Artistically Inked, Art Gallery, Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I can not even begin to tell you how much I like this card. I saw it on Pinterest and I knew I just had to make one.  I didn't have some of the same materials but I made it work with what I had and I'm very pleased with the outcome.  There was no link to the original card so I had no instructions.  So this is how I made the card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Mango Melody card stock for the layer. Before I taped the layer in place, I die cut the center using the second largest die in the "Stitched So Sweetly" set.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was cut and then textured using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder. I glued that piece in place on top of the Mango Melody piece.

I die cut the open flowers image from the "Artistic" dies set using Basic White card stock.

The flowers were stamped using Mango Melody and Pumpkin Pie ink. I stamped them in Mango Melody and then used my Blending Brush and brushed on Pumpkin Pie ink from the edges to the center.  I also added a little Melon Mambo to the center of the flowers. I set a Dimensional on the center of the large open flower and then I sponged on some Melon Mambo right over the sticky part so it would blend in. It's still a little sticky so I may touch it with some corn starch to get rid of that. I don't want it sticking to the inside of the envelope.  I'm pretty sure it will after it goes through the postal machines. Best to play it safe, right? I die cut all the flowers I stamped and I set them aside.

I also die cut the open leaves using Soft Succulent card stock.  I cut off three leaves to use on this card. I put the rest back in the die cut package for a future card.

The words are from the "Art Gallery" set and were stamped using Soft Succulent ink on a piece of Basic White card stock that I later trimmed to 3/8" wide.  I cut the words apart at an angle and then cut that same angle on each end. I added two small Dimensionals to the back of each of the words.

Now it's ready to assemble.

I took the large stamped and die cut flower and attached it to the large open flower image. Turn it around until you think it looks good. I must have spun that thing around more than a contestant on the Wheel of Fortune!  LOL  After I got it where I liked it, I added several Dimensionals to the back of the large stamped flower.  Then I set that in place on the front of the card.

Next I added the second largest flower. I added a Dimensional behind it and slid it under the open flower piece. I did the same with the third largest flower.

The two smaller flowers were set in place on top of the open flower piece using a little bit of Tombow glue.

I glued the ends of the leaves in place and then added the words.  And the card was done!

Like I said at the beginning, I REALLY like this card.

I am making some pretty cards for a special friend's birthday. It's not for a few months but I don't want to be caught whipping up cards at the last minute. So I have an empty Paper Pumpkin box sitting here waiting to be filled with fun cards for her.  It won't be filled but there will be plenty for her to pick and choose from for the people in her life.

Thank you SO very much for stopping by to see today's fun birthday card,
Wanda
