Around the Bend, Rain or Shine, Thank You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello! I'm happy you are here to see today's card. I found it on Pinterest and thought I'd give it a try. I was drawn to this card because of the background stenciling.  Read on to see how you can make this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Old Olive for the layer and I cut a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock for the top focal layer.

The cute turtle is from the "Rain or Shine" 12" x 12" package of Designer Series Paper (DSP) and I fussy cut him out. There is a matching die but I didn't purchase the bundle. The turtle sits on a circle that was die cut from the "Layering Circles" set and I had used the 2-7/16" circle and I used the second largest (2-13/16") scalloped die. I die cut the scalloped one using the Old Olive layer. Center the die on the Old Olive piece and no one will ever know it's not a solid layer.

The words are from the "Around the Bend" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I die cut them using the 4th stitched die in the "Stylish Shapes" set. And I  used the 2" scalloped die from the "Layering Circles" die set. I used a scrap piece of Old Olive for that. I thought about using the scalloped circle that I had just cut but I wanted to make sure I didn't mess up and not get it perfectly centered. It would be a tight fit there, so I just went with some scrap I had. I taped all of the circles together.

I took the Basic White piece and used the mask from the "Artistic Mix Decorative Masks" set. This is what drew me to this card. I had bought these masks and have hardly used them. The last time I ordered masks I had never used them and they retired. I used my Blending Brush and Old Olive ink. I did tape the mask on top of the card stock using some post it note tape. I tried to keep it to the right and away from the top, left and bottom edges.

The large scalloped piece was taped in place and then trimmed on the right side. The piece was then taped to the Old Olive layer. Dimensionals were added behind that and then set in place on top of the card base.

Dimensionals were used behind the turtle and it was set in place on the large circle.

Then the words were taped to the smaller Old Olive scalloped circle and it was taped in place on top of the card.

A few embellishments were added to the front of the card and the card was done. My embellishments were some retired "Candy Dots" that I had colored using my black Blends pen. I am trying to use up some of the stuff I have on hand.

This was a fun card to make and I think stenciling is SO much fun.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's thank you card,
Wanda
