Abstract Impressions, Thank You Card, 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I found a fun card on Pinterest that I just had to make. I didn't have all of the same materials used but I managed to recreate it with what I had. I did not purchase the in colors this time around. It's a huge expense (around $80) to get the in colors, ink pad, markers, card stock and ink refills so I opted to pass this time. It was a decision that I was able to make pretty easily as I looked at the prior in colors and all the card stock that was left over before it retired. I don't use them enough so I decided not to purchase them. I believe the original card was made using the new in colors.  I managed to make it without it.  So here is how I did it using the "Abstract Impressions" set:

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Daffodil Delight. The original card was made using Pineapple Punch. It's a brighter yellow. The Basic Black layer was cut 4" x 5-1/4". The Whisper White layer was cut 3-7/8" x 5-1/8".

I stamped the large flower using Calypso Coral. The original card used Grapefruit Grove. I stamped the background (thicker image) using Calypso Coral stamped off once. Then I used the thinner flower image with Calypso Coral straight from the ink pad.

The round flowers were made using Mango Melody for the thicker image and I used Pumpkin Pie for the detail image.  I don't know what colors were used on the original card.

The yellow flower was made using the thicker flower image and Daffodil Delight ink stamped off once. The detail image was stamped directly from the ink pad.

The leaves were stamped using Granny Apple Green. I think the original card used the new Call Me Clover.  The tiny leaves on the orange flowers are the inside of the butterfly wings. How fun to use that for leaves.

I stamped the dragonfly body using black memento ink and the wings were stamped using Mango Melody ink.

The words are from the same set. It would have been fun to have a happy birthday in that set too but I can use a thank you card too! The words were stamped using black Memento ink. They were punched out using the "Tailored Tag" punch.

A piece of black baker's twine was tied around the card and then the words were set in place using Dimensionals.  A tip here. The twine was added and then the punched piece was set on the card to see exactly where the word piece should go. I didn't want it to cover too much of my flowers, so I found the right spot to place them.  Once they were in place I taped the Whisper White piece to the Basic Black piece. Then I taped those two layers to the card base. I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock to the inside of the card and that was it!

I think it's such a pretty card and I just had to make one. Even with the colors I used, I think it's such a bright and cheery color!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
