Zany Zebras, Children's Birthday Card, 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I had bought the "Zany Zebras" set and forgot about it. I thought it was time to play with it. It's always good to have children's birthday cards on hand.  I thought this card looked super easy to do and it is. You can see the original card here

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Night of Navy card stock. Before I taped it in place I die cut the scalloped circle from the "Layering Circles" Framelits dies.

I took a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Whisper White card stock. I die cut the circle for the zebra from it using the circle die from the "Layering Circle" Framelits dies that was just a little smaller than the Night of Navy Scalloped circle. You will want to die cut this in about the same area that you are going to set it on when they circles are stamped and put together. You need to hide the circle you cut out. If you aren't comfortable with that, then just die cut the image from a separate piece of card stock. I then textured the Whisper White piece using the "Subtles" embossing folder.

I took a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Neutrals 6" x 6" paper stack.  I cut the DSP to 2" x 3-7/8".  I taped it to the bottom of the embossed Whisper White piece.

I had a small scrap piece from trimming my Night of Navy card stock, so I used it as a band across the card where the DSP meets the embossed piece.  That Night of Navy piece measured 3-7/8" x almost 3/8".  The width doesn't matter, as long as there is enough to cover where the two pieces meet. I glued the strip in place. I didn't know if the tape runner was too wide and I didn't want to take any chances. It was the only scrap piece of Night of Navy and I didn't want to cut up a whole sheet just for a tiny strip.

Next I stamped the zebra from the "Zany Zebras" set using black Memento ink. I should have used Night of Navy but my pad was just inked and it was too juicy to make a nice image. Then I taped the zebra to the Night of Navy scalloped circle. I added Dimensionals to the back of the circle and I set in place on top of the card. I made sure I covered the circle area I had die cut.

The words are from the "Zany Zebras" set and were also stamped using black Memento ink. I used the "Classic Labels" punch and they were then set in place using Dimensionals.  And the card was done.

This is a very quick and easy card to make. Plus it's adorable!!

Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by and have a look,                                                        Wanda
