Senior Years, Thank You Card, The Good the Bad and the Ugly, Stampin' Up!

Every now and then the card in my head is nothing like what ends up on paper.  This is one of the "ugly" cards.

I used a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Pansy Petals" 12" x 12" package and I taped it to the front of a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

Then I die cut the lacy frame from the "Ornate Layers" dies using Cajun Craze card stock.

I cut a piece of Basic White card stock 2-3/16" x 3-9/16" and I sponged it using Cajun Craze ink first and then a little Bermuda Bay ink was added.

I stamped the lady from the "Senior Years" set on a piece of Basic White card stock and fussy cut her out.  I colored her with my Blends pens. I used Light Basic Gray for the hair. Light Pumpkin Pie for the top and Dark Pumpkin Pie for the skirt. I colored her face, hands and legs using Light Petal Pink. Her earrings, necklace and shoes were colored in using the Light Bermuda Bay pen. I set her in place on top of the sponged Basic White piece using Dimensionals. Then I taped the piece in place on top of the lacy Cajun Craze piece.

The words are from the "Pansy Patch" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on Crumb Cake card stock.  I set them in place using Dimensionals.

Then I set the entire piece on the front of the card using Dimensionals and the card was done.

I do not care for this card at all.  I am not sure what I could do to improve it. Perhaps remove the wording and try something else??? I don't know.  But the friend I made it for is going to like it. I guess that's what's important, right?  As for me, I think it's ugly!!!  They all can't be winners now, can they?  LOL

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see the ugly cards too,
Wanda
