A Simply Sketched Birthday

I thought this card was SO pretty when I saw it.  I found it at "Sleepy in Seattle".  I thought her card was so striking that I just HAD to make it.  You can see the original card here.

I did change it every so slightly.  For my card I used Whisper White for the base.  I took a piece of Pool Party and cut it to 5-1/4" x 4".  Then I stamped the "Hello Doily" stamp using the White Craft ink.  I also embossed it using white embossing powder.  I had originally stamped one in white ink and then used the Heat and Sick powder with glitter but the white ink disappeared and all I saw was a clear doily with glitter.  It was pretty but not the look I was going for.

I stamped the bird on a piece of scrap paper and punched it out using the 2" circle punch.  The Pool Party circle behind it is a 2-1/8" circle.  I set it in place using Dimensionals.  I added a piece of white Taffeta and then made and attached a bow.

The words are from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set.  One of my favorite word sets.  On the original card the words are stamped directly on the Pool Party piece.  I didn't think I had enough room on my piece to do that.  I like how mine turned out and if you don't go to see the original card than you will think this one looks just fine too!!! LOL

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
