Snowman Season, Let it Snow DSP, Christmas Card

Today I wanted to try to find a way to use some of those mittens I have in the adorable "Let it Snow" embellishment kit and this is what I came up with.

I used some of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Let it Snow" 12" x 12" paper pack.  I picked the mittens images because those were a challenge for me too. It's such a "busy" paper and I had trouble working with it.  But using a smaller strip I was able to work it onto a card and actually like it.  A small strip of it toned it down nicely.

I cut the strip of DSP 1-3/4" x 5-1/2" and I cut a 2" x 5-1/2" piece of Shaded Spruce card stock for the back layer.  I taped the two pieces together and taped them on a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.

I stamped the words from the "Snowman Season" set using Shaded Spruce ink.  I die cut them with the 1-7/8" circle die. I die cut them towards the top of the circle.  And I die cut a scalloped circle to layer behind it.  I taped the two pieces together.  Then I got out my "Let it Snow" embellishment kit and was going to use the green mittens and hat but they didn't stand out very well, so I went with the pink ones.  I set them in place on the circle using Dimensionals.

I added Dimensionals to the back of the circle and I set it in place on the card and there you have it, a super quick and simple card. Plus I got to use the mittens and hat!!!  I have lots left in the kit and I'm sure I won't be using them before they retire.  But I will try.  I should make up some duplicate cards to sell in the craft fair next year.  Now there's an idea!!  Or I could place them in my web store and sell a few that way!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
