Snowflake Sentiments, Seasonal Chums, Snowflake Christmas Card

I found this fun card on Pinterest but it wasn't done using Stampin' Up! products, so I thought I would see what I had in my stamp sets and what I could come up with.  And this is what I did!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock.

I cut the three squares using the "Stitched" framelet dies using glossy card stock.  I  used glossy card stock because I hadn't read what was used in the original card.  Had I read I may or may not have used watercolor.  The original card using some stuff called "Color Burst" which I can only imaging that it is something like "Brusho".  I may have to try that another day using "Brusho".

I stamped my snowflakes from the "Snowflake Sentiments" set using VersaMark.  I embossed them with white embossing powder.  I took a mister that had rubbing alcohol and Pool Party ink in it and misted the three pieces at one time.  I mixed up some Pacific Point ink with rubbing alcohol and misted the pieces but not directly over the top, I wanted some of the Pool Party color to still show.

I let the pieces dry and then I taped them to the card. I stamped the words from the "Seasonal Chums" set using black Memento ink.  After I stamped them I wished I had used Pacific Point ink. It would have given the card a softer look. But after all was said and done, I do like how it turned out.

It was a simple card to make. I can't say it was quick but had I sped up the drying using the embossing heat tool (at a safe enough distance not to remelt the embossing powder) it may have dried faster.  But I was in no hurry to make the card so I just let it dry naturally.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
