Bonanza Buddies, Children's Birthday Card, 2020 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I do not know why the background looks so pink when the paper was actually Whisper White.  Maybe I should have used a flash!  I found this fun card on Pinterest. It did not lead to any instructions, so you may want to either follow mine or workout your own or both together! You can see the original card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Bermuda Bay card stock.  This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Birthday Bonanza" 12" x 12" pack. I taped the DSP to the card base.

I stamped the lion body from the "Bonanza Buddies" set using Daffodil Delight ink.  I stamped the mane and tail using Mango Melody ink.  I also stamped the facial features using black Memento ink and I stamped the hat using Bermuda Bay ink.  I die cut them out at the same time.  The lion's face cuts out separate so you don't have to stamp two.  And the bob on the tail cuts out along with the mane.  I glued the mane to the body and I also glued the bob to the end of the tail.  I set the face in place using a Dimensional.  I taped the hat in place.  I set the lion aside while I worked on the other elements of this card.

I stamped the packages using Bermuda Bay ink.  I think Pool Party might have been the color used or maybe stamping off once with the Bermuda Bay ink.  I just ended up using black for the bow image instead of Bermuda Bay.  It worked out just fine.  I stamped the other package using Daffodil Delight ink. I stamped the bow using Bermuda Bay ink.  I fussy cut the gift out.

I took a 4" x 1" piece of Basic Black card stock and I stamped the words from the "Bonanza Buddies" set using Versa Mark. I embossed them with white embossing powder. I had moved the words over so I had room for the packages on the left.  I taped the Basic Black piece in place and then the two Bermuda Bay packages on first and the Daffodil Delight package was set in place using a Dimensional.

I die cut a 2-3/8" circle and a scalloped circle a little larger. I used Whisper White for the smaller circle and Bermuda Bay for the larger circle.  I'm going to guess that the Whisper White circle on the original card was larger and the scalloped circle was die cut into a frame. It sure looked like that to me but I didn't want to mess with that. I don't like trying to line up those dies to cut evenly all around. I don't always get it straight and I have a limited amount of Bermuda Bay.  The way I did it worked and I like how it looks.  I taped the circles together and then I taped them to the front of the card.

I set the lion in place using Dimensionals.  I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside of my card and the card was done.

I think it's SO darn cute and I just love the colors here.  I was glad I could use a larger piece of the DSP too. I have a lot of that left in the package.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today,
Wanda
