Hand-Penned Petals, Thank You Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Once again I found a great card on Pinterest that was quick and easy to make. I loved the colors and the layout. You can see the original card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. The layer is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Polished Pink card stock.

The focal piece is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White.  Before I stamped my image, I cut the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "In Colors" 6" x 6" stack.  I cut it at 1-7/8" x 3-3/4".  I did tape it in place before I stamped the flower.  I didn't think that there was a possibility that I could drop the stamp and get ink on the DSP.  If I make another one I will wait to tape the DSP down, but I will set it on top to see where I need to stamp the flower and words.

The flower and words are from the "Hand-Penned Petals" set and were stamped using black Memento ink.

The set also has the solid flower petal parts, so I stamped them using Polished Pink ink.

I didn't feel like trying to line up the leaves, so I just took my dark Mint Macaron Blends pen and colored in them. I actually just scribbled.  It didn't matter if I went outside the lines either. I don't think I did, but if I did, it didn't matter at all.  I liked coloring with the Blends pen more than I did stamping the solid parts of the flower. If I would have had the Polished Pink Blends pens I would have used them instead.

Once the coloring part was done, I taped a 5-1/2" piece of ribbon around the front to the back and I used scotch tape to hold it in place. Then I taped the piece to the Polished Pink card stock and I taped that to the card base.

A bow was tied using the same Polished Pink ribbon and it was set in place using a large glue dot.  And the card was done.

The original card added some colored dots to the front. I didn't have those dots and I thought it looked nice the way it was. A simple and clean looking card.

This was a fun card to do and I would not think twice before making more. Though I think I would set it up in my Stamparatus so I could make several more at one time.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by today and see this simple thank you card,
Wanda
