Background Bits Hostess Set Card

I am not sure why I bought the "Background Bits" Hostess set but once I opened it I saw some fun possibilities with it.  I came up with this simple card.  I'm not sure what occasion it is for but it has a lot of possibilities.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White cardstock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Fresh Fig cardstock. And on top of that is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White card stock.

I took the scalloped circle die and cut my circle from the center of the Fresh Fig layer before it was set in place.  That way I didn't waste any cardstock.

I used the Wild Wasabi marker and what I thought was the Fresh Fig marker to color in the flowers.  I had inadvertently used Berry Burst, but it's still pretty.  And I think the Fresh Fig may have been too dark for the flowers.  Once they were stamped I die cut them with the circle die.  Then I taped that to the scalloped die.

I stamped the lined unreadable image using Fresh Fig ink. I wrapped some gold thread around the Whisper White piece and then I took some more of the gold thread and wrapped it around a scrap piece of cardstock and cut it like you would when you make a pom pom.  I tied those little pieces in place.  I did add a dot of glue so they stayed.  They did like to slip out of the knot.
Next I taped the Whisper White focal piece to the Fresh Fig layer.  I added Dimensionals to the Fresh Fig layer and taped that on the card base and the card was done.  It would make a great Thinking of you, Friendship, Get Well, Sympathy or even a fun Birthday Card.

There are many cards on my blog that can be made in under 20 minutes.  Click here to see them.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
