Spooky Halloween, Halloween Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a Halloween card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made. 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. It opens on the right and the fold on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) was cut for the front of the card. It's from the "Spooky Sweet" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the front of the card base.

The character, words and bats are from the "Spooky Halloween" bundle. I stamped the words and character using black Memento ink on Basic White card stock. I colored the face using the SU800 Blends pen. The shirt and socks were colored in using the dark Lemon Lime Twist Blends pen. Light Pumpkin Pie was used for the pants and socks and part of the sleeves. The sucker was colored in using light Daffodil Delight and I added some light Pumpkin Pie dots to it.  The pumpkin was colored in using the dark Pumpkin Pie pen. 

I die cut the character and pumpkin using the matching dies. The bats were cut from a scrap piece of Basic Black card stock.

I fussy cut around the words and then taped them to a scrap piece of Basic Black card stock. I fussy cut around that.

Dimensionals were added to the pieces and they were set in place on the front of the card and the card was done. 

This was a fun card to make and I'm SO ready for the fall colors, though I still want to make more flowered cards.

Florals in Bloom, Simply Said, Note Cards, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a note card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. 

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Summer Splash card stock. On top of that is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock and was textured using the "Exposed Brick" embossing folder. I glued that to the Summer Splash piece. And then that was taped to the card base.

The focal pieces were cut using Summer Splash card stock, it measured 3-1/2" x 2-1/2" and the Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Florals in Bloom" and it was cut at 3-1/4" x 2-1/4". I taped the two pieces together. Dimensionals were added to the back and set in place on the front of the card. It's about 1/2" from the left edge and about 3/8" from the top and bottom of the card base.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and was stamped using Summer Splash ink. I cut it out using a die from the "Stylish Shapes" die set. 

A piece of Peach Pie was used for the layer behind the word piece. I cut it out using the 1-7/8" circle from the retired "Layering Circles" die set. I taped the two circles together and set them in place using Dimensionals on the right side and tape on the left side.

I had a dragonfly sitting on my worktable and glued it to the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a quick and easy card to make and it was a fun layout.

Simply Said, Florals in Bloom, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Cloud Clover card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Florals in Bloom" 12" x 12" package. I taped the DSP to the Cloud Clover and then that was taped to the front of the card base.

The top two smaller layers were made next. The Cloud Clover piece was cut at 3" x 4-1/8" and the DSP is from the same package and was cut at 2-7/8" x 4". I taped the piece in the upper center using removable tape. Taking my old 1-1/4" circle punch and dropped it down to the bottom, I centered it on each side and punched it out. I'm using the old black whale punches. If you use a die you can measure to get it centered. 

I took the punched piece of DSP and set a scrap piece of copier paper and set it behind it. Using the 1-3/8" circle punch and I punched out a ring. This makes the DSP wider so the card stock shows the layer. I taped the two layers together. I added Dimensionals to the back and set it aside.

A 2" x 2" piece of Basic White card stock and I glued the leafy stem piece down. I fussy the flower and set in place using a Dimensional. Taking the layered piece, I hovered over the flower and stem and got it to appear centered in the window and I pressed down on the piece. Then I added a little tape to the back of the 2" x 2" piece and then set on top of the card base.

The words come from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using Basic White card stock with black Memento ink. I cut it out using the die from the "Heart Shaped" bundle. I set it in place using Dimensionals.

I had fussy cut three little pink flowers and glued them to the front of the card. I added a little pearl to the center of the flowers and the card was done.

This was a very fun, quick and easy card to make. I was happy that I was able to use a busy piece of DSP and make it work.

Simply Said, Florals in Bloom, Glass Garden, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a  4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Florals in Bloom" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the front of the card base.

Next I cut a 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" piece of Darling Duckling card stock and set it aside.

The strips of DSP are from the same package and were cut at 1" x 2-1/2". And the bottom piece is a piece of Timid Tiger card stock and was cut at 2" x 3-1/4".  I textured it using the flowered folder from the "Glass Garden" embossing folder set. 

What I did was I had taped the strips on first but it's better to glue the bottom piece on first. Once the bottom was glued on then I taped the strips in place. The distance between the strips and the Timid Tiger piece was pretty narrow but I was able to hide it with the word piece and the ribbon.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on Basic White card stock. I punched them out using the "Heartfelt Hexagon" punch. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card.

I took some white ribbon (retired), tied a bow and glued it to the side of the word piece.

A few crystal rhinestones were added to the front and the card was done.

This was a quick and easy card to make. I'm still not sure if I like the largest layer, I think it's a bit too busy.

Impressions Abloom, Simply Said, Note Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a note card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Damask Design" embossing folder. I glued that to the front of the card.

Next I cut the flowers from the "Impressions Abloom" bundle using Melon Mambo card stock. For the centers I had cut them from Basic White card stock and then colored them using the light Lemon Lolly over the whole thing and then tapped on dark Lemon Lolly. It shows up better in person.

The leaves were cut using a piece of Old Olive card stock.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using Old Olive ink. I cut them out using the second largest circle in the "Stylish Shapes" die set. I glued the circle in place about 3/8" from the right side and 1" from the bottom.

Three Dimensionals were added to the largest flower. I lightly set it on top of the card near the edge of the circle. 

Glue was added to the center of the other two flowers and they were set in place, slightly tucked under the large flower.

The leaves were cut from the stem of leaved I had die cut. Glue was added to the ends and they were slipped under the larger flower. Then the large flower was pressed in place. 

I added Wink of Stella to the center of each flower and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. I let the flowers speak for themselves here.

Peaceful Pier, Painterly Pears, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I found a card on Pinterest that used this particular piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP).  You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how I put this card together.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Petal Pink card stock for the layer. On top of that layer is a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of DSP from the "Painterly Pears" 12" x 12" package. I found this particular design difficult to work with and it's fantastic when I run across a card that used it.  I taped the DSP to the Petal Pink piece and then taped that to the front of the card base. I also cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside of the card.

I fussy cut the pear, stem with leaves and flowers from other pieces of DSP in the package. 

Using the third smallest arched die I cut a piece from Basic Black card stock. 

I taped the pear to the black arch. Then the stem with leaves were added. The little flowers were glued in place just under the stem. And the flower on the left side was slid under the pear. 

The piece was then taped to the the front of the card.

The words are from the "Peaceful Pier" bundle and were stamped using black Memento ink. I trimmed it to measure 3/8" x 2-5/8".  I set the words in place using Dimensionals.

A few tiny pearls were added to the flowers on the pear and three were added to the DSP. And that was it, the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I was thrilled to have been able to use that particular sheet of DSP!

Peaceful Pier, Pretty Florals, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a thinking of you card to share with you. It's a pretty quick and easy card to make. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Blackberry Bliss card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4"piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside.

Next I cut a 1-3/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper from the "Floral Charm" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the left side of the card leaving a 1/4" border around the top, bottom and fold. 

I took a piece of Petunia Pop card stock and textured it using the "Damask Design" embossing folder. I cut it to measure 2-1/4" x 5-1/4".  I glued it to the right side of the card.

A 1/4" piece of Blackberry Bliss card stock was cut for the strip that covered where the DSP and textured card stock met.

The die cut flowers are from the "Pretty Florals" bundle using Bubble Bath card stock. I sponged a little Blackberry Bliss ink on the edges. Then I glued on the Mossy Meadow ends to each flower. I also cut out the leaves using Mossy Meadow card stock.

A 2" x 2-3/4" piece of Basic White card stock was cut for the focal piece. Towards the bottom of it I stamped the words from the "Peaceful Pier" set using Mossy Meadow ink.

I cut a 2-1/4" x 3" piece of Blackberry Bliss card stock for the layer. I taped the two pieces together. Then I added the flowers. I added tape to the largest one and set it in place, I didn't press down on it right away. Then the flower on the right was added. The smallest flower was added using Dimensionals. A tiny amount of glue was added to the stems that I cut off from a larger branch and they were tucked under the flowers. Once they were under the flowers I pressed down on them to secure them and to also hold the leaves down better.

Dimenisonals were added to the back of the focal piece and it was set in place on the center of the card. I eyed it, but it's about 1-1/4" from the top and bottom edge and about 1" from each side. And that was it, the card was done.

I like how it turned out. I mostly like the colors.

Beautiful Gallery, Peaceful Pier, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. I just loved this layout and had to give it a try. You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Mossy Meadow card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White and taped it to the inside.

Next I cut the floral image from the "Beautiful Gallery" using the oval die from the "Impressions Abloom" bundle.

Then I cut the outline piece using Basic White card stock. I used a double sided sticky sheet on my piece of Basic White card stock so I could make that piece a sticker. It can be glued in place but it's a bit missy. I tried that before and learned that using the double sided sticky sheet was the best way to go for me.

The background that the floral image will be taped to is another piece of Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Beautiful Gallery" 6" x 6" stack. It's cut at 3-3/4" x 4-7/8". The Basic White layer behind it was cut at 3-7/8" x 5". 

The words are from the "Peaceful Pier" set and were stamped on the die cut piece that is from the "Countryside Corners" dies. It's a solid die so it was difficult to line up the die on top of the words. What I did was I die cut a blank, then I taped it to a piece of grid paper in my MISTI (Stamparatus) and using a little bit of removable tape I set it in place on the grid paper. Then I traced around it. I lined up the stamp inside that traced area, inked up the stamp and gave it a try. I got it straight the first time! So I put the blank back over the traced area and stamped the words using Mossy Meadow ink. I think this was about the most difficult part of making this card. I did luck out getting it straight the first time. It could have ben moved a little to the left but it's close enough and I didn't want to try that again! 

To put the card together I taped the floral oval on the center of the other piece of DSP. Then the white oval boarder was set in place. Then the piece was taped to the Basic White layer. And then that was taped to the card base.

I took three strands of some gold thread I had and tied a bow. I used a glue dot to set it in place. I cut my tiniest Dimensionals in half and put them on the back of the word strip and that was set in place over the knot on the bow and the card was done.

I like how this turned out, even without any embellishments. The colors are so pretty! Soft and elegant looking.

Beautiful Gallery, The Right Words, Sympathy Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I still had my "Beautiful Gallery" Designer Series Paper (DSP) on my worktable. (like I put anything away right away! LOL). Please read on to see how this card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a piece of Basic White card stock that was just shy of 4" x 5-1/4" so I could tape the DSP and strip of Mossy Meadow card stock to it.

The DSP is from the "Beautiful Gallery" 6" x 6" stack. I cut the piece in half and then trimmed it to 5-1/4". I taped it to the Basic White piece I cut.  I actually made two cards at once since I had cut that piece in half. Why not?

Next I textured a piece of Mossy Meadow card stock using the "Damask Design" embossing folder. I cut the piece to measure 1" x 5-1/4".  I glued it to the Basic White cut piece. I butted up the edge of the card stock to the edge of the DPS.

I took a 6" piece of ribbon (retired) and taped the ends to the back. This is why I needed the Basic White piece cut for taping the DSP and strip to. I didn't want to take a long piece of ribbon and tie it all the way around the front of the card. Making this a layer I didn't use as much ribbon. Plus I find that tying the ribbon around the whole front of the card, it has a tendency to slip off. So you add glue dots and it buckles or bulges a bit. This way the ribbon stays nice and straight.  Tape was added to the back of the piece and it was set in place on the front of the card.

Once the piece was taped to the front of the card I slipped a 4" piece of ribbon under the taped ribbon and tied a not. I like making this kind of a knot because I can easily slid it where I want it. 

The words are from "The Right Words" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I cut them out using the "Labeled With Love" dies. There's a "Labeled With Love" punch but I didn't buy it, I bought the dies. There were 3 of them in the pack so I could cut the word piece and the Mossy Meadow layered piece at the same time. I took the Mossy Meadow piece and cut it in half. I taped the halves to the top and bottom of the word piece so it looked like it was a single layer. Fun way to make a layer the same shape as the word piece without having a die or punch that is a size larger. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. The more I look at it the more I think it should have been a get well card instead of a sympathy card.

Simply Said, Charming Day, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a simple card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Damask Design" embossing folder. I glued that to the front of the card.

Next the rose was made. Using the die from the "Charming Day" bundle I cut one of Granny Apple Green card stock and one of Real Red card stock. I cut the stem part of the red piece and glued the head of the flower on top of the green one. Then I took my dark Real Red Blends pen and colored over the cut lines the die cut made. Using the dark Granny Apple Green Blends pen I colored over the lines the die cut made and I set it aside.

I took a 2" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock and textured it using the "Corrugated" embossing folder. I LOVE that folder and I will keep it forever. I'm considering getting rid of my Fiskars corrugated tool that I thought I was going to keep forever! After texturing the piece I cut it to 4-1/4" long. I glued it to the card base about 5/8" from the top, bottom and fold. 

Then the flower was added on top of the black piece. It was glued on and centered as much as I could by eyeing it. Sometimes eyeing things looks better than actually getting the perfectly centered. If it looks good to your eye, then it's good!

The "hello" is from the "Simply Said" set and was stamped using black Memento ink. I cut it out using the die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. The Real Red layer behind it was cut using a 1-3/8" circle die I had that is retired. I taped the circles together, added Dimensionals to the back and set it in place on the front of the card. And the card was done.

I thought about adding some embellishments but I thought I'd just leave it as it was. It's got a simple and clean look to it.

Beautiful Gallery, Charming Day, Masculine Sympathy Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I found another great card on Pinterest using the "Beautiful Gallery" Designer Series Paper (DSP). I had made a card using this piece before but I didn't use the arches. You can see my card by clicking here. And you can see the original card by clicking here.  Please read on to see how I made today's card. 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut two pieces of Basic White card stock to measure 4" x 5-1/4". One I taped to the inside and the other I textured using the "Demask Designs" embossing folder. I glued that to the front.

Next I cut the arches. One using Basic Black card stock and the other for the image from the "Beautiful Gallery" 6" x 6" stack. I used the 6th and 7th largest dies in the "Everyday Arches" set. I taped the image to the Basic Black piece and then I glued it to the front of the card. I centered it as much as I could by eyeing it.

I cut the leaves from the "Charming Day" bundle using Basic Black card stock. I cut the stem leaving 2 leaves to sit on my worktable debating to recycle them or hold on to them in hopes I could use them on a future card (if I remember I have them!).

The words were done on the computer. I needed the words to be in one long line not stacked on top of each other and this is what I ended up doing. I printed them out on Basic White card stock and cut them out using the die from the "Heart Shaped" bundle. I also cut a Basic Black piece using the same die. I cut that piece in half and then taped each half to the back of the word piece. 

Dimensionals were added to the back of the word piece and it was set in place along the bottom edge of the arched piece and the card was done.

It's sad when you need to make a sympathy card to use instead of just having some in your stash. I don't make very many of them and when I need one I always like to make a "fresh" one instead of shopping from my stash. I think it's because as I'm making it I'm thinking of the person it's honoring.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. I needed a masculine sympathy card and this fits the boll. If I were to make another one I think I would use Basic Beige instead of Basic White for the textured layer.

Simply Said, Beautiful Gallery, Masculine Birthday Cards, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a masculine birthday card to share with you. I found this card on Pinterest and I changed it a little bit. You can see the original card by clicking here.  Please read on to see how I made it.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It was cut in half on the short side so once it was cut it measured 4-1/4" x 11".  I scored it at 5-1/2" and gave the card a nice crisp crease.

Next I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock and textured it using the "Damask Design" embossing folder. I took some white ribbon and taped it over the center to the back. Then I glued it to the card base.

The image is from the "Beautiful Gallery" 6" x 6" stack. I cut it out using the fifth die from the  "Everyday Arches" die set. I used the next larger die to cut the Basic White layer from. I taped the DSP to the Basic White piece.

The arched layers were glued in place, centering it on the front of the card.

I cut the leaves from the "Label Me Grateful" bundle using Pecan Pie card stock. I added a dot of glue on the bottom 5 leaves and set it in place on the front of the card.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I cut them out using the die from the "Heart Shaped" bundle. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card. And the card was done.

This was a such a quick and simple card to make. Not a lot went in to making it yet it is SO beautiful. The image is very rich looking.

Extraordinary Flora, Simply Said, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a "thinking of you" card to share with you.  I found the layout and floral designs for this card on Pinterest. I changed it a bit. You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how I made the card. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Damask Design" embossing folder. I glued it to the front of the card base.

I cut a 1" x 5-1/4" strip of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Brights Collection" 6" x 6" stack. I taped it to a 1-1/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Coastal Cabana card stock. I glued it to the front of the card about 7/8" from the bottom edge of the card base.

The flowers are from the "Extraordinary Flora" washi tape roll.  There's two sections of flowers and greenery on the roll. One is a more pink/flamingo color and the other more melon/ heather color. I cut the melon/heather section and affixed it to a piece of Basic White card stock. Then I cut the images out using the matching die. I glued the flowers in one at a time. I started at the bottom left using the greenery piece. Then the largest flower with leaves was added. I added the double flower one next. Then the rest of the pieces were just tucked in except for the individual flower towards the bottom. I only added glue down the center of each image. I wanted to be able to have room to slip in other pieces but yet have it glued securely in place.

I added the words next. They are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using Coastal Cabana ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the "Labeled With Love" dies. I didn't buy the punch (which is still available). Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the upper right corner of the card.

A brass butterfly was added to the word piece and three rhinestones were added to the front of the card and the card was done.

This was another quick and simple card to make. I just love the flowers from the "Extraordinary Flora" washi tape roll. I love the colors here.

Charming Day, Simply Said, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. I was looking for a card that used that Designer Series Paper (DSP). That sheet in particular. I find it difficult to work with. But when I saw this card I knew I had to make one to use up some of this DSP. Please read on to see how it was made. You can see the original card by clicking here. The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Secret Sea card stock and taped it to the front of the card.

The DSP was cut at 4" x 5-1/4" and I cut it 3". The backside of this piece of DSP is the orange image. I taped the two pieces to the front of the card leaving a 1/4" border all around. 

I cut a 3/8" x 4" piece of Timid Tiger card stock for the strip to cover where the two pieces of DSP meet. I didn't have any ribbon so I just used card stock.

The circle was cut using the largest die in the "Stylish Shapes" set. I cut it using Basic White card stock.

The flowers are from the "Charming Day" bundle and I stamped them using black Memento ink on Basic White card stock. I colored the flowers in using light and dark Petal Pink Blends pen and the center was colored in using the dark Pumpkin Pie Blends pen. I didn't buy the Timid Tiger ones because I don't use the in colors enough to justify buying the blends. I don't usually buy the ink pads either. I buy the ink refills and the empty ink spots. 

Next I colored the leaves using both light and dark Mossy Meadows Blends pens. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set aside.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using Secret Sea ink. I had set the stamp on the circle and then laid the flowers on it to see if I needed to move the words around a bit to get them all on the circle and yet have the flowers placed nicely so they aren't hanging over too far and looking awkward. After a bit of moving them around I settled on them being about 7/8" from the top edge of the circle. Once the words were stamped I taped the circle in place and then the flowers were added. And the card was done.

This was a super quick and easy card to make. Even though I did not have the ribbon, I think the card looks just fine without it and I'm pleased with the way it turned out.
