Eden's Garden, Dainty Flowers, Friendship or Get Well or Sympathy Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello!  I'm happy you are here to see today's card that I found on Pinterest. My card could be used for a thinking of you, friendship or sympathy card.

This card was fun to make. In the "Dainty Flowers" 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) package there are two sheets of paper that have 6 ovals on them with some flowers in the middle. I'll be using those on a card soon. I used one of the ovals on a card a while back but when I saw that you could cut them in half and make a lovely card, I thought I'd give it a try. In my quest to try to use up my DSP I find myself chasing my tail. Now when I cut these in half I have twice as many!!!  Kind of a catch 22!!! LOL  But I plan on making 6 cards with half a sheet since this design covers many occasions. I will be adding a birthday, thinking of you, Mother's Day, anniversary and wedding words.  And there's the 6 with today's!! As simple as that!

So onto the makings of this card. The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

The Fresh Freesia dotted DSP is from the "Dainty Flowers" package and was cut at 5-1/4" x 1".  Again, not using much in the quest to use up DSP!!! LOL This piece was taped to the front of the card about 1/4" from the fold.

A 1-3/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Rich Razzleberry card stock was cut and set in place butted up to the DSP.

The flower piece was cut at 1-7/8" x 5" and taped on top of the DSP and Rich Razzleberry pieces.

The words are from the "Eden's Garden" set and were stamped using Rich Razzleberry ink. Allow it to dry, mine tends to smear if I touch it too soon after stamping.  I used the 4th stitched circle in the "Stylish Shapes" die set. And a scalloped circle from the "Layering Circles" die set was cut from Fresh Freesia card stock for the layer behind it. The two pieces were taped together and Dimensionals were added behind it and then set in place on the front of the card.

A couple of round embellishments were added. Mine are from the "Genial Gems" package.

I wrapped some Baker's twine around the card front two times and tied a knot. And then I took the photo without making sure the ends of the bow were laying nice.  I could have redone the photo but I decided to just leave it as it is. Then you can get an idea of how long the ends are.

This was a very fun, quick and easy card to make. I do like how it turned out and I look forward to finishing up the other 5 I had cut out.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's card,
Wanda

  1. I love how you cut one of the ovals in half. Very pretty card with that beautiful dsp! Instead of 12 of the ovals in the pack, now you could have 24 half ovals for a bunch of cards!
