Penguin Place, Penguin Playmates, Christmas Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

WOW, can you believe it's the last day of August? This month sure went by fast.  The whole summer did. Here's my card for today!

I always struggle making this layout but when I'm done I usually like my card.  Today is no different.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I took a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Penguin Playmates" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the front of the card.

I cut a piece of Balmy Blue card stock for the layers. You can also just cut strips but I just used the solid piece. The top piece was cut from the left at 1-1/4" to the right at 3". The bottom piece was cut from the bottom right corner of the Balmy Blue piece to 3-7/8" up from the bottom on the left.

The Basic White top piece was cut at 1" on the left and 2-7/8" on the right. And the bottom piece was cut to measure 4-1/8" across the bottom and 3-3/4" up from the bottom corner on the left.

I stamped the snowflakes from the "Penguin Place" set using Balmy Blue ink that was stamped off once.

The words are from the same "Penguin Place" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on the bottom Basic White piece. I taped the Basic White pieces to the Balmy Blue pieces and I set them in place on top of the DSP using Dimensionals.

I fussy cut the penguin from a piece of the Penguin Playmates DSP. I added Dimensionals to the back of it and set it aside.

Then I die cut a 2-1/8" circle. I used the piece of Basic White card stock that I had saved from when I used my blending brush to color the snowflakes I used in a card a few days ago. You can see that card here.  I die cut a scalloped circle just a little larger than the Basic White circle and I taped the two circles together. I added three Dimensionals to the back of the circle. I added them in a line. This line of Dimensionals would be going over the DSP area. I used glue on the rest of the circle to hold the edges down.

The penguin was added to the circles.

I had fussy cut a tree and the bird a while back and saved them. They were on a piece of DSP that I had cut some critters from but didn't want to toss out the tree and bird. And when I cut out this penguin there was a full tree left too, so I fussy cut that out and I thought I'd just add the three pieces to this card. I think they look good there!

This was a very fun card to make and I'm VERY pleased with the way it turned out.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by today and see today's fun Christmas card,
Wanda

Color & Contour, Thank You Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I wanted to try to use some of the stamp sets that I bought in May but make them work for a fall card. The flower from the "Color & Contour" set worked just fine going from a spring/summer flower to a fall flower.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I used the stitched scalloped die from the "Scalloped Contour" die set. I measured it about 1/2" up from the bottom of the front of the card.

A 1" x 5-1/2" strip of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Hand-Penned" 12" x 12" package was taped to the bottom of the inside of the card. I wanted to make sure it was wide enough so when the front was closed you didn't see any of the white parts of the inside of the card.

The flowers were stamped using Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, and Cajun Craze inks.  The outline image was stamped over each flower using black Memento ink.  The flowers were then die cut using the matching dies.

The words are from the same "Color & Contour" set and were stamped using black Memento ink.

The set also contains a dotted image and I was going to add it but opted to just keep it simple and clean.

I set the Cajun Craze flower in place buy taping it to the card front.  The other two flowers were set in place with Dimensionals.  I had colored the inside of the flowers using my dark Daffodil Delight Blends pen.  Then I colored some rhinestones using my dark Pumpkin Pie Blends pen and they were set in place on the center of each flower.  And the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. And it's in fall colors!!! Mission accomplished.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by seeing today's fall thank you card,
Wanda

Snowman Season, Merriest Frames, Christmas Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I thought I'd set the Halloween sets aside briefly. I had an idea for a card and I wanted to make it before I forgot. Drawing it out on paper doesn't help. I forget what I drew because I can not draw!! LOL  So here's my card and how I made it.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and I textured it using the "Merriest Frames" embossing folder.  This folder makes a rectangle frame in the middle and there is also a matching die that will cut the piece out too. But since mine went over the edges I opted to just leave it as an embossed piece instead of embossed and cut.

I cut a Basic White rectangle to fit in side the embossed rectangle. It measured 2-7/8" x 2-1/8".  I stamped the snowman from "Snowman Season" using black Memento ink. I colored his scarf and hat in using the dark and light Balmy Blue Blends Pens.  I sponged a little Balmy Blue on the snowman's body. I sponged a little Shaded Spruce over the tree. The nose was colored in using the light Pumpkin Pie Blends pen. The edges were sponged with Balmy Blue and Dimensionals were added to the back.

I die cut the snowflakes from the "Christmas Layers" dies. I didn't purchase any of the new snowflake dies because it just wasn't in my budget. You can replace them with something current. I took my blending brush and colored over the snowflakes using Balmy Blue ink. I colored over it on a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock in the event that what ended up under the snowflakes would be fun to use.  And it was. I made sure that when I brushed over them I held the snowflake down so it didn't move.  I have a fun faded snowflake background. I may die cut another and brush around the open areas. But for now I'm going to finish this card!

The snowflakes were then colored over with the Wink of Stella pen to give them some shimmer. And then they were set in place on the lower right side of the card. I used glue and a toothpick to set the ends in place.

The snowman rectangle was now ready to be set in place.

The words are from the "Snowman Season" set and were stamped using Balmy Blue ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock.  The circle measures 1-3/8". I sponged the edges and added a few Dimensionals to the left side and glue to the right and set it in place.  And the card was done.

This was a very fun and sweet card to make. I am really liking the soft colors of this card.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this soft looking Christmas card,

Cutest Halloween, Cute Halloween, Kid Friendly Halloween Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I found a fun video to follow to make this card. You can see the video here. I did not have all of the elements to make the card as in the video so I used what I had and made it work. You can't have everything. I know I can't. I don't have the room or the money to have it all! There is also a video at another site that will show you how to make the wobble.  It is in German but you don't need to understand the language to follow along. There's probably other videos on how to make the wobble technique, I've just never looked, I found this one and liked it.

There were no measurements in the video for the card, so here's how I made it. The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White and taped it to the inside of the card.

The Highland Heather layer is 4" x 5-1/4" (don't attach it to the card base yet).  On top of that are two different pieces of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Cute Halloween" 6" x 6" stack. The left piece was cut 5" x 2-1/2" and the other piece was cut 5" x 1-3/8".  Those pieces were glued or taped to the Highland Heather piece. I glued mine mostly because my glue was sitting out and my tape is making some odd loud noise when I use it and I wasn't in the mood to listen to that while I was working!  LOL

The ribbon was white and I colored it using my light Highland Heather Blends pen. I let it dry for a little bit before I taped it in place. While it was drying, I marked the back of my Highland Heather piece so I knew where the centers were for the ribbon to go across. I was surprised at how stuff coloring it made the ribbon.  I taped the ends to the back using my noisy tape and then I took some scotch tape and taped over them. I used the double sided tape because I needed it to stick in place so I could tape it down better with the scotch tape.

I didn't have the Stampin' Up! black glitter paper but I did have some other glitter paper so I used that. I cut it 2-1/2" x 4-1/2".  I marked the center and then I cut the bottom into an arrow.  I glued this piece on top of the card so the point was in the center of the space between the two pieces of DSP.

I also didn't have the cute stitched tag dies so I got out my "Ornate Frames" dies and found one that would accommodate the words. This one worked nicely and I cut it from a scrap piece of Highland Heather.  Fortunately I had a scrap piece but it could have been cut from the left side of the 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Highland Heather before the DSP and ribbon were added.  After die cutting the piece, I stamped the words. I did set the piece up in my Stamperatus and stamped them using black Memento ink. I did have to stamp it twice to get it nice and dark. This is why I like to use the Stamparatus for most of my stamping. It has spoiled me. I set this piece in place using Dimensionals. I often wonder how well they stick to glitter.  I guess we'll find out.

The bat was fussy cut from a piece of the DSP in the stack. He's SO darn cute!!!  Then I made the wobble apparatus and put it on the back of the bat and then set the bat in place on the Highland Heather rectangle piece.

The original card used some cute stars on the card. I didn't have those stars but I did have some purple sequins. I set the one on the ribbon in place using a glue dot but the other two I used mono glue to hold them in place. That glue is fabulous and holds nicely to the glitter paper.  And my card was done.  I think it's adorable. That's why I had to make it when I saw it on the internet.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this cute bat card,

Cutest Halloween, Kid Friendly Halloween Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I was looking to make a clean and simple Halloween card but yet kid friendly.  Being I bought the "Cutest Halloween" set, I was just fine with the kid friendly part!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card was cut in half on the short side so it measured 4-1/4" x 11" before folding at 5-1/2".

I had a strip of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Cute Halloween" 6" x 6" stack.  It was left over from another project and it measured 4-1/4" x 7/8".  I cut a 4-1/4" x just a little over 1". I didn't want to cut at 1-1/8" because it would be too wide. It's more like 1/16" if you need a number. I taped the DSP to the card stock and I set it aside.

The spider web is from the "Frightful Tags" dies. I cut it from a piece of Basic Black card stock.

I set the strip on the card and the spider web to the left so I could see where the spider was going to go. I set the spider from the "Cutest Halloween" in my Stamparatus and stamped it using black Memento ink. I stamped it three times to get it nice and solid. I drew the line in with a black pen.

I set the words and the candy corn in my Stamparatus and stamped both of them at the same time. I had to stamp the candy corn twice and the words three times.  I colored the top part of the candy corn in using my Daffodil Delight marker.

Now I was ready to assemble. I added a dot of glue to the center of the spider web and I set it in place making sure to line up the web with the spider line. You can click on the photo to enlarge it but I don't think you will be able to see the sparkle. I didn't catch the light right.

The DSP strip was taped on top of the upper part of the web. The top of the strip is about 1-1/8" from the top of the card.  Then I took some glue and a toothpick and touched a little bit of glue on the tips of the web to hold it down.

I felt the card still needed something so I bet you can guess what I did.  Yup, I grabbed my Wink of Stalla pen and colored the web in. It added a nice touch.

This was a very fun clean and simple Halloween card to make. If I were to make another one, I think I would use colored card stock for the base and tape the white on the top. I think the card could use a colored border.

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop by and see today's Halloween card,

Penguin Place, Christmas Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I am SO loving these cute little penguins in the "Penguin Place" set. Plus there's a punch so you don't have to fussy cut the guy (his body and feet).

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Fresh Freesia card stock.

I cut two 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic White card stock. One for the front and one for the inside.

The dotted strip and the Fresh Freesia colored Designer Series Papers (DSP) are from the "Penguin Playmates" 12" x 12" package.  The dotted strip measures 4" x 1-1/4" and the Fresh Freesia piece was cut at 4" x 2-1/4".  The dotted piece was taped to a 4" x 1-3/8" piece of Fresh Freesia card stock.  And the other piece of DSP was taped to a 4-1/8" x 2-3/8" piece of Fresh Freesia card stock.

I set the pieces on the Basic White piece so I could see where the snowflakes would be stamped.  They were from the same "Penguin Place" and were stamped using Fresh Freesia ink. After they were stamped, I taped the dotted strip in place about 1-1/4" from the bottom of the Basic White piece. The other layer was taped in place about 1/2" from the bottom of the Basic White piece.

The Basic White panel the penguin is on measures 1-3/4" x 2-5/8" and the layer behind it was cut at 1-7/8" x 2-3/4".  I stamped the snowflakes on the piece using Fresh Freesia ink that was stamped off once. Then I took my blending brush and scrubbed the whole area with Fresh Freesia ink. it was just too bright and it needed to be toned down. The two layers were then taped together. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card lining up the top and two sides so they were equal distances apart from the edges.

The penguin was made by punching out a Basic Black piece and a Basic White piece of card stock. The eyes were stamped using black Memento ink and the bead was stamped using Crushed Curry ink. I was going to use Pumpkin Pie but I thought it would be too dark and your eyes would go directly to it. Crushed Curry was much more subtle. I glued the two body pieces together. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the center of the panel.

The feet were stamped using Crushed Curry in on Basic White card stock, a scrap piece will do. They were then punched out. Small Dimensionals were added to each foot and they were set in place on the penguin.

The words are from the same set and were stamped using black Memento ink. They were cut to 1/2" x 1-7/8" and the layer behind it was cut at 5/8" x 2". The two pieces were taped together and set in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals.  The words were supposed to be evenly spaced from the penguin panel and the bottom of the long panel but I got mine a little too high.  But it's okay, it still looks fine.

I added the 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White to the inside and the card was done.

This was a very fun card to make. I am loving the look of the Fresh Freesia for the Christmas cards. Not a color I would have picked for Christmas but I am liking it.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see todays Christmas card,

Cutest Halloween, Kid Friendly Halloween Card, 2021 Stammpin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I still had my "Cutest Halloween" set out (no surprise there since I don't like to put anything away!) and here's what I did with it today.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I was going to use one of the other colors in the Designer Series Paper (DSP) but they took away from the brightness of the white and didn't make it look as "friendly".  So white it was! This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock for the layer and I taped it to the Basic White base. Then I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of DSP from the "Cute Halloween" 6" x 6" stack.

The pumpkins are from the "Cutest Halloween" set and the outline was stamped first using black Memento ink and the centers were stamped using Pumpkin Pie ink. Then I stamped the faces using black Memento ink. The stems were colored using a Soft Suede marker. The pumpkins were punched out.

The fence is from the "Frightful Tags" dies. I cut three from Basic Black card stock and I glued them at the posts to make one piece. Then I glued the posts only to the front of the card.

The center pumpkin was set in place with Dimensionals and the other two were glued in place.

The tree is from the same "Frightful Tags" and was die cut using Early Espresso card stock. Glue was added up the trunk and it was slipped in behind the first pumpkin. You will want to do this shortly after you glue the pumpkin so you have room to slip the trunk behind it. I didn't add any glue to the tips of the branches until the moon was made.

The moon is a 1-3/8" circle and I stamped the bat from the "Frightfully Cute" Halloween set. I used black Memento ink but it didn't stamp dark enough so I colored it in with my Basic Black marker. That's why the ears look a little odd.  Did you ever try to be really careful and then suddenly your hand shook?  Well, that's what mine did but it didn't do it too bad so I just went with it.  I glued the moon behind the tree branches and then I took a toothpick and glue and added some to the branches so they stuck.

The words are from the "Cutes Halloween" set and were stamped using Early Espresso ink. I stamped them on a 1/2" strip of Basic White and after I stamped them I clipped the ends with my scissor. I set the words in place using Dimensionals.

And once again I added some Wink of Stella to the faces of the pumpkins and the card was done.

This was a very fun and easy card to make. And it's not scary at all!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see my kid friendly Halloween card,

Cutest Halloween, Kid Friendly Halloween Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I thought I would make a kid friendly Halloween card today and this is what I came up with.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Highland Heather card stock. Before I taped it in place on the front of the card I die cut the long lacy rectangle piece from the "Ornate Layers" dies.

Also in that pack of dies is the center Basic White rectangle and another die I used at the same time to cut the center out.

I cut a piece of Basic Black card stock that was just a little smaller than the Basic White rectangle piece and I glued the two together. I added Dimensionals to the back and affixed it to the Highland Heather lacy rectangle piece.

The pumpkin and the words are from the "Cutest Halloween" set. I stamped the black outline of the pumpkin first and then the Pumpkin Pie orange center. The words were stamped using black Memento ink. The circles measure 1-3/8".  I had a die from the "Frightful Tags" that has a circle in it that I used for my card. I had die cut two black and then the word piece (I did stamp the words before cutting). The pumpkins have a punch so I just punched them out when I was done stamping them. Then I stamped the faces and colored the top with Early Espresso ink. I added Dimensionals to the back of each pumpkin and affixed them to the black circles. The word circle just had Dimenisonals only, no layer behind it.

I taped the lacy piece to the left side of the card and I spaced out the circles and set them on the right side.

I decided the pumpkins needed something so I added Wink of Stella to the eyes and mouth of each of them.

I also added some orange colored rhinestones to the rectangle panel. I colored the smallest rhinestones with my Pumpkin Pie Blends pen and the card was done.

I think it's perfect for a child or adult. It's fun and festive. I just LOVE that dotted background.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by to see my fun kid friendly Halloween card,
Wanda

Penguin Place, Birthday Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I have been having some fun playing with the new "Penguin Place" stamp set and punch. Here's what I came up with for today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a 4-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Penguin Playmates" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the front of the card base.

Next I took a piece of Basic White card stock and I cut the largest scalloped stitched die from the "Stitched So Sweetly" dies.

Then I took my Pool Party ink and the wavy line from the "Penguin Place" set and stamped the snow line on the rectangle piece. It doesn't really matter where you place the line, the penguin will sit on top of it and everything else just fits in.

I stamped the penguin using black Memento ink and I punched her out. Then I stamped her beak using Crushed Curry ink. I also stamped the feet on a scrap piece of Basic White using Crushed Curry ink. I punched the feet out and fussy cut the beak.

The bow was stamped using Fresh Freesia ink and was fussy cut. The balloon was stamped with Fresh Freesia too and was punched out using the smaller balloon in the retired balloon punch. I was glad I hadn't gotten rid of mine. It was by chance I grabbed it to see if it would work with this balloon and much to my delight, it did!

I set (not taped) the penguin on the front of the card so I could see where the tree, gift and words were going to go.

I inked up the tree with Shaded Spruce ink and I took my Blends pen and removed the ink from the trunk and colored it in using my Early Espresso marker. I stamped the tree on the snowline.

The gift was stamped using Crushed Curry in and was done near the tree. And the words were stamped using black Memento ink.

With the penguin still on the front of my rectangle piece, I could see where I needed to stamp the balloon string. That was done using black Memento ink. Then I taped the rectangle piece in place on the front of the card.

I put the penguin's feet on using small Dimensionals. I glued the bow right to the head and I added Dimensionals to the back of the penguin and the balloon.

I set the penguin in place making sure the arm is in front of the string image.

I added the balloon and the card was done.

This was a very fun, quick and easy card to make.  I think it's adorable.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this sweet penguin card,

Penguin Place, Christmas Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

How much do you like these cute penguins in the "Penguin Place" set and the Designer Series Paper (DSP)?  I have lots of plans for this set and this was one of them.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I taped a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Balmy Blue to the top of it.

The DSP is from the "You're a Peach" 12" x 12" package. I didn't have any Christmas DSP so I thought this striped image would work well.  After I had finished my card I remembered I had gotten the matching penguin DSP.  SO much for a good memory!!! LOL Anyway, my card worked out and that's all that mattered.

I cut my DSP 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" and I taped it to the Balmy Blue piece.

The words are from the "Penguin Place" set and were stamped using Balmy Blue ink. I die cut them with the die from the "Frightful Tags" die pack.  I added Dimensionals to the back and I set them aside.

I stamped the penguin from the "Penguin Place" set using black Memento ink. The feet and beak were stamped using Crushed Curry ink and the penguin and feet were punched out. The beak was fussy cut. The hat was stamped using Balmy Blue ink and was fussy cut too.

I glued the feet, beak and hat in place.

I took the dome and traced it onto a piece of Balmy Blue card stock. I trimmed inside the pencil lines so it wouldn't show once attached to the dome.  I stamped the snowflakes using Balmy Blue ink. Then I glued the penguin in place.

The dome was turned over and some white glitter was added to it. Then I removed the covering and exposed the sticky layer. I set the Balmy Blue piece I had cut out on top of the dome.

I did regret not getting the die for the dome but I just couldn't afford it, I bought too many other items. So I glued the dome piece to the front of the card. I thought I'd just leave it with the white protective layer and then I thought I should remove it. It's not meant to be on there permanently and could come off, so I removed it and added glitter.

The words were added and the card was done.

It didn't dawn on me until I was done with the card but I could trace that strip I took off and make a template that I can fussy cut out to put over the dome to hide those edges.  DUH!  See, I told you "so much for a good memory"! But I will try hard to remember that when I use the domes again. They are just too darn cute and I thought they'd be fun to play with using the penguin.

This was a fun card to make. It was nice thinking of snow on such a hot day.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's Christmas card,
Wanda

Frightfully Cute, Halloween Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

When shopping in the Stampin' Up! 2021 Holiday Catalog, I saw this really great die set "Frightful Tags". The fence, tree and spider web caught my eye. How can you go wrong having those three items for a Halloween card? The "Frightfully Cute" set is part of the bundle, so I had to go for it all! It's too bad the witch didn't have a die cut though.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I used a blending brush and I first colored the whole front lightly with Smoky Slate ink. Then I used some Pacific Point ink. But I thought I should make the sky a little bit darker so I added some Night of Navy ink. I also wanted the appearance that the sun had recently set so I added some Flirty Flamingo on the horizon. For the grassy area I brushed on some Old Olive.  Then I used my chalk pen to make dots in the sky for stars. If you don't have that pen, you can use a gel pen or if you have some white acrylic paint, grab a toothpick and add your dots that way.

I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Cute Halloween" 6" x 6" stack. There's some REALLY cute papers in that pack.  I chose the house ones because I wanted to give the impression of a neighborhood. I cut the piece 5-1/4" x 2". I set it aside.

I die cut two fences using Basic Black card stock. I glued the two posts in the center together. I didn't want to have two posts next to each other. I wanted to have the look of a long continuous fence. And then I die cut the tree from Early Espresso card stock.

Glue was added to the three posts (one is behind the DSP) and I set the fence in place. Then the DSP strip was taped down. Glue was added to the back of the tree and it was slipped under the fence. It's easy to do because that part is not glued down.

I stamped the moon on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using Daffodil Delight ink and then rolling the edges of the stamp on the Crushed Curry in pad. I took my blending brush and dragged the ink on the edges towards the center. I used Terri's modified Rock n Roll Technique to do that. You can see that technique here.  Then I die cut the moon with the matching die. I glued it in place on the front of the card.

The witch was stamped using black Memento ink. Don't worry about not getting her stamped so solidly, we will tend to that later.  I fussy cut her out. That was not fun. I'd recommend cutting the broom first. Cut a rounded area around the bristles and then snip inward to get the ends of the broom nice and sharp looking. I did the same with her hair too. It's the easiest way to make sure you get that rough look without bending the card stock to get into those little areas. When I was done fussy cutting I set her down on some scrap paper and I took my Basic Black marker and I traced around her. This let me color the edges, especially where I left some white card stock showing.  Then I colored over the entire piece. This let me make her solid black in color. I set it aside to dry.

The words are from the "Frightfully Cute" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using black Memento ink. I die cut them with the die from the "Frightful Tags" die set. I don't know if you can see it but there's a tiny indented edge all around the word piece.  I set the words in place with Dimensionals and then I set the witch in place on the moon with Dimensionals and the card was done.

This was a very fun card to make. I don't think I'd make a bunch of them because I don't think I would like fussy cutting more than one witch for now! LOL

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see my flying witch Halloween card,

All Squared Away, Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

My card today is from the "All Squared Away" set for the words and the dies for the flowers.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. The sheet was cut in half on the short side so the half piece measured 4-1/4" x 11. I scored it at 5-1/2" and folded it in half.

I took a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder.

Then I cut a 4-3/4" x 2" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the 2021-2022 in colors 6" x 6" stack. I glued it in place on the left side of the card. Then I took some white Baker's Twine and wrapped it around the card twice. I taped the ends on the backside using scotch tape. The twine was wrapped about 1-7/8" up from the bottom of the embossed piece.

I die cut the flower square from the "Floral Squares" dies. I die cut 4 of them and glued each one on top of the other. I took my dark Shaded Spruce Blends pen and colored the leaves. The flowers were "colored" by using the flower dies and a scrap piece of the matching DSP. Oh, my color of DSP is Pale Papaya. I cut a 1-13/16" x 1-13/16" Basic White square for the back of the flower piece. I glued the flower square to it. I set a punch on top of it to dry and to keep it flat.

The words are from the "All Squared Away" set and were stamped on a 1/2" x 3-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock using Shaded Spruce ink. I clipped the left side at an angle. The words were set in place using Dimensionals.

The square was set in place using Dimensionals. I added some Wink of Stella to the flowers. The needed a little sparkle. I tried to capture it in the photo. If you click on the photo you might be able to see the sparkle.

Next I slipped a 7" piece of Bakers' Twine under the two strands and tied a bow. I didn't tie a knot first, I just took the twine and made loops and tied it that way.

I colored some rhinestones using my dark Crushed Curry Blends pen and set them in place on the front of the card when they were dry. You might want to do the coloring of them before you start assembling the card to make sure they are dry.

This was a very fun and easy card to make. I have not been having as much fun with this set as I thought I would but lately I've found some fun cards for inspiration.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Artistically Inked, Ornate Layers, Friendship Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Today I needed to make a card to send to a friend to say hello and let her know I'm thinking of her. Here's what I came up with.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Very Vanilla card stock.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Pale Papaya card stock and textured it with the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder. I ended up trimming my card to 3-7/8" x 5-1/4" because I wanted more of the Very Vanilla to show.

Next I cut the lacy frame from the "Ornate Layers" dies and Shaded Spruce card stock.  I LOVE the look of that frame but I don't like picking out all of the tiny dots that get stuck in the holes. But I do it because I love the look of it!!  Again, I'm whining!! LOL

The Designer Series Paper (DPS) is from the "Expressions in Ink" 12" x12" package and was cut 3-1/2" x 2-1/8" and taped in place on the lacy piece. Then the lacy piece was set in place on top of the textured Pale Papaya piece using Dimensionals.

The flower is from the "Artistically Inked" set and was stamped using Pale Papaya ink and then the edges rolled in Pumpkin Pie ink. I used Terri's technique of taking my blending brush and dragging the Pumpkin Pie color inward to create a softer look yet darker on the edges. Then I colored this piece using Wink of Stella after I die cut it.

The tiny flower was stamped by inking it up using Pumpkin Pie ink and then stamping off. Then I lightly touched it to the Pumpkin Pie ink pad and then stamped it on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock. I also added Wink of Stella to the tiny flower after I die cut it. Then I took my black marker and I added some tiny dots to the center. I set that little flower in place with a small Dimensional.

The words are from the "Artistically Inked" set and were stamped using Shaded Spruce ink on Very Vanilla card stock. I used the rectangle stitched die from the "Ornate Layers" dies. I made sure I had the words on the left side of the die since the die was too long and I'd be tucking it in under the flower. I used glue to attach the words to the flower and then I turned it over and added Dimensionals to the back. Before setting it in place I had die cut the open leaves from the "Artistic Dies" set using gold foil card stock. I cut off two leaves and added them to the front of the card with a little glue. I had set the word piece over the leaves first for placement. Then the word piece was set in place and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make and now I have to go clean the dots out of my die!! :o)

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see my friendship card today,

Penguin Place, Christmas Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I think this penguin is the cutest thing since the bambi looking reindeer a few years ago. I love the looks of this little guy. I can punch him from Designer Series Paper (DSP) or I can punch him from card stock, OR I can stamp him and then punch him.  I found today's card on Pinterest. You can see the original card here.

The first thing I did was I punched out the body using Basic Black card stock. Then I punched out the white front piece. The eyes got stamped on next using black Memento ink. The mouth was added using Pumpkin Pie ink.

I glued the white front piece to the body and set it aside to dry.

The feet were then stamped on Pumpkin Pie card stock using Pumpkin Pie ink. I punched them out. They do not come in a pair so you need to stamp and punch two per penguin.  I glued the feet to the back of the body piece. I used glue because I was only gluing a tiny part of the tip of the foot piece. I wanted a lot of foot to show.  I set it aside to dry.

I stamped the scarf using Bermuda Bay ink. I tried to find a fun ink to use that wouldn't stand out too much but yet would add a different color to the card. I had to fussy cut this piece. I glued it in place on the penguin.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. The card opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I used Pool Party ink and my blending brush to scrub in some ink where the penguin will be sitting.  Then I took Pool Party ink and stamped on the snowflakes.

I set the penguin on top to see where the words were going to go. The words are from the same "Penguin Place" set and were stamped using Bermuda Bay ink.

The penguin was set in place using Dimensionals.  I thought the card could use a bit of sparkle to I added a dot of Wink of Stella to the center of each snowflake. It was just what the card needed.

This was a very fun card to make. It was quick and easy enough too.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time today to stop by and see this cute penguin card,

Sweet Strawberry, Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I had one more strawberry card I wanted to make using the "Sweet Strawberry" set before I put it back on the shelf.  Yup, I will actually put it back on the shelf!! I'm trying hard to keep the room more organized. I've been working on drawers and next will be cupboards and after the cupboards will be the closet under the stairs. It's full of craft supplies. I'm trying to downsize some of my crafting stuff and get red of the obsolete stuff (to start with). I have scaled back on my crafts and plan to just keep what I know I will work on.  I will continue to do cards!  I love making cards. I find it fun and relaxing.  I found today's card here

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Poppy Parade card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.  The Designer Series Paper (DSP) used here is from the "Berry Delightful" 12" x 12" package. It was in the spring mini catalog and it is retired.  But I still have a half a package left and I would really like to use it up. It's got some great designs in it.

The DSP was cut at 5-1/2" x 3-1/2". I had to convert the measurements from centimeters to inches. I may have messed up because the DSP should have been cut at 5-1/2" x 3-3/4" but I set mine so the sides were equal so it didn't look so short on each side.  I could have trimmed the other end to make it measure 5-1/4" and it might have looked more even. But being the DSP looks like it melts right into the card stock it doesn't show as much.

On the left side is a piece of DSP from the same package and I die cut the strip using the "Painted Flowers" dies. I used the same print of DSP for the scalloped square frame (the dies are retired). I used the largest scalloped one for this card.

The Basic White piece was cut 2-3/4" x 2-3/4". I scrubbed in some Pool Party ink on it and heavier in the upper right corner.

I stamped the strawberries using Poppy Parade ink. I stamped the outline image twice to make it nice and dark and then I punched them out. I colored them with Blends pens in the following colors, Flirty Flamingo, Poppy Parade and Cherry Cobbler.  I colored way outside the stamped outline image.

The stems were stamped using Granny Apple Green card stock and they were stamped using Granny Apple Green ink for both the outline and the solid part.

There is another leaf image with the blossoms on it. That was stamped using black Memento ink and then fussy cut. Do this first because it's the least fun part of this card!!! LOL  I colored the leaves in using both light and dark Granny Apple Green Blends. And the flower was colored in on the center area using light Flirty Flamingo. I added a little Daffodil Delight to the center.  The original card instructions said she took her light Pool Party Blends pen and colored around the blossoms and stem on the white part that was showing after fussy cutting. It blended better with the background. I taped the Basic White piece to the square DSP piece and set it in place using Dimensionals.

I taped the blossom piece in place first. I made sure not to press down on the leaves on the right.

Then I set the left strawberry in place and the right one went on top and under the blossoms and leaves piece.

I had some green twine left from a Paper Pumpkin kit and I tied a bow and glued it in place. That area really does need something. You can also take your Blends pen or marker and color white Baker's twine and make your own.

The words are from the same set and were stamped using black Memento ink on Basic White card stock. I die cut them using the Stitched oval die. And a Granny Apple Green scalloped oval was cut for the layer behind it. They were taped together and set in place using Dimensionals.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was added to the inside of the card and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make though I don't think I'd make another one. I didn't enjoy the fussy cutting on here and coloring the strawberries took more time than I thought they would.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this sweet birthday card,

Sweet Strawberry, Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I'm sneaking in a non-new holiday catalog card every now and then. I still want to play with all of my stuff but am itching to play with the holiday catalog stuff more.  Though I didn't buy very many sets from the holiday catalog but I still want to play with what I have. I'm sure I'll get a nice balance as soon as the newness wears off.  I found this card on Pinterest. You can see the original card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Poppy Parade. The original card used Real Red.  That works too but I find that Poppy Parade is a softer red for strawberries. It's a personal preference. I stamped 5 strawberries. I used black Memento ink for the outline of the strawberries and Poppy Parade for the solid part. Since I was making more than one, I set up the stamp in my Stamparatus and I was able to stamp 5 of them pretty fast.

The stems were stamped using Granny Apple Green for both the outline and the solid part.  Though I did stamp the outline twice to make it more solid and defined.

I punched out the strawberries and the stems and then glued the stems to the strawberry.

Two 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic White card stock was cut for the front of the card and for the inside.  On the front piece I set one strawberry at the bottom left corner so I could see how much room I had for words. The words are from the "Sweet Strawberry" set and were stamped using Granny Apple Green ink. I set it up in my Stamparatus so I could stamp the words twice to make them dark enough. Then I taped the piece to the front of the card.

The strawberries were added. I started with the top one. I used Dimensionals on it except for the tip, I left that open so I could slip the next strawberry under it. Then the next two strawberries were glued in place. The bottom strawberry was set in place using Dimensionals.

the 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was glued to the inside of the card and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy birthday card to make. I just love this "Sweet Strawberry" set and hope to play with it again before the weather gets cooler and the fall colors start to come into play.

Thank you SO very much for stopping by to see this strawberry birthday card,

Cutest Halloween, Frightfully Cute, Frightful Tags, Halloween Card, 2021 Holiday Catalog

I had ordered a couple of cute Halloween sets that I thought would be fun for the granddaughters to play with that wouldn't be scary or cause them to ask me too many questions about frightful things.  So I thought these would be on the lighter side. Nothing to go bump in the night here.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Highland Heather. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.  I used the "Corner Flip" technique on this card. It's a perfect card layout for these smaller images. I had done this technique before and I looked back on my directions and I was able to repeat it without going "huh".  LOL  That's a good thing!!!

So to make the cuts on the card you place the long side of the card on your paper trimmer, not paper cutter.  The left edge is on the 3" mark. Take the blade and put it at the 4-7/8" mark and cut up to the 2-1/2" mark. Turn the card stock clockwise (the short end is not on the top of the trimmer) and place the blade on the 3" mark and cut up to the 5/8" mark. When you put your blade at the 3" mark you will notice that the cut mark from the first cut is right there.

Fold your card in half. I find it easier if you do this before you flip the corner. You can see which is easier for you. I also fold my card in half before I even make my cuts. I just open it up to cut it, it really doesn't make a difference.  The side you are cutting is actually the front of your card.

For the black and white layer of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Cute Halloween" 6" x 6" stack, I cut the piece 4" x 5-1/4". I set it on top of my unflipped card and I marked it on the top and the right side so I could cut the angle. It's about 1/2" in on the top and about 1-7/8" up from the bottom on the right side. I usually just take my 4" x 5-1/4" piece and mark it with my fingernail or a pencil and line it up on the paper cutter and cut the angle. Do what works the best for you.

There, now we've got the major parts done so the fun can start.

Flip your corner and tape or glue it down. I prefer glue because I know it will stay. I glue it and set a punch on top of it while I'm working on the rest of the parts. Set your punch upside down on it so there's more surface coverage.

For my white square, I cut two 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" pieces of Basic White card stock. One for the front and one to cover the mess on the backside of the front. You can leave it plain but it's not very pretty. Plus you can also stamp on that square as well.

I glued the squares in place and again I set the punch back on top to let it set up.

I had bought the "Frightful Tags" dies. I thought I would get a lot of use out of it. It has some fun elements that caught my eye. The spider web, the tree, the witches hat and the fence were the biggest selling features for me. I like the rest of the dies but these are the ones that were of great interest to me. I die cut a Basic Black spider web. I should have used the double sided sticky paper but I forgot. I added a dot of glue in the middle and then I added some glue to a scrap piece of card stock and used a toothpick to put some glue on areas that stuck up.

The ghost is from a piece of DSP in the same "Cute Halloween" stack and the punch from the "Cutest Halloween" bundle.  You can also punch out a pumpkin and cat head too!  There was a spider in the set to stamp but I would have to fussy cut it. We can't have that now, can we?  LOL  I had my heart on that ghost so there was no changing that. I set the ghost in place using Dimensionals.

The spider web needed something more so I added some of the sequins from the "Subtle Shimmer Sequins" container from the new Holiday catalog. I used the ones that looked like pearly vellum. I glued them in place on the spider web.

The words are from the "Frightfully Cute" set and were stamped using Black Memento ink. I also stamped a little pumpkin under the words. It came from the "Frightfully Cute" set. I die cut them using a die from the "Ornate Frames" die set. I tried the die from the "Frightful Tags" but it was too big so I had to hunt for something that would fit that space on the bottom.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was added to the inside of the card and the card was done.

This was a very fun card to make. I like how cute it is and not scary for kids!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this cute Halloween card,

Penguin Place, Penguin Pals, Christmas Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

Okay, one more card using the "Penguin Place" stamp set and "Penguin Pals" Designer Series Paper (DSP). I am posting another one so soon only because I had cut two pieces of the DSP yesterday and I didn't want to save it for later because I might misplace it or ruin it. You can see the original card here

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

I had die cut my DSP yesterday using the "Penguin Pals" package.  I had also die cut a piece of Basic White card stock using the same largest rectangle stitched die. I taped the two pieces of DSP to the Basic White die cut piece. Dimensionals were added to the back of the piece and set in place on top of a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

I fussy cut the bear and the fox. The penguin was punched out using the matching punch that was in the bundle.

The bear was set in place using Dimensionals. I did move it down lower than they are on the original card.

The penguin was added on the left and the fox on the right. I made sure I didn't add any Dimensionals to the parts where they are sitting on the bear.

The words are also different. I used the same ones I stamped yesterday. They are from the "Penguin Place" set and were stamped on a piece of Basic White card stock using Misty Moonlight ink. I punched them out using the "Double Oval" punch. I also punched out the scalloped oval from that same punch using Misty Moonlight card stock. I taped the ovals together and added Dimensionals to the back and the card was done.

I like how quickly these cards go together using the DSP.  Wouldn't it be fun if the DSP was already die cut so all you have to do is remove them from the sheet?  That was my little dig at fussy cutting because it's not one of my favorite things.  That and embossing powder. I love how it looks but I don't like doing it.  That's part of the reason I changed the wording on the card.  Confession time!! LOL

Tomorrow I will not be using this set!! Promise!

Thank you ever SO much for taking your time to stop by and see today's Christmas card,
Wanda

Penguin Place, Penguin Playmates, Christmas Card, 2021 Holiday Catalog

I was so excited to get this penguin set. I have always been fond of penguins from when I was a child and saw the cartoon with Chilly Willy.  How could you not like penguins after that. Now I have never encountered one to know if my fondness could fail upon meeting. You know, like with camels. They look sweet and soft but they will spit on you.  Not so fond of them anymore. I'd never been spit on by one but have been warned plus I've seen signs that say to stay behind a line or you could get spit on.  How rude!! ( I mean the camel, not the sign! LOL).  Okay, I found today's card on Pinterest. You can see the original card here.

I liked the look of this card not only because of the cute characters but because of that dotted Designer Series Paper (DSP).

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

I took two different pieces of the DSP from the "Penguin Playmates" 12" x 12" package and I die cut them with the largest stitched rectangle die. I die cut them both at the same time. I marked the top left about 1" on the side and 3/4" on the bottom right.  With both pieces still together, I cut them from pencil mark to pencil mark. I did this so the lines would match up when the piece was put together.  I also die cut another stitched rectangle from Basic White card stock. I needed something to tape the DSP to. I taped the striped piece on the bottom and the dotted piece on the top. I added Dimensionals to this piece and I set it in place on top of the card base.

I fussy cut the bear and penguin from the "Penguin Playmates" DSP that I had gotten free for placing a $50 order. I set the bear in place first using Dimensionals and then the penguin was set in place taking care not to put any Dimensionals on the side where it is laying over the bear.

I changed the word piece. I stamped the words from the "Penguin Place" set using Misty Moonlight ink and I punched them using the "Double Oval" punch.

I also punched the scalloped piece from the same punch using Misty Moonlight card stock. I taped the two ovals together. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the card. And that was it. The card was done.

This was a very fun and easy card to make. I need to turn on a movie and do some serious fussy cutting so I have the characters all ready to go to make more cards later.

Thank you SO very much for stopping by to see this cute Christmas Card,
Wanda

Penguin Place, Penguin Playmates, Christmas Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

The new Holiday mini and fall Sale-a-Brations catalogs were available to purchase from on August 3rd. I seem to have issues getting Chrome to work with my ordering. I have no idea what the issue is but for the last three big selling events I've had issues. I was able to use Edge for my browser the last two times but this time that didn't work either. I had ended up using my phone to order. I HATE typing on my phone let alone placing a Stampin' Up! order. I end up forgetting to add things or I don't hit the enter button. I found it frustrating.  This time I took hubby's iPad and used that to order and I was able to place it that way. It was a lot easier than using the phone but not as easy as using the computer. But I got it ordered on the 3rd and much to my surprise it arrived on Saturday the 7th.  I have never ever had an order arrive that quickly. I did get tracking info one time stating that an order was arriving at an early date like this but it ended up arriving from UPS to USPS and it took another 5 days to get to me.  So I didn't have my hopes up, I was thinking this is what was going on again.  But no, it was my order and it was here on Saturday. I was not ready to play with my new stuff yet. I still had some things on my list for the items I had purchased in June. I was able to hold off for a few days but today I couldn't stand it any longer. I had seen this cute card and it was bugging me to make.  So here it is.  You can see the original card here

So here's how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I taped a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Penguin Playmates" 12" x 12" package.  I got the DSP free with a $50 order! I taped the DSP in place.

Next I took a piece of Basic White card stock and I used the second and third stitched rectangle dies and die cut the frame. The original card used the largest and second largest but I thought a little smaller would help shrink that wide open area on the top. I cut off the bottom plus 1-1/4" up on the sides. You can use a scissors for this because the penguins will hide the ends.

I took another piece of Basic White card stock that measured 4-1/4" x 2-1/4" and I cut a couple of hills on each side and a little valley in the middle. The words from the "Penguin Place" were stamped on this piece using Just Jade ink. I didn't think I had that color but I did find a cube that was from a Paper Pumpkin kit.  The original card centered the words. I didn't pay attention but they look good off to the side too. Then this piece was taped in place on the front of the card. The frame was then glued in place. It wasn't wide enough for tape but you can try if you want. Glue was just easier for me.

The Penguins were fussy cut from a piece of the DSP and were set in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals. Here's a tip for you: Before I set them in place I took my black marker and I traced around the edges of the areas where the parts are black. It helps hide the white showing from imperfect fussy cutting. I could have done the feet but the white doesn't show up that much, not like it did on the black. Now it looks like perfect fussy cutting!

I added some "Subtle Shimmer Sequins" from the new holiday catalog. They were glued in place and the card was done.

This was a very fun and easy card to make, even with the fussy cutting!

Thank you SO much for taking your time today to see this fun Christmas card,
Wanda

Hand-Penned Petals, Happiest of Birthday's, Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

What caught my eye about today's card was the colors. I love the richness of them. And I like the stamped background on the Designer Series Paper (DSP). You can see the original card here

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. On top of that is a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Soft Succulent card stock. I could have used a half-sheet for the card but my supplies are limited so I went with the quarter sheet and covered a piece of Basic White.

I cut a piece of Evening Evergreen card stock to measure 4-7/8" x 3-5/8" and a piece of DSP from the "Hand-Penned" 12" x 12" package to measure 4-3/4" x 3-1/2".  I took the DSP and set it on top of the Evening Evergreen card stock and I jogged it to the right side so it was even and still equal on the top and bottom. I'm doing this because I want to cut both pieces at the same time. I used the scalloped edge die from the "Penned Flowers" die set.

Then I took the two dried flower looking image from the "Hand-Penned" set and stamped them using Soft Succulent ink for both the top and the bottom of the flower image. I taped the DSP to the Evening Evergreen piece.  And then I taped that piece to the front of the card.

I took a piece of Basic White card stock and I die cut the scalloped edge. I trimmed the piece to 3 bumps. Yup, a new way of measuring. I needed three bumps to match the bumps of the DSP and Evening Evergreen piece. I stamped the words from the "Happiest of Birthday's" using Evening Evergreen ink. I made sure the piece was cut to the size I wanted it before I stamped the words. It ended up being 3-1/4" x 3 bumps!  I tied a piece of black twine around the left side. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set aside.

The larger flowers image from the "Hand-Penned Petals" set and was stamped using black Memento ink. I used the matching die to cut it out. Then I colored the leaves using both light and dark Mint Macaron Blends pens.  And the flowers were colored in using both light and dark Daffodil Delight Blends pens. I added Wink of Stella to both flowers. I just felt they needed a little sparkle.

The words were set in place on the front of the card. The original card had the bottom bump a full bump but I didn't cut my card stock the same so I ended up with a half bump. You could add 1/8" to the length of both the DSP and the card stock if you want a full bump on the bottom.  I set the words in place and then dimensionals were added to the back of the flower piece and set in place on the card.

Genial Gems were added to the card and the card was done.

This was a fun, quick and easy card to make. I love the colors. I really love how the background color makes the flower just pop.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's card,
Wanda

Hand-Penned Petals, Peaceful Moments, Sympathy Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

The "Book" stamping technique/card fold is fun and easy. I thought I would give it another try but a different orientation and here's what I came up with.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Fresh Freesia card stock. I cut the card stock on the long side at 5-1/2".  I scored it at 4-1/4" and 5-1/2".  Fold the card in half and leave the other score mark as is. This is the front of the card.

I cut a Basic White strip at 3/4" x 5-1/4" and two pieces at 3" x 5-1/4"  One for the front and one for the inside. I taped the strip to the left side of the card. I taped the ribbon to the inside of the card in that 1" area. Then I glued the 1" area shut and I set the card aside to dry.

I took one of the larger Basic White pieces and I stamped the words from the "Peaceful Moments" set using black Memento ink.

Scrap Basic White card stock was used to stamp the flower image from the "Hand-Penned Petals" set using black Memento ink.  I stamped the flower twice. One on the 3" x 5-1/4" piece and one on a scrap piece of card stock. I fussy cut the three largest flowers.

The fussy cut flowers were colored in by using the matching stamps and Fresh Freesia ink. I took my Blender pen and colored the other four flowers on the 3" x 5-1/4" piece.  The leaves were colored in using light and dark Granny Apple Green Blends pens.  I was now ready to assemble the card.

I taped the 3" x 5-1/4" blank piece to the inside and I taped the stamped one on the outside.

Glue was used on the die cut flower piece and it was set in place on the front of the card.

The fussy cut flowers were set in place using Dimensionals.

I added pearls to the center of the flowers. I also had added one by the words. I didn't plan that one but there was a black dot on the paper. I wasn't sure if it was ink or something that was on the paper during the processing but it was there and it wasn't going away. So I had a tiny little pearl and I set it on that spot and the spot went away!!! Plus I think it looks cute there.

I took my ribbon and slipped it under the ribbon on the front and tied a knot. I cut the ribbon from the spool. I did add a little glue dot to the ribbon, it didn't want to stay tied.

This was a fun and easy card to make and I do like this fun technique.

Hand-Penned, Get Well Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

When I was looking for a card on Pinterest yesterday, I had run across this one. Well, sort of. I did make a few changes. You can see the original card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. You could use Mint Macaron and add a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White on the inside, that would work too but not necessary since you'd be covering the front of it.

I used a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Hand-Penned" 12" x 12" package.  The original card used a pre-printed card from the "Hand-Penned Note Cards" pack. I didn't have those but I really did love that polka dotted background. I was looking in my package of DSP thinking I might have that too but no, I just had the stripes.  A little disappointed but eager to make the card, I cut the DSP and taped it to the front of the card.

Next I die cut the scalloped rectangle from the "Colors & Contours" dies.  I stamped the words from the "Hand-Penned" set using Mint Macaron ink. I did mask off the word "friend" on the stamp. I just wanted the "Feel Better" words.

Then I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of vellum and centered the rectangle on top. I turned it over and added tape over the rectangle area. I wanted to tape the vellum down but I didn't want the tape to show.  I set the vellum in place on top of the DSP.

Dimensionals were added to the rectangle piece and it was set in place on top of the vellum.

The flower is from the "Hand-Penned" set and was stamped using black Memento ink and colored with a Blender pen for the Pale Papaya flower and Blends pens were used for the Daffodil Delight flower and the Mint Macaron leaves and stems. Dimensionals were added to the back of the flower piece and it was set in place on top of the Basic White rectangle piece and the card was done.

I didn't add the bow and I had changed the colors because I didn't have a Just Jade ink pad, marker or Blends pen. I think it turned out well, I like it and that's what's important, right?

Thank you SO very much for stopping in today to see this sweet get well card,

Hand-Penned Petals, Thank You Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I wanted to find a sweet thank you card and I ran across this one on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. I changed it a little.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock to the front of the card. Across the bottom of that piece is a 1-3/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Hand-Penned" 12" x 12" package. I taped that 1/4" up from the bottom.

The vellum circle piece was die cut using the die from the "Painted Labels" pack that is part of the "Painted Poppies" bundle. I taped it to the DSP and on the left side I added tape where the stamped flower image will be covering it.

The flower image is from the "Hand-Penned Petals" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I colored the flowers using my light and dark Blends Pens. I used Pedal Pink for the larger flowers. The original card used Blushing Bride ink. I didn't want to stamp the flowers, it was quicker and easier to color them in. You get to scribble!  Who doesn't love to scribble color?  So since there was no Blushing Bride Blends pen I went with the next closest color and that was Petal Pink. The smaller flowers were colored in using Daffodil Delight and the leaves were colored in using Mint Macaron.

I took a 1" x 3-1/2" piece of Blushing Bride card stock.  Now Blushing Bride was stuck in my brain and that's why I used it. I didn't realize the color should have been Petal Pink until I had it all taped together. I wasn't going to change it and personally, I think it looks fine the way it is. I stamped the words using black Memento ink and I trimmed the ends to points. I taped the strip to the back of the die cut flower piece and then I added Dimensionals to the back.

The flowers piece was set in place over the vellum circle.  Black acrylic dots were added to the flower centers. Mine are from some retired Halloween elements. I was glad I was able to use them.

This was a fun, quick and easy card to make.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this sweet thank you card,

Color & Contour, Thank You Card ,2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Today's card was a very fun and quick card to make. Plus it's a versatile card. This card can be used for a number of occasions and you know I LOVE cards and stamp sets like that!

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left. This design would also look great if the card opened on the bottom with the fold on the top. I tend to make the majority of my cards open on the right and the fold on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and I taped a 2" x 4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Well Suited" 12" x 12" package to the bottom of the Basic White piece.

I cut a 4" x 4" piece of Basic White card stock and I die cut the scalloped edge using the die from the "Scalloped Contours" dies.

The words were stamped next. They are from the "Color & Contour" set and were stamped using black Memento ink.

I stamped three flowers from the "Color & Contour" set using black Memento ink. I used the solid colored stamp and Pacific Point ink to color in the flowers. Then I die cut them. I colored the centers with the dark Daffodil Delight Blends pen. Then I added some Wink of Stella to the center of each flower. I just thought it could use some sparkle.

The flowers were set on the front of the scalloped piece so I could see where to stamp the dots. I used black Memento ink to stamp them.

Then one flower was taped down in the upper right corner. The other two flowers were added using Dimensionals. I added Dimensionals to the back of the scalloped piece and set it in place on the 4" x 5-1/4" piece of card stock with the DSP attached to it. And that was it.

This is a nice way to use up some of those scraps of DSP you have sitting around.  I have TONS of it!

I enjoyed making today's card. I LOVE the layout and I can see myself making more of these and I can see myself using this layout again too!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see this fun versatile card,

Color & Contour, Peaceful Moments, Sympathy Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Today's card was found on Pinterest.  It was the colors that drew me to it. It's so soft and sweet looking. You can see the original card here

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Pool Party card stock. The sheet of card stock was cut in half on the short side so before folding, the piece measured 4-1/4" x 11".  This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Hand-Penned" 12" x 12" package. I  used the open scalloped die from the "Scalloped Contours" dies. It's part of the "Color & Contour" bundle.  I've never die cut my DSP like that for a background. I thought it was pretty. I glued this piece to the front of the card.

I took a piece of Basic White card stock and die cut the scalloped stitched rectangle using a die from the same "Scalloped Contours" die set.

The flower is from the "Color & Contour" set and was stamped using black Memento ink. I colored in the flower and leaves with the light and dark Pool Party and Granny Apple Green Blends pens. I also colored the flowers with my Wink of Stella pen. I thought it could use a bit more color.  The flower was then die cut using the matching die. I'm SO spoiled with dies that fussy cutting seems like a chore sometimes! I set the flower on top of the Basic White rectangle to see how much space I had for words. I was going to do a birthday card but I have so many birthday cards so I thought I'd make a sympathy card instead. The words are from the "Peaceful Moments" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I set it up in my Stamparatus to not only make sure it gets inked dark enough but to make sure it's straight.  And now I'm ready to assemble.

I added Dimensionals to the back of the Basic White rectangle piece and then the flowers were set in place using Dimensionals as well. I did not add any to the stem because I thought it would show and it's difficult to get a small enough piece and make it stick.

I took three green gems from the "Genia Gems" set and set them in place on the front of the card. A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was added to the inside and the card was done.

This was a very fun, quick and easy card to make and I can see myself making more. Perhaps with other DSP or maybe exactly the same!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see this soft looking sympathy card,
Wanda
