To Every Season, Christmas Layers, Christmas Card

I found a card layout on Pinterest that I thought would be fun to make into a Christmas card.  I swapped the flowers for snowflakes and used more wintry looking colors. And this is what I came up with. Not what was in my head but close enough.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that I taped a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Seaside Spray card stock that I had stamped "Merry Christmas" on it from the "To Every Season" set using black Memento ink.

I die cut the snowflakes using Whisper White card stock that has sticky stuff behind it. I would rather just peel and stick them on than to try to cleanly glue them on.  I'm not a very neat gluer when it comes to super tiny pieces.

I also die cut the snowflakes from a 2" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock. I kept the five snowflakes for some other project (maybe - they will require glue! LOL).  The snowflakes came from the "Christmas Layers" die set.

I set the Whisper White strip on the front of the card and looked at the marks on my Stamparatus so I could set it in that same place each time.  I used the small snowflake from the "To Every Season" set. I lined it up on the left snowflake and removed the Whisper White strip and stamped the snowflake using Seaside Spray ink. I cleaned the stamp and lined it up again for the next snowflake. I repeated this across the strip.  And I actually did remember to remove the strip each time!!!  I was surprised too! LOL

I set the strip in place on my card front using Dimensionals. I stuck the snowflakes in place, they have sticky stuff on the back (remember!). But you can glue them. I would recommend putting some glue on a craft sheet or waxed paper and folding it in half to help make it thinner.  You an also take a plastic knife and spread it thinner. What you will be doing is pressing the snowflake on the thinned glue and then setting it in place on the card front.

And for the final touch, I added a small clear crystal rhinestone to the center of each snowflake.

I do like how it looks, it's not ugly, but it's not what I saw in my head.  My head can be more creative than my hands!  LOL

Thank you ever so much for spending a few moments with me today,
Wanda
