So in Love, So Detailed, Mother's Day Card

Today I thought I would make a Mother's Day card for my mom.  I didn't want to wait until the last minute like I so often do.  So now it's made and I'll tell you how I did it!!!

I used a folded half-sheet of Soft Sky cardstock.  Then I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of "Falling in Love" Decorative Series Paper (DSP).

I die cut the beautiful flowers from the "So Detailed" Thinlits.  I used the retired glitter paper I had gotten during the Sale-a-Bration.  I could have used  a piece of Tempting Turquoise cardstock if I hadn't had the glitter paper.

I did the words on my computer.

See that cute heart by the words?  That came from the flowers.  One of them makes an adorable heart, so why not use it!! Actually, there are two hearts that come out of those petals.  I added one on the inside.

I cut a piece of Vellum 1-1/4" x 4-1/4".  I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 3/4" x 2-5/8".  My words were done on the computer, so I just printed them out and cut them to size.  I added the heart and then taped it to the Vellum.

Next I took my die cut flowers and taped the left side.  You can't see it but in the design of the Thinlit, there is a thick edge that you can tape down!!! YAY, such smart thinking.  I'd hate to try to glue all of that down.  Then I took the lacy ribbon and cut it to fit around the front of the card.  I taped it to the back.  Then I added a piece of the vanilla satin ribbon and set it on top of the lacy ribbon.  I used that ribbon because you could see that thick edge of the flower part though the lace.  Next I taped the word piece in place.  I only added tape where the white part was on the back. I didn't want the tape to show through the Vellum.  I taped the entire piece onto the Soft Sky card base.  I added a Petite Petals punched out glitter paper flower using a Dimensional. I added a pearl to the middle and it was done!

Super simple and very elegant looking.  I wish we could buy this glitter paper!!! I LOVE those colors.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
