Days to Remember, Dainty Delight, Joy of Christmas, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog.  I feel like I'm being forced to play with my old sets until it's time to order from the new mini catalog and then wait for the order to come. I still like my sets and I don't know why I feel that way but I do. So I will play with what I have and not complain! LOL  Today I made a birthday card, please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut the card in half on the 8-1/2" side so once cut it measured 4-1/4" x 11".  I folded it in half. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Distressed Tile" embossing folder. It was then glued to the front of the card.

A 1-1/2" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Joy of Christmas" package was glued to the front of the card, about 1/2" from the left edge of the embossed piece.

Next I die cut the long curved Garden Green stem using the die in the "Dainty Delight" bundle. I added a tiny dot of glue to each leaf and then set that piece in place over the DSP strip.

The Lemon Lolly flowers were die cut using the die from the same bundle. I die cut three whole ones and one half one. I also die cut the circles using Early Espresso card stock. I glued the centers onto each of the flowers including the half flower. Dimensionals were added to the back of the three whole flowers and they were set in place on the front of the card.

The words are from the "Days to Remember" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. The "Double Oval" punch was used to punch them out. I also used the same punch to make the Garden Green scalloped oval. The two ovals were taped together and then set in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals.

I took the  half flower and added a tiny dot of glue on the back and slipped it between the scalloped piece and the word piece.  And the card was done.

This was a fun and quick card to make and I was able to use another piece of DSP from the "Joy of Christmas" package. It didn't look like holiday leaves to me so why not work it in, right?

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
