Free as a Bird, Thank You Card, 2019-2020 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Today I was looking at some totes in my workroom and found one that had some "Bird Ballad" Designer Series Paper (DSP) in it and some card stock. I had gotten it as a gift from one of Terri's Stamp a Stacks or the Extravaganza. I don't remember.  She is always giving away product in the form of drawings, contests and purchases made.

I have the "Free as a Bird" set that the DSP coordinates with.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Calypso Coral card stock.  This card is folded at the top and opens at the bottom.

I cut a piece of the DSP at 2-3/4" x 4" and I cut a piece of Whisper White card stock at 2-1/4" x 4".  I taped them on top of the card base, leaving a space between the two.

Then I stamped the bird from the "Free as a Bird" set using black Memento ink on Whisper White card stock.  I colored the bird with Blends Pens. I used light and dark Soft Suede for the head and back.  I used light and dark Pumpkin Pie for the birds chest.  I used the dark Soft Suede for the bird's beak.  Just below the eye I used the Ivory Blends pen.  And on the ground I used light Old Olive.

Once the bird was colored, I die cut it with the new "Stitched So Sweetly" dies.  They are not only stitched, but they are scalloped too.  How cut is that?  Then I stamped the words from the "Free as a Bird" set using black Memento ink.  I REALLY like the font that is used here.

Next I die cut a Calypso Coral piece using a larger "Stitched So Sweetly" die.  I taped the two pieces together and I set them in place on the center of the card using Dimensionals.

I added three sequins from the "Iridescent Sequin Assortment" pack.  I had actually made 5 cards and used sequins on each of them and it doesn't look like I've used any of these sequins!

I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of card stock to the inside and the card was done.

This was a very fun card to make and I actually got to use up some of that paper pack!  Yup, there's still more card stock and DSP.  It's a generous amount of each.

Tomorrow I should be back at the Sale-a-Bration sets and then what's in the new spring catalog.  But I still need to play with the old stuff because it's probably going to retire in May, so I'm trying to in the best of both worlds here!  The problem is, I bought too many sets! (again)

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
