Sunset Sailing, The Right Words, Masculine Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I thought I'd make a masculine birthday card today and while looking on Pinterest I ran across this one. I thought it looked fun and simple enough! You can see the original card here. Please read on to see how I put the card together.

Using the embossing folder and die from the "Sunset Sailing" bundle I cut and embossed a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White card stock. The embossing folder allows you to just click the die cut in place so you can emboss and cut at the same time.

Adding color to the sale boat came next. Using the Crumb Cake marker, the mast and the cabin was colored in. The bottom part of the boat was colored in using the light Misty Moonlight Blends pen. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set aside.

Next came the water. Using my Blending Brush, Balmy Blue was scrubbed on.

The birds in the sky were colored in using the fine tip of the Crumb Cake marker and the larger bird was stamped using Crumb Cake ink.

Next the piece was glued to a piece of Basic Black. I later found that it was supposed to be Seacrest Sea, which is so dark it almost looks black. After gluing the white in place, I taped the layers to the card base.

The boat was added next. It's offset a little to give a shadow.

The words are from "The Right Words" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. I moved the die as far to the left as possible and the right end was lined up with the top Basic White layer and the excess was cut off. And the card was done.

This card was so quick and easy to make. I think it would make a great masculine sympathy card and a great Father's Day card.

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's masculine birthday card,
Wanda
