A Thoughts and Prayers Sympathy Card

Today I was in need of a sympathy card.  My hubby's aunt died yesterday and the funeral is tomorrow.  I found a card made by Dawn at Do Stamping with Dawn.  I thought it was so pretty.  I do have problems using the blocks to make background images. There's always something on my ink pad that gets picked up on the block and transferred to the paper. You'd think that after all that transferring that there'd be nothing left on the block, wouldn't you?  It doesn't show up as much if you stamp off but when I do a direct from ink pad to paper it shows.  The card is still pretty but not what I wanted to see when I stamped the block.

I stamped the block using Pool Party.  I wanted Soft Sky but remember what I said the other day??  I inked up that pad with Pool Party!  GRRRR.  I have an inker ordered.  I had rinsed off the pad until the water ran clear.  I patted it with a bunch of paper towels and I've left it sitting open. It's dry and waiting for the ink.  It will probably take the whole bottle of ink!!!!  Okay, let's move on here!! LOL

The words and the pretty branch were stamped using the black Memento ink (not the Memories ink pad - I need to toss that one out!).

I used the small butterfly punch and set the butterfly in place using a Dimensional.  The Whisper White focal piece was set in place using Dimensionals as well.

I had some thick baker's twine and wrapped it around the focal piece.  That is why I needed to use Dimensionals.  You really can't tape a card like that in place.  The twine is too bulky and would make for a very bumpy card.  Though my card does look a bit lumpy.  I ran out of Dimensionals and I used some that I had gotten in the mail a while back with some stickers or something.  They are a bit thicker.  I'm hoping that they will squish down a bit once the card is put in the envelope.

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
