Daisy Delight, Delightful Daisy, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Birthday Card, Recessed Panel Technique

Yesterday I mentioned that I was going to try another "Recessed Panel" technique card and see if I could just use a strip of Decorative Series Paper (DSP) instead if using the whole 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece.  No, I was not able to do it. Though I think if you cut the 12" x 12" DSP into diagonal strips it might work.  I didn't cut mine because I don't plan on making another one of these for a while. I do like making them and I find them very easy to make but I need to move on!

This card was easier than the one I made yesterday. There is no fussy cutting here at all.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is the 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Delightful Daisy DSP.

For the front pieces I took a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Daffodil Delight and Whisper White card stock and cut them both at the same time.  For the top piece, I marked it on the left at 3/4" and on the right side I marked it at 3". For the bottom part, I marked it at 1-1/8".  I cut the two colors at the same time.  The 1-1/8" side was cut all the way to the bottom right corner tip.  Next I took the Whisper White pieces and I cut 1/8" off the inside edge.  I taped the two pieces together.  I stamped the words using the "Happy Birthday, Gorgeous" set and Night of Navy ink.  I set those two panels in place using Dimensionals.

I punched out two daisy pieces and taped the centers together.  I stamped and punched one "Daisy Delight" flower using Old Olive card stock and ink.  I cut a few petals to use as leaves.

The center of the flower was stamped using Chocolate Chip ink.  I punched it out with the 3/4" circle punch and set it in place using a Dimensional.  I set the flower in place using Dimensionals on the outer petals.  I attached the leaf petals afterwards using snail tape.  I added a little Wink of Stella to the tips of the flowers and leaves, and to the center part as well.

And that was it!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
