Butterfly Wishes, Birthday Card, 2019-2020 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Oh SO soft and pretty.  I saw this card on the internet and of course I just had to make it. You can see the original card here.  This card is not only pretty but easy to make too.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Crumb Cake card stock.  I cut the card stock in half on the 8-1/2" side and the score line is on the long side at 5-1/2".  This card is folded on the left and opens on the right.

I stamped the branch image using Crumb Cake ink that was stamped off once.  I think it would have been less work and time to use Versa Mark.  And I think the ink would look more even.

Then I stamped the same image after I colored it in using Soft Suede, Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive markers.  I huffed on the image and then stamped it on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  I die cut the image using the new "Stitched Nested Labels" dies.  I used the second largest one.  Then I die cut a Basic Black one using the third largest die.

Next I stamped the greetings from the same "Butterfly Wishes" set.  I stamped them using black Memento ink. I did this after I die cut the piece.

I used removable tape on the back of the Whisper White piece.  I cut the Basic Black piece in half and set them on the back of the Whisper White piece. I used removable tape because I wanted to be able to lift the Whisper White piece up after I got the Basic Black pieces set in place.  I added permanent tape to the Basic Black pieces and made sure the Whisper White piece was lined up and I set them in place on the Crumb Cake card base.  I lifted the Whisper White piece up and pressed the Basic Black piece in place.  I added Dimensionals to the back of the Whisper White piece and set it back in place on the Basic Black pieces.

I stamped the butterflies from the same set.  I used Blackberry Bliss ink to stamp them. I fussy cut them out because there is no die or punch.  But it was only two and I was excited to make this card so it okay.  I bent the wings up a little and added pieces of a Dimensional to the back of the center part of the butterflies and set them in place on the Whisper White piece. I added a gold pearl to the center of each butterfly and on either side of the words and that was it!!!

I thought this was a very fun and easy card to make, even with the fussy cutting.  It's also a quick card too.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
