Hand-Penned Petals, Thank You Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Today's card is very quick and easy to make. I love all the layers. I found the card on Pinterest but it clicking on the photo didn't lead to any information on how to make the card.  So here is how I made it.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Very Vanilla card stock. It looks white here and I did try to take a picture using a white background but it washed out the card base so I went with the black background.  So, trust me, it's Very Vanilla card stock.

I added a 4" x 5-1/4" Pale Papaya layer that I textured using the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder. I glued the textured piece in place.

I cut a 4" x 2-3/4" piece of Very Vanilla and I stamped the flower image using Pale Papaya ink. I covered the piece using that stamp. Then I cut a 4-1/8" x 2-7/8" piece of Basic Gray for the layer. I taped the two layers together and then I centered them on the card using Dimensionals.

The "thanks" is from the same "Hand-Penned Petals" set and was stamped using Basic Gray ink. The piece measured 2-1/8" x 1-1/16".  I cut a Basic Gray layer that measured 2-1/4" x 1-1/4".  I taped the layers together and added Dimensionals to the back. I made sure I didn't add Dimensionals on the part that hangs over the edge. But I didn't want that part to sag, so I stacked two Dimensionals together and slid it under the piece in the center and it looked a lot better.

The flower was stamped using Basic Gray ink and then colored in with my Blender pen and Pale Papaya ink on the flowers and Soft Succulent on the leaves and stems. I didn't have any markers or Blends pens from the in-colors.  The blender pen worked just fine. I used the light Pumpkin Pie Blends pen to add some highlights to the flowers and I also added some light Flirty Flamingo Blends to the outer areas of the flowers. Then I took my dark Mint Macaron Blends pen and added a little highlights in the middle of the leaves. Then I set it in place using Dimensionals. Now I must have gotten the size of the stamped background piece or the word piece wrong because my flower didn't want to fit the same way it did on the original card. So I just let the leaf hang over the word piece.  I did like the look of that.

I colored a few rhinestones using my light Pumpkin Pie Blends pen and I set them in place on the front of the card. Where you see the small one with the larger one, well, that was a mistake. There was a mark on my card stock. Do you ever get a piece of card stock with something stuck in it from the processing of it?  Well, this one had something on it and I was going to make sure I turned the piece so the flower would hide it but I forgot and when I was added the words I saw it.  So when I was coloring the rhinestones, I thought I'd just add the tiniest dot on that spot to see if I could get it to blend.  Obviously it didn't or that little rhinestone wouldn't be there!  LOL  But I do like how the two together so close look nice. So it was a nice mistake.

The original card used some ribbon around the stem of the flowers. I don't have any of that ribbon so I just omitted it and I think the card looks great the way it is.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see this quick and easy thank you card,
Wanda
