Penguin Place, Penguin Playmates, Christmas Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

WOW, can you believe it's the last day of August? This month sure went by fast.  The whole summer did. Here's my card for today!

I always struggle making this layout but when I'm done I usually like my card.  Today is no different.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I took a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Penguin Playmates" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the front of the card.

I cut a piece of Balmy Blue card stock for the layers. You can also just cut strips but I just used the solid piece. The top piece was cut from the left at 1-1/4" to the right at 3". The bottom piece was cut from the bottom right corner of the Balmy Blue piece to 3-7/8" up from the bottom on the left.

The Basic White top piece was cut at 1" on the left and 2-7/8" on the right. And the bottom piece was cut to measure 4-1/8" across the bottom and 3-3/4" up from the bottom corner on the left.

I stamped the snowflakes from the "Penguin Place" set using Balmy Blue ink that was stamped off once.

The words are from the same "Penguin Place" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on the bottom Basic White piece. I taped the Basic White pieces to the Balmy Blue pieces and I set them in place on top of the DSP using Dimensionals.

I fussy cut the penguin from a piece of the Penguin Playmates DSP. I added Dimensionals to the back of it and set it aside.

Then I die cut a 2-1/8" circle. I used the piece of Basic White card stock that I had saved from when I used my blending brush to color the snowflakes I used in a card a few days ago. You can see that card here.  I die cut a scalloped circle just a little larger than the Basic White circle and I taped the two circles together. I added three Dimensionals to the back of the circle. I added them in a line. This line of Dimensionals would be going over the DSP area. I used glue on the rest of the circle to hold the edges down.

The penguin was added to the circles.

I had fussy cut a tree and the bird a while back and saved them. They were on a piece of DSP that I had cut some critters from but didn't want to toss out the tree and bird. And when I cut out this penguin there was a full tree left too, so I fussy cut that out and I thought I'd just add the three pieces to this card. I think they look good there!

This was a very fun card to make and I'm VERY pleased with the way it turned out.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by today and see today's fun Christmas card,
Wanda
