Darling Details, Joy of Christmas, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how I made it.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White and die cut the lattice piece from the "Split Card Textures" die set. Then I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) a little shy of 4" x 5-1/4". Using a sponge and glue on a piece of scrap paper, I dabbed glue onto the lattice piece and set it in place on top of the DSP. That piece was then taped in place on the front of the card.

The words are done using the dies from the "Wanted to Say" set. The background was done using Shaded Spruce card stock and the words were done using Basic Black card stock. Using the glued sponge the words were glued in place on the background. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card. Centering it as much as I could towards the bottom of the card.

The flowers are from the "Darling Details" bundle. I stamped the solid part using Bubble Bath ink and the outline was done using Berry Burst ink. I made two flowers. The leaves were stamped using Granny Apple Green ink for the solid part and Garden Green for the details. I die cut the flowers and leaves. Dimensionals were added to the back of one flower and the other pieces were glued in place on the front of the card.

I thought the card was kind of blah so I added some Lemon Lolly to the center of each flower using my marker.  It still wasn't enough so I used my Wink of Stella in the center as well.

I still didn't think it was enough and my Wink of Stella pen was still open so I went over the Basic Black letters to give them some sparkle. It helped but it's still not that great of a card.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
