinking that I should have used Soft Suede there too.  To the right I stamped the "land" using Tranquil Tide ink.  I also stamped the trees using Tranquil Tide. I used my Stamparatus and stamped the tree a couple of times to get it darker.  And the water was stamped using Pool Party ink and stamping off once.  I added dots to the piece using Pool Party ink and stamping off once each time. I taped the image layer to the Tranquil Tide layer.  If you want you can die cut the scalloped circle from the center of the Tranquil Tide piece no one will know. I often forget to do that (like today) but I had some small scrap so I used that. 

The words are from the "Southern Serenade" set and I used Soft Suede ink to stamp them.  I die cut the circle and taped it to the Tranquil Tide scalloped circle. 

I set the focal image in place using Dimensionals and I added a couple of Dimensionals to the bottom of the circle and a little bit of snail on the right side of the circle and I set that in place on the bottom left side of the card.  And that was it.  

I thought it was a fun card to make. I really like the "Waterfront" set and I've had a lot of fun with it.

Southern Serenade, Itty Bitty Greetings, Mother's Day Card

Today I thought I would make another Mother's Day card.  I really like the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Share What You Love" 12" x 12" package.  There's SO many pretty images in that pack.  

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Mossy Meadow card stock.  This card opens on the right side.  On top of that is the DSP that was cut 4" x 5-1/4".

I took a piece from the corrugated piece of card stock that was in the April 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit.  You could use a piece of embossed card stock here if you want something with texture.  My piece was cut 4" x 1-5/8".  I taped that strip on top of the DSP.

I stamped the flower from the "Southern Serenade" set using black Memento ink.  I colored it in using the Calypso Coral and Old Olive, light and dark Blends.  And the centers of the flowers were colored in using the dark Daffodil Delight Blends.  After coloring I die cut the image using an oval die. I also die cut a scalloped oval using Mossy Meadow card stock. I taped the two ovals together and set them in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals. 

The words are from the "Itty Bitty Greetings" set.  I stamped them using black Memento ink.  I punched them out using the "Classic Label" punch.  I set the words in place using Dimensionals.  And that was it.  This was a quick and easy card to make.  Coloring with Blends is a whole lot easier than using markers or a blender pen.

Mother's Day Card, April 2019 Paper Pumpkin Kit Alternative Card

I thought I would post one more Paper Pumpkin card before I moved on to other stamp sets.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that I had cut a printed piece from the Paper Pumpkin kit that measures 3-3/8" x 4-5/8".  I cut a piece of Crushed Curry at 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" for the layer behind the printed piece.  I centered and taped it to the card base.

Next I took the strip that was left from making yesterday's card and I cut it in half at 7/8" x 5".  I taped the strips to the top of the printed piece.

Then I stamped the flower the same way as I did yesterday, using the printed card stock from the kit and masking the flower so I could stamp the leaves.  The flower was stamped using Flirty Flamingo and the leaves were stamped using Mint Macaron.  This piece measures 3" x 2-5/8"  I cut a piece of Crushed Curry at 3-1/8" x 2-3/4" and taped it to the stamped flower piece.  I set that piece in place using Dimensionals.  

The words are from the set and I stamped them using Gray Granite ink.  It's the color that came in the Paper Pumpkin kit.  I punched them out using the 1-3/8" circle punch and the 1-3/4" circle punch was used to punch a Crushed Curry circle for the layer.  I taped those two layers together and set them on the card using a Dimensional at the bottom and snail tape at the top.  The kit comes with some fun colored enamel dots. I wanted to add one under the word "day" but I couldn't fine them in my mess. I will be adding that when they are found. I planned on using the Flirty Flamingo colored dot, the largest one.  Let's home I find them!!!

2019 Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin, Thank You Card

Today I thought I should take out my April Paper Pumpkin kit.  The kit contained note card size cards which I am not a big fan of.

The base of the card is a folded half sheet of Whisper White card stock.  This card opens on the right.

The yellow strip on the side was a part of one of the note cards in the kit.  I cut it in half and layered it with a piece of Crushed Curry that was cut 1/8" larger around than the strip.  I taped it in place on the front of the card.  

I took one of the printed piece that had green and yellow colors on it.  I stamped the flower using Flirty Flamingo ink.  I also made a mask of the flower so I could stamp the leaves and make them look like they were behind the flower.  I stamped the leaves using Mint Macaron ink. That piece measured 3-1/8" x 3".  I cut the Crushed Curry at 3-1/4" x 3-1/8". I taped those two layers together. 

The words are from the kit and so is the die that the words were stamped on.  I stamped the words using Gray Granite ink.  

To assemble the card, I taped the long strip to the left side of the front of the card.  Then I took the Baker's twine that came in the kit and wrapped it around my fingers to make the loops.  I set the loops in place using glue dots.  

Next I set the flower layer in place using Dimensionals.  The words were also set in place using Dimensionals.

The kit also has those cute little enamel dots in it.  I set three of the smallest green ones along the bottom of the card and it was done!

This was a fun card to make and I have lots more pieces to this kit to play with.

Waterfront, Itty Bitty Greetings, Masculine Birthday or Father's Day Card

It was nice to have a couple of days off from card making.  Not that it's a tough "job" but I usually make a card every day and with holiday weekends and extra stuff to do, finding time to make a card can sometimes be stressful. I don't like my card making to ever be stressful, it would take the fun out of it.  

I found this card on the internet.  I was looking to make a Father's Day card and this one was perfect.  It can also be used as a dad birthday card too!  You can see the original card here.  

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Tranquil Tide card stock.  The layers on top are as follows.  I cut a piece of Very Vanilla 4" x 5-1/4" and the top layer was cut 3-7/8" x 5-1/8".  I stamped the top layer crackled layer using the retired "Weathered" background stamp. I had not gotten around to selling it yet (along with other background stamps!) and now I'm glad I still have it.  It is different than the current one but you get the idea.  I sponged the edges using Crumb Cake ink.

I stamped the image on a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  First I stamped the mountains using Crumb Cake ink and the lighter mountain was stamped after the first one was stamped but the image was not inked up again. I just used what was left on the stamp.

Next I stamped the grassy area using Pear Pizzazz ink.

Then the Pool Party water area as stamped.

The trees were stamped using Tranquil Tide ink.  

The sun was stamped using Daffodil Delight ink.

The dots in the sky were stamped using Crumb Cake ink that has been stamped off.  I'm thinking they should have been stamped off twice.

I taped the two Very Vanilla layers together and tied some linen thread around them.  I added Dimensionals to the back and set them in place on the card base.

I die cut the stamped image using the largest oval stamp in the set and then I sponged the edges using Crumb Cake ink.  I added Dimenisonals to the back and set it in place on top of the crackled area.  

The words are from the "Itty Bitty Greetings" set. I stamped them using Crumb Cake ink and punched them using the Classic Label punch. I added a small Dimensional to the left side and snail tape to the rest of the piece and I set it in place on part of the oval.  And that was it.  

I thought it was a fun and easy card to make.  This one would be a super easy one to duplicate using the Stamparatus.  I'm not sure if this set is retiring or not. I didn't look at the list. But for now it's a current set.

Easter

Share What You Love, Healing Hugs, Get Well Card

I'm a bit disappointed in my card today.  My plan was to make a quick and easy get well card.  I did succeed in making it quick and easy but I had an issue with my ink pad. I used a small ink spot to ink up the words. I had them set up in the Stamparatus so I would be sure to get them straight.  The ink pad must have had a fabric issue and a piece of it got on the letter and got impressed onto the card stock. I had to wait until the ink to dry to remove the fuzz.  And now the "p" has a blotch on the bottom part.  GRRR.  I could have redone the card but I didn't have time.  I don't often check my images before I put them to paper after inking them. I guess it's a lesson learned. The words are from the "Healing Hugs" set.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4-7/8" x 3-3/8" piece of Berry Burst card stock.  And on top of that is a piece of Designer Series Paper from the "Share What You Love" 12" x 12" pack.  It was trimmed to 4-3/4" x 3-1/4".  After stamping the words I taped the DSP to the Berry Burst piece.  I set the layers on top of the card front using Dimensionals.

I told you it was a quick and simple card but I'm not happy with the ink blotch.

Petals & More, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Birthday Card

Today I thought I would try something different in card making.  Well, new to me. I don't know why!  LOL

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  I had cut my card stock in half on the 8-1/2" side.  My card was to be folded at the top and open from the bottom.  By the time I had gotten all of my cut pieces to my worktable, I had a regular folded card.  I don't even know where that came from. The other piece will be saved for another card I want to open from the bottom or I'll just cut it  and use it.

The top layer was cut 4-7/8" x 3-5/8".  I used the "Stitched Rectangle" die that measured about 3-1/8" x 2-7/8".  I centered it and ran it through my Big Shot and cut it out.  I save those inside pieces for another project (someday!!).  

I cut a 3-3/4" x 2-1/2" piece of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Share What You Love" 12" x 12" paper pack.  

And I die cut a Mossy Meadow branch from the "Petals & More" set that was bundled with the "Petal Palatte" set.  Which is retiring at the end of May.  I LOVE this set and I'm going to miss it. I will have to find a fun card using the bird and make it before it retires.  

I stamped the words from the "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" set, which is also retiring at the end of May.  I used black Memento ink to stamp them. I also used the Stamparatus to line it up so I could get it straight.  Buying some graph paper and cutting it to fit helps. I found some cheap thin graph paper at the Dollar Tree.  I didn't need anything nice. I just wanted to have some on hand so I can get my wording straight at a low cost.  Having to move the words and re-stamp, sometimes several times causes me to use a bit of graph paper.  Though I did learn to cut it into smaller pieces and only set it on the area that I am going to be stamping.  Okay. Once the words were stamped I was ready to assemble my card.

I used Dimensionals and set the DSP in place.  I added more Dimensionals to the edges of my piece, making sure not to add any to the back of the DSP, it would raise the card up too high.  I set that panel in place using the Dimensionals on the edge plus some snail in the middle (on the backside of the DSP.

I trimmed the end of the branch a bit and added a little bit of glue to some of the leaves and set it in place. I did set it in place before adding the glue so I would know where to place it.  After making sure the leaves stuck in place I was done!

I thought it was a quick and easy card to make.  I like this layout and I'm going to see if I can't come up with something better than the branch for the accent.
