Christmas Magic, Snowman Christmas Card

Oh my gosh!  This card was like a train wreck happening before my very eyes!!!

I didn't have a clue as to where I was going with this card.  All I knew was that I wanted to use that cute snowman from the "Christmas Magic" set.  A set I bought because of the snowman.  A set I didn't need.  And a set I won't have much time to play with at all.  Note to self:  "No more than 3 Christmas sets next year!!!"  I always say I'm not going to buy a bunch of sets and then I do it anyway. Hopefully next year the Holiday Catalog won't be so painful!!! LOL

Anyway.  I had bought the pack of "Seasonal Decorative Masks".  I'm finding it a mistake too.  But I thought I should try to play with it.  I used the circles, a piece of Emerald Envy card stock and Emerald Envy ink. I sponged the ink on the mask and got this dotted background.  I thought it would be quicker than using the "Falling Snow" texture folder.  It's not. Plus now I have to clean the mask!  

Okay, moving on.  I stamped, colored and cut out the snowman. I layered him in Emerald Envy and Real Red card stock.  

I used some fun decorative paper as a side layer for some contrast.  I used the "Merry Wishes" from the "Christmas Magic" set.  

They all can't be winners!!!  Tomorrow I will have something more fun for you!!!

Merry Tags Framelits Die, Christmas Card

Isn't this just an absolutely stunning card?  This is one that we made at Terri's FABULOUS Holiday Stamp A Stack.  All of the cards were wonderful, but this was my favorite.

I LOVE this "Merry Tags" Framelits set.

The "Pine Bough" texture folder was used on the background.  Then the ornament was cut using the "Gold Foil" Sheets.  Behind it is a circle of the "Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer" paper.  We set that in place using Dimensionals.  I REALLY hope these Framelits make it in the 2017 catalog, I would love to use this image on my Christmas cards next year.  I would have them done by now!!!  I'm still working on ours.  I may not get them out until New Years eve at the rate I'm going.

There isn't a lot to this card but there doesn't need to be.  It's SO pretty and elegant looking.  Like I said before, it was my favorite!!

Star of Light, Christmas Card, Stamp a Stack

Today I am going to share with you another card I had made at Terri's FABULOUS Holiday Stamp a Stack.  She had such wonderful cards to make.  I had a great time playing with stamp sets I wanted but just couldn't buy because I bought too many as it was!!!  I did play with this set once before. My friend Katie bought it and I played with it for a couple of hours.  It was fun but I just couldn't buy it.  

For this card we used Marina Mist for the background and for the larger star.  The center star was cut using silver foil paper. We used marina mist ink on the front of the card.  We added a little of the Silver Metallic Thread, that was fun to play with. And in the center of the star we added a little rhinestone.  It's SO much prettier in person!!

Cookie Cutter Christmas, Reindeer Card, Corner Flip Technique

I found this fun card on Pinterest.  I pretty much copied it exactly like I saw it, except the strip piece of decorative paper on the bottom is a bit smaller.  That was all I had left, just tiny scraps, but I made it work!  You can see the original card here.   

The "Corner Flip" technique was used here.  This is a very fun and easy technique to do.  You can find the instructions for that technique here.  

The base of my card is Real Red.  The "Candy Cane Lane" Decorative Series Paper (DSP) was used for the background. Oh, I did change the background image.  I didn't have enough of the one that was used on the original card.  

The strips of DSP on the bottom are also from the "Candy Cane Lane" paper pack.  As well as the mitten. I fussy cut it out of a piece of that DSP pack.  

The words are from the "Cookie Cutter Christmas set.  The reindeer is also from that set.  I cut him out of Crumb Cake and colored him using Chocolate Chip ink and a blender pen.  I did add a rhinestone to the red bow and to the center of the mitten.  I thought the card could use a little bling!

Cookie Cutter Christmas, Santa Card

Today I found a fun card on Pinterest.  I had to copy it!! You can see the original card here.  I'm not feeling very creative lately.  I spend too much time on Pinterest and finding things that I like so I just copy them. But then again, there are times where I create from the card I see or change it so much it becomes an original.  Plus, I like it so it must mean that had someone else not created it, I may have!!! Are you buying that?  LOL

Anyway, I thought this card was adorable, so I tried to recreate it.  I did change the wording. I did have those words in the original card but I wanted to use the "Merry Wishes" from the "Oh, What Fun" set.  

I used some fun textured white card stock behind Santa. I colored him in using markers.  I didn't have any red baker's twine so I used red DMC floss.

The base of the card is Crumb Cake.  The strip to the left is from the "Candy Cane Lane" Designer Paper Series pack.

I set the Santa in place using Dimensionals and the panel he is on was set in place with Dimensionals as well.

I LOVE the pom pom on the top of his hat!!!

Cookie Cutter Christmas, Reindeer Christmas Card

I got my inspiration for this card from one I saw on Pinterest. You can see that card here.  I did change it a little.  I added the Cucumber Crush layer behind the Whisper White.  I added a Cucumber Crush bow instead of a red one.  I changed the wording (mostly because I didn't have the ones used in the original card and I also changed the color of the words from Real Red to Cucumber Crush.  I also tilted the head of the reindeer.

I used Real Red for the base of my card.  Then I added a layer of "Candy Cane Lane" Decorative Series Paper.  I used the Dies that match the "Swirly Bird" set and made the Real Red squiggly circle.  

The reindeer is from the "Cookie Cutter Christmas" set and I stamped him using Crumb Cake card stock.  I colored him in with Chocolate Chip ink and a blender pen.  I used the Real Red marker for the nose.

I thought it was a cute card.  I needed to try something different from the set.  I keep using the Gingerbread Boy image.  I just LOVE that one the most!!!

Cookie Cutter Halloween, Thanksgiving Card

This is the last time I will be using the "Cookie Cutter Halloween" set.  I LOVED this set.  It had such fun Halloween images plus this adorable scarecrow for all of fall!!  Including Thanksgiving.  I didn't have any actual Thanksgiving stamp sets so I thought I could work this scarecrow in and use up a little more of the "Halloween Nights" Decorative Series Paper.  I was pretty good about using it this season!!!  No more hoarding. If I run out, I run out.  If I run out early and still like it, I'll order more!!!

I colored the scarecrow in using Markers. I did use a marker and a blender pen on the face.  I didn't have any black Baker's Twine, so I used some black DMC embroidery floss.

The words are from my computer.  I printed them out and I used the RGB code for the Tangerine Tango color.  It looks pretty close.  Though looking at the photo now, I wished I would have printed them out in Black instead.   I set the ovals in place with Dimensionals and I set the scarecrow in place with Dimensionals.

This was a fun card to make and I'm going to miss this little guy!!

Perfect Pines, Christmas Card, Stamp a Stack

Today I am sharing with you one of the sets of cards I made at Terri's FABULOUS Stamp-a-Stack.  She is such a creative person. 

These were very fun to make.  I LOVE it when the Decorative Series Paper (DSP) is uses for most of the background.  It allows the image to be more focused upon.

Here we used the tree from the "Peaceful Pines" stamp set.  We stamped it using Garden Green ink.  A star was put at the top and then the image was layered. 

The DSP is from the "This Christmas" pack.  It's such a fun pack.  I didn't purchase any of that, I had gotten the "Candy Cane Lane" DSP and just couldn't buy any more!!!  

It was super easy and super fun.

Hampton Art Snowman Card

A couple of weeks ago I was shopping at Michael's.  I just needed a berry spray for a Christmas project.  But I ended up wandering around the store and found some fun stamp sets.  I don't usually buy anything but Stampin' Up! sets, but I am a sucker for snowmen and when I saw this little guy, I knew I had to have it.  Actually I saw it the day before Halloween but I didn't buy it.  I talked myself out of it.  But when I went back a week later, I did look for it. It had been moved but I did find it.  There was a sale going on too, buy one get one at half off.  Which really amounts to 25% off their stamp sets.  I suppose that doesn't sound as impressive as buy one get one half off.  But for those of us who know our math, it's really 25% off!!! LOL

This set is by Hampton Art.  It doesn't have a name.  It's an 8 piece snowman set.  It has 3 dies, the snowman one and two snowflake ones.  There's two snowmen in it, the one shown here and one almost like it holding a gift and he's smiling with his eyes closed.  He's cute too!  And the words "Warm wishes for a merry Christmas".  Plus there's two little snowflake images.  I used them on the background behind the snowman.  I stamped them very lightly.  You may need to click on the photo to see them.  

What is fun about this set is, it comes with a die to cut out the snowmen!!!  The very thing that Stampin' Up! has spoiled me with!!!

Cookie Cutter Christmas, Reindeer Christmas Card

This "Cookie Cutter Christmas" set has some fun images in it.  This is the first time I've used the reindeer image.  I have not used the Eskimo one yet.  I have used the gingerbread boy and Santa. I think I only used the Santa once.  I will have to play with him a bit more.  I'm hoping this set carries over to the next catalog and they bring in a bunny and other characters.  Maybe some girls and boys and a punch for their hair!!! Wouldn't that be fun?  I hope it doesn't retire.  But if it does, I will be hanging onto mine for a while longer.

Okay, lets talk about my card.  After all, this blog is all about me!!! LOL  This was a fun card to make. It's also a very easy one.  I found it on Pinterest.  I didn't change a think, I had everything to make it as is andI was glad, because I really liked it the way it was!!! You can see the original card here.  I used the knit folder to make the background.  I spritzed the card stock and ran it through the Big Shot.  While it was drying, I worked on the other parts of the card.

I stamped the reindeer using Crumb Cake card stock. I colored it in using a blender pen and Crumb Cake ink.  I used Chocolate Chip ink on the antlers and a little on the highlights of the face.  I used Pirouette Pink on the inside of the ears and Real Red on the nose.  

I used the circle dies to cut out the 3 layers of circles the reindeer is set on.  The reindeer was set in place using Dimensionals.  

The words are from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set. I stamped them in Real Red and punched it out.  I set them in place using Dimensionals as well.

This reindeer is SO darn cute.  I bought some malted milk balls yesterday.  I plan on making some reindeer noses candy packs.  And of course, I will share it with you when I'm done!!!

Cookie Cutter Christmas, Hang Your Stocking, Gingerbread Boy Card

I had taken a photo of a card using the "Cookie Cutter Christmas" set.  My card didn't turn out like the original. Which is okay and also makes this card an original!!!

I used Early Espresso for the base of the card, mostly because that is what is used on the tiny images in the "Candy Cane Lane" Decorative Series Paper (DSP).  

I used the "Falling Snow" embossing folder on the Whisper White layer.  Then the layer behind the DSP is from the "Candy Cane Lane" pack. 

The gingerbread boy was stamped using Early Espresso ink.  It's a VERY dark brown but it looks black in the photo.  There is no Basic Black used on this card.  I set the words and the gingerbread boy in place using Dimensionals.  

It was a fun and easy card to make.  I wished I would have seen this one before I figured out our Christmas card.  It has a lot of pieces to it and it is taking a lot of time to make.  UGH!  Why do I always do that?  To make the first one was no big deal.  But when you have to make a bunch of them, well, it not only takes a lot of time but it also gets a little boring!!!

Hang Your Stocking, Christmas Card, Candy Cane Lane Decorative Paper

I took a picture of this card at Terri's "Holiday Extravaganza in September.  It was on Shelley's display boards.  I did change the card a little, only because I didn't have the wording she used.

Her card read "wishing you a sweet season".  It was stamped in black and stamped before it was textured.  She had the star to the left of the wording.  Mine is kind of the opposite.  I am saying kind of because my wording is on a separate piece of card stock and it's layered. Hers was directly on the background piece.  

I tried to out the star to the left, near the left edge but when I set the wording on the card, it looked out of place.  It wasn't making my eyes move around the card. It kind of got stuck in the top center of the card.  So I moved the words to the left and then set part of the star on top of it and I liked that SO much better.  So, like I said, it's kind of like Shelley's card, but not!

It was a fun card to make.  I'm glad I wasn't making a lot of them because the little images were from the "Candy Cane Lane" Decorative Series Paper and were cut by hand.  I'm not so fond of fussy cutting anymore!!  

I didn't have enough Real Red Baker's Twine so I went in my sewing stuff and found some DMC floss in red and used it.  It doesn't match the Real Red twine but it worked just the same.  Sometimes you gotta do what ya gotta do!!

I think it's an adorable card!!

Tin of Tags, Christmas Cards, Stamp A Stack

Last week I was at Terri's Holiday Stamp a Stack. These are one of 5 sets of cards we made. For this set we used the "Tin of Tags" set for the wording.  The decorative paper is from the "Presents & Pinecones" pack.  

We stamped the words on the tag we punched out.  Then we added a piece of Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine.

These were very quick and simple to make.

Layering Love, Flourishing Phrases, Elegant Butterfly, Wedding or Anniversary Card, Background Technique

Today's card is one I did last month at Terri's Stamp a Stack.  It was fun to play with the stamping blocks.  I have not done this technique before.  I found it fun, interesting, creative and even a bit messy!!!  

We took the largest clear block and inked it up with Smoky Slate.  Then we set our card stock (Smoky Slate) on top, covered it with a scrap piece of paper and rubbed across it to get the ink to transfer to the card stock.  That was pretty much it. Each one looked different and I thought it gave the card stock the look of suede.  

We used the "Fancy Frost" Specialty Paper for the white strip.  The butterflies were punched using the "Elegant Butterfly" punch and we used the Gold, Silver, and Copper colored Foil Sheets.  We added pearls down the center of each butterfly. They were set in place using Dimensionals.  It's a pretty simple card and yet elegant.
