Signs of Santa, Santa's Signpost, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up! 2018 Holiday Catalog

This was a very fun card to make. I SO love this Santa.  I used him on our Christmas card this year.  You will get to see it on Christmas day (as usual).

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Cherry Cobbler.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla that was textured using the fun "Cable Knit" embossing folder. I did mist my card stock before I embossed it because I was afraid it might crack or tear. I just lean on the cautious side when I emboss with these deep embossing folders.

I cut a 4-3/8" x 3-1/8" piece of Cherry Cobbler.  On top of that is a 4-1/4" x 3" piece of card stock from the November 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit.  I have not made a single card from that kit the way it was intended.  Though I do like the original cards, I'm having too much fun finding alternative cards.  Now if you don't have this card stock, you can always substitute it for something else.  I think any card stock that has a Christmas theme would work with this layout. I taped those two layers together and set them in place on the card using Dimensionals.

The white rectangle piece also came with the kit but you can use a 2-1/2" x 1-7/8" piece of Whisper White or Very Vanilla card stock.  You can also punch the edges or round the edges. Or you can just leave them pointed.

I added the greens from the Paper Pumpkin kit. I set them in place with snail tape. You can also use glue dots.

I set the Whisper White rectangle on top of the greens using Dimensionals..

I stamped the Santa from the "Signs of Santa" and "Santa's Signpost" stamp set and matching dies.  I colored him using the Blends markers.  Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, Petal Pink and Smoky Slate.  I set Santa in place on top using Dimensionals. Lots of layers of Dimensionals here.  But the card isn't really all that thick. Not enough to cause it to have extra postage.

And for the final touch, I added gold sequins to the card front.  It was just enough to give it some fun sparkle!

This was a very fun card to make and I can see myself making more.  But I did find a few other cards I'd like to make or change a bit.  This card is an original!!  Shocker, huh? LOL

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
