Mixed Bunch, Flower Shop, and Petite Petals all Rolled into One!

I found a fun card here at Sandy Stamper's blog.  I thought it was such a pretty card.  Though I didn't want to use the new tag punch for the closure on the card.  But in looking at the card here I wished I would have used the "Dotted" embossing folder instead of the tulip border one.  That right side looks a little plain.  Maybe if I make another one I will change it.

This card used 4 sets to complete it.  Mixed Bunch was used for the larger flower, Flower Shop for the second flower and Petite Petals for the center flower.  And the fourth set was Wetlands for the words.  

A pearl was added in the middle of the Petite Petals flower.  

For the background flower I punched two from the Mixed Bunch matching punch. I cut one of the pieces in half and matched it up as best I could and then I took the full piece and added it to the back of the flower.  The top two flowers were set in place using Dimensionals.  

The decorative paper is from the Sweet Sorbet pack.  I didn't use those papers as much as I thought I was going to.  Fortunately I only got one pack of it.  

I liked the idea of stamping the words directly on the decorative paper. It isn't very often you can find decorative paper that you can stamp on.

Too Kind

Today I made a card that can be used for many different occasions.  I did not add any sentiments to it.  I figured what I write on the inside will determine the occasion or event.

I was a bit surprised at the color of my Elegant Eggplant ink.  It reminds me more of the Perfect Plum color than the eggplant.  The color looked fine to me until I matched it up with the Elegant Eggplant decorative paper and card stock. 

At first I thought it was the bright lighting in my workroom that made me see the colors the way I was seeing it but it looks the same in the photo as it does in real life (so it isn't me!!!).  

This was a fun card to make though.  And easy too!  I like the "Too Kind" set because it's a two-step set.  You stamp off once for the lighter color and right from the ink pad for the darker color.  As simple as that.  And I believe that technique is called "Stamping off".

I used my oval dies to cut the Whisper White and the Elegant Eggplant card stock.  The oval was set in place using Dimensionals.  And that is it!  This would make a great Stamp-a-Stack card!

Flower Shop and Petite Petals

I found a fun card made by Patsy at "Stamps to Die For".  I pretty much copied it as she did it except for the rounded edges on the Crisp Cantaloupe and "thank you" panels.  

One other change was below the words.  I didn't have the ribbon so I improvised with the reverse side of the "Watercolor Wonder" decorative paper!  It all worked out.  I like how it turned out.

A Happy Watercolor Birthday Card

Today's inspiration came from a card that was pinned from Constant Contact.  The link had expired so I can not show you the original card.  It was cute too.  There was green dotted paper on the left side where I used the Watercolor Wonder paper.  

The center flower was from the "Bright Blossoms set.  And I don't remember what words were used.  But it was a cute card and I just had to make one.  I simply loved the layout.

My flower came from the "Happy Watercolor" set.  I colored in the flower using a blender pen and the Daffodil Delight ink pad.  I added a bit of Crisp Cantaloupe to the center for some extra color and to help the image blend better with the decorative paper.  

The words are from the "Wetlands" set and they were stamped using black StazOn.  The final touch was the strip of ribbon just after the decorative paper.

And that was it.  Super simple to make!

Easter Blessings

I thought I would play with the "Easter Blessings" stamp today.  This is one of those stamps that won't get much use after Easter.  Though if you mask over the words you can get some use out of the flower for other occasions.

I stamped my flower using black StazOn.  I colored in the flowers using a blender pen and "Daffodil Delight" ink pad.  The leaves were colored in using a blender pen and the Pear Pizzazz ink pad.  And that was it for the coloring.  SO simple and quick.

I layered the flowers using Daffodil Delight card stock.  And the two panels were from the Watercolor Wonder pack and layered in the Daffodil Delight card stock as well.  

The three panels were set in place on the card and that was it.  Another quick and simple card!!!

Faux Paper Pumpkin Gorgeous Grunge

While surfing the net and ending up at Pinterest, I found this fun card.  Upon reading about how it was made I discovered it was a "Paper Pumpkin" kit card.  UGH!  I did not join the monthly Paper Pumpkin "club".  I have liked  a lot of the kits but have never purchased any.  But this one card in particular I just loved and wanted to make in the worst way.  After finding out it was a Paper Pumpkin card I almost gave up on it.  But there was something about this card that had me obsessed!!! LOL  I just HAD to make it.  You can see the original card here at Heather's blog.  

I proceeded to get out the supplies I thought I needed to make this card.  

The first thing I did was stamp the background using "Gorgeous Grunge" and the Bermuda Bay ink pad.  I always love it when I can use the "Gorgeous Grunge" set!!!

Since the circle was a dotted stamped one I knew I would have to improvise something there.  I used dotted decorative paper instead.  I punched it out and a piece of white for a layer behind it.  

I used the Washi tape from Christmas and taped it across a piece of white card stock and trimmed it up. I tore one end and left the other straight.  The words are from the "Simply Sketched" set and were trimmed up after stamping.  I cut the sides using a scissors.  I taped a piece of the elastic ribbon to the back and before setting it in place I tied a double bow using linen thread.  

This was a fun card to make.  It's not exactly like the Paper Pumpkin one but I like it anyway!

Flower Shop One Page Wonder Technique

One of the first techniques I learned was the "One Page Wonder".  It's an extremely easy technique that produces a lot of card pieces, depending on how big the piece is you start with.  I usually take a full sheet of card stock when I do mine.  Then you just stamp randomly all over the card stock using the same or different images and the same or complimenting colors.  

Once your sheet is full you cut off what you need to make cards. With a full sheet of card stock you can make a lot of cards.  

Here I used a 1-7/8" x 4" piece.  I layered it with Strawberry Slush.  The base of my card is also Strawberry Slush.  The top panel is Whisper White.  

I used the scoring board to make lines on the front.  Those were added after the center panel was set in place.  

The words are from the "Perfectly Penned" set.  Oh and if you hadn't noticed by the title, the flowers are from the "Flower Shop" set.

It's a very simple card to make and I got the idea for it from here.  I'm not sure if that was made using the "One Sheet Wonder" technique though.

A Petite Pairs on Hardwood Background Masculine Birthday

I have not had a chance to play with my "Hardwood" stamp.  I did use one at a Stamp-a-Stack and it was there that I probably felt I needed to own the image.  I did have trouble getting a good image off it.  I think I need to use soap on the stamp, it seems to have an oily base to it because my ink kept beading up on it.  I was not going to redo the image so I ran with the one I got.  Actually it was the second one I got.  The first one is on the backside of this one! I cut that piece to 4" x 5-1/4".

I found a piece of decorative paper that was already "ribbon" cut and sponged.  What a find, huh?  LOL  And I added an embossed Marina Mist circle to the top of it.  

I took out my "Petite Pair" set and stamped the words.  I punched them out with the 1-1/4" circle punch and then used the 1-3/8" circle punch for a border.  I set that piece in place using Dimensionals.  I added 3 Marina Mist "Candy Dots" to the circle.  I wrapped some linen thread around the panel and taped the ends on the backside.  Then I took a piece of Marina Mist decorative paper that was folded in half and punched it using the little banner punch. I made sure the fold butted up against the flat end of the punch so I could have a long piece of punched paper.  Though I did keep it folded in half.  I added glue to the inside and "hung" it over the thread and held it in place for a few seconds so the glue would set up enough to let go of it.  I added an Early Espresso "Candy Dot" to the center of that piece. 

I layered the decorated panel on a half sheet of Crumb Cake card stock and that was it.  A very quick and simple masculine card to make.

Blessed Easter and Watercolor Wonder

I must say that this "Blessed Easter" stamp is very easy to work with.  Deciding what colors I wanted to make the tulips was the hard part.  I LOVE red tulips but today I wanted to try something different.  So I started with my background paper and I let that decide the color of the flowers.  I used the blue and green flowers from the "Watercolor Wonder" decorative paper pack.  Once I got that paper cut I set it in place on top of a folded half-sheet of Island Indigo card stock.  I used the Island Indigo ink pad and a blender pen to color in the tulips.  Yes, blue tulips.  Aren't the pretty?  And I used Bubble Gum green to color in the  leaves.  And that was it.  I layer of Island Indigo under the tulip panel and I was done.  And extremely quick card to make!!!  Are you impressed?  I was!!

A Gorgeous Grunge Petite Petals Birthday

I just LOVE it when I find a fun card using the "Gorgeous Grunge" set.  I can't seem to get enough of that set!  I found a fun card on Pinterest (where else?  LOL) and I thought I would play with it. I did change it a bit.  Click here to see the original card made by Heather Owens.  I like the original card but I didn't have the words used on it.  Plus I stamped my horizontal lines too low to the edge of the card so there was no room for words.  But adding them to the top corner worked out just fine too.  I like both versions of this card.  

The colors I used here are Crushed Curry ink and card stock.  Coastal Cabana ink and card stock.  Whisper White card stock.  Crisp Cantaloupe and Smoky Slate ink.  The center of each flower has a tiny rhinestone.  And the words are done using my computer.  

This was a very fun card to make too.  I can see myself making more cards like this.  It went together fast and it's so bright and cherry.

A Blooming with Kindness Birthday

Today was a "Let's make a quick card" day!  I got out my "Blooming with Kindness" set, my VersaMark pad, my white embossing powder, a sponge, Crisp Cantaloupe ink pad and card stock, plus a word set.  My words came from the "Wetlands" set. 

I embossed the flower using the VersaMark and white embossing powder.  Then I sponged Crisp Cantaloupe over the embossed area and going a little beyond the embossed edges.  And that is it!  Add your words and it's all done.  Layer it on the color card stock that matches the ink you used.  Seriously, you can't get much simpler than that!  This would be a fun card to make a matching set of.

Bird's Nest Earrings

Today I'm going to share with you some earrings I just finished making.  I was playing with some Swarovski pearls and wire.  I made some birds nest earrings to sell in my web store.  

I'm SO looking forward to spring and I thought that some spring type earrings would be fun to make.  What screams spring more than a nest with robin's eggs in it?  

I worked with my camera  to get a better photo. This is is the best I can do for a photo. I think it catches the detail in the wire.

A Flower Shop Birthday

I found a sample of this card on one of Terri's display boards at her last Technique Night.  I thought it was such a pretty black and white card.  There is something about black and white and white on white cards that intrigue me!  I thought this was so pretty that I took a photo of it so I could make it sometime.   Well, that "sometime" is now!

I used a folded half sheet of Basic Black card stock for my base. Then I took a quarter sheet of Whisper White card stock and cut 1/8" off on a long and a short side.  Next I took a piece of Basic Black scrap and cut it 2-1/8" x 5-1/4".  

I ran a quarter sheet of Whisper White through the Big Shot using the "Dotted" folder.  I punched out the flowers using the "Flower Shop" matching punch.  I used a 1/2" circle punch and punched out 3 Basic Black circles from scrap.  I glued them to the center of the flowers.  Yes, glue.  You could use some Glue Dots or Sticky Strip.  You need something that will stick well to the textured paper.  I find that snail tape often comes off so that was when I started using glue. 

The flowers were set in place using Dimensionals.  They were set in the center of the line where the black and white meet.  And in the center of each flower is a rhinestone. 

Add whatever words you wish that fit in the "Word Window" punch and add a little rhinestone to the left side.  As simple as that.

Happy Watercolor Birthday Cards Set

While checking out some "stuff" on You Tube today I ran across a fun and easy card to make.  All the instructions for these cards can be found at "Keenan Kreations' You Tube video.  She has a great how to on making these cards.  

What I found to be a fun think that I didn't know about was the use of the Dimensionals under the wings of the butterfly.  I know that doesn't sound like new news but there is new news!  I added a half a Dimensional under each wing but you do NOT expose the sticky stuff on the top.  You just stick it on the card stock under the wing and leave the top layer on.  This way it keeps the wings propped up.  What a great idea!!!  I'm thinking that the protective part is going to come off my Dimensionals so I may go back and take a paint brush with a little corn starch and make that sticky part not sticky.  Then if the one who receives it doesn't have to wonder what that loose protective piece is all about!!!  One never knows what happens in the mail!!!

These were very fun and quick to make!  After I made the first one I knew I just had to make a set of them!
